SUN Cube: A New Stakeholder Management System for the Post-Merger Integration Process

    Get PDF
Statistically more than 50% of all mergers do not achieve synergies. In majority of cases the reason is the failure in post-merger integration (PMI). This paper develops further how the Sun Cube framework can be used in capturing synergies during PMI. The SUN Cube is a new stakeholder management system that can be used in M&A and can be defined from four perspectives. One of the main achievements is the quantitative methodology suggesting top management and shareholders how assess readiness and possible effects on synergies in specific figures. The Sun Cube framework helps to focus on KPI of specific stakeholders

Elastic pp Scattering at LHC Energies

We consider the first LHC data for elastic pp scattering in the framework of Regge theory with multiple Pomeron exchanges. The simplest eikonal approach allows one to describe differential elastic cross sections at LHC, as well as pp and pˉp\bar{p}p scattering at lower collider energies, on a reasonable level.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, and 1 tabl

Study of dynamic features of highly energetic reactions by DSC and High-Speed Temperature Scanner (HSTS)

    Get PDF
The dynamic features of Al2O3 - polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and Al - PTFE reactions in non-isothermal conditions are presented. The Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and High-Speed Temperature Scanner (HSTS) were used to characterize the Al2O3/Al – PTFE reactions at different heating rates. The study shows that the HSTS instrument can give more information about the reaction mechanism and kinetics than the conventional DSC measurements. In this work we show that high heating rates may reveal exothermic reaction between Al2O3 and PTFE that were previously unidentified. The PTFE can potentially remove the oxide layer from aluminum in the initial period of the reaction and increase the direct contact area between oxygen and aluminum, which increases the reaction velocity and improves the energy release abilities of the system

Proton induced reactions on 114Sn and 120Sn targets at energies up to 18 MeV

We measure cross sections of proton-induced reactions on tin up to energies of 18 MeV using the stacked-foil activation technique, and report first experimental values for 114Sn(p,{\alpha})111In, {^{120}}Sn(p,{\alpha})117gIn, and 114Sn(p,x)113Sn reactions. Measured cross sections have been compared to existing experimental values and numerical calculations based on Talys1.95. Our data are in good agreement with all previous experiments, and also with Talys1.95 results except for 120Sn(p,{\alpha})117m,gIn reactions where the numerical calculations are shifted to higher energies. We also measure isomeric cross section ratios for 117m,gIn and 120m,gSb pairs as functions of the incident proton energy.Comment: 21 pages, 9 figures, 3 table

At present it is very actual in vegetable growing the development of highly effective and ecologically safe methods for increasing yields and plant resistance to unfavorable growth conditions. One of these methods is grafting. The goal of the study was to learn the influence of the rootstock on the characteristics of the growth, development and yield of cucumber. Research was conducted in 2015-2016 in greenhouse in spring-summer period in Armenia. As a scions was used cucumber variety Nazrvan, which was grafted on 5 pumpkin rootstocks (VI033637, VI03338, VI03364, VI040903, VI056328) from the collection of the World Vegetable Center (WVC). The grafting was carried out according to the standard method. When the VI033637 rootstock was used, flowering started 5 days earlier than the ungrafted plants, while when grafted on VI040903, the fruits ripened 6.2 days earlier. High increase of early yield (33.3%) received when used both above mentioned rootstocks. VI033638 – 4.1 kg/m2 and VI033664- 9.9 kg/m2 samples provided high increase of the total yield. For all the types of rootstocks the grafted plants of cucumber surpass the non-grafted ones by height from 4.7 % to 21.7%, by marketability of fruits from 5% to 14% and by fruit mass from 15 gr to 45 g. At the beginning of fruit-setting of cucumber plants the number of female flowers increased from 27% to 63% depending on the rootstock sample. The amount of dry substances in all grafted plants has increased by 4.4-8.8% and the amount of vitamin C by 1.8-9.2%. As a result of research carried out by us, perspective rootstocks (VIO33638 and VIO33664) are identified by a set of economically valuable characteristics which are recommended for applying in the further investigation and breeding activities and in production of grafted plants.

Received: January 31st, 2021 ; Accepted: May 2nd, 2021 ; Published: May 6th, 2021 ; Correspondence: [email protected] enzymes composition is an actual alternative to chemicals to improve functional properties of flours and to generate changes in the structure of the dough and bread quality. The objective of this study was to analyze the individual and synergistic effects of enzymes preparation (α-amylase, endo-xylanase and exoprotease), newly produced in Russia, on dough properties and bread quality made from wheat flour with different amylolytic activity. Reofermentometric results revealed decreases in gas-forming capacity of dough by 10.0–13.9% when single α-amylase preparates were used. The α-amylase addition had significant effect on gas retention coefficient in flour possessed low amylolytic activity. The effect of endo-xylanase and exoprotease on hydration and amount of wheat gluten was established. The fractional composition of gluten proteins in the dough made with combination of endo-xylanase and exoprotease was established using Lowry method immediately after kneading and after fermentation. It was found that mainly water-soluble, alcohol-soluble and alkaline-soluble proteins were undergone by transformation. The bread with enzymes had a higher specific volume, porosity and aldehyde content and lower shape stability indicator than the control bread made without enzymes. Bread with enzymes was characterized by tenderer and not crumbly crumb with developed thin-walled uniform porosity compared to the control. The crusts were more brightly colored. The combined usage of α-amylase and endo-xylanase and exoprotease retarded bread staling during 5-day storage period. New enzyme composition may be a potentially strong candidate for future applications in the bread-making industry
