Real-time FPGA implementation of the Semi-Global Matching stereo vision algorithm for a 4K/UHD video stream

In this paper, we propose a real-time FPGA implementation of the Semi-Global Matching (SGM) stereo vision algorithm. The designed module supports a 4K/Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels @ 30 frames per second) video stream in a 4 pixel per clock (ppc) format and a 64-pixel disparity range. The baseline SGM implementation had to be modified to process pixels in the 4ppc format and meet the timing constrains, however, our version provides results comparable to the original design. Attitudes Towards a Moodle-based E-Learning Platform: A User Segmentation Perspective

The paper objective is to apply Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)-based usage and attitude variables for the predictive user segmentation of Moodle-based e-learning system in a university. The study explores the path models with latent variables estimated by partial least squares method (SmartPLS and plspm library of the R package were used for the parameter estimation) and uses the mixture models (FIMIX and REBUS) for model-based segmentation. Modified technology acceptance model (TAM) was estimated on the sample of 204 students of the Cracow University of Economics. Students Expectations Towards New Technologies: A Case of Blockchain

The paper presents the results of an investigation into factors that influence expectations towards new technologies on an example of blockchain technology (BC). The authors propose a research model that encompasses information sources, knowledge and usage factors, and three types of expectations towards new technology: Technological Evolution, Social Evolution, and Social Revolution. The model was tested on the population of IT students from Cracow universities (Poland). The results indicate that students that are aware of technological and practical aspects of BC have more reserved expectations towards BC, contrary to students whose knowledge and experience of this technology is superficial, and whose expectations are high and might be classified as Social Revolution. The results of research might help in shaping education curricula at universities. The proposed model might be useful in the investigation of attitudes towards other new technologies

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS' QUALITY OF LIFE IN POLAND AND RUSSIA

The main purpose of the article is to compare different quality of life variables in Poland and Russia. The study presents definitional problems associated with the concept of quality of life and defines its various dimensions. The study reviews the subject literature applying a descriptive method as well as presents own empirical research. The research project was based on the surveys carried out among Polish students of the Cracow University of Economics and Russian students of the Saint - Petersburg State University of Economics. The research was carried out in the second quarter of 2018 using the G-Suit package. The research-based questionnaire was conducted as a CSAQ (Computerized Self - Administered Questionnaire), a computer-based questionnaire where respondents were giving their answers directly. The collected data were analysed using the methods of single, double and multidimensional statistics and developed using the SPSS 25
