EXCELLENCY OR CHAOTIC GLOBALIZATION IN TOURISM?

    Get PDF
The globalization, new destinations proliferation and new technologies have changed the competitive environment of the European countries. In the present, the most powerful tool in tourism's promotion is represented by the image of a country or region or touristic product. If we focus our attention on the international dimension, the strategies of defining an image or touristic promotion are: to create a new touristic image, re-position a traditional touristic destination, create a degree of awareness in a competitive environment, create brands (a brand for a region/state).tourism, globalisation, strategy

THE QUALITY OF THE TOURISM SERVICES UNDER THE SIGN OF SUSTAINABILITY

The intensive development of tourism represents a unique challenge in history. That is why we have to be prepared that in the 21st century we should cope with the \\\"avalanche\\\" represented by the quality of life, especially related to the food quantity and quality needs and the greater need of people to recover rapidly and pleasantly through holidays and tourist travels. A first step in this sense, which we assume, is the superior educational effort to train real professionals with certain competences for solving the complexity of these realities that we live. The society becomes more and more aware of all these realities. The activity of the international organisations shows that their efforts for the development of food and tourism are more and more appreciated by the population. Urgent actions based on the mature thinking and quality scientific interpretations are necessary, in order to stop, on the one hand, the food decline in certain areas of the world, and on the other part, for the proportional and harmonious development of food and tourism on more expanded areas, and to reconcile man with nature, to focus on agriculture and on the ecological and biologic food and eco-tourism, to leave future generations an environment at least as favourable as the one we inherited. All these wishes mean important changes in the economy and of everyday life, request large investments and sacrifices, a new mentality. It is not easy to fulfil these tasks, but we must think about what would happen if we did not solve these problems. In a short while we would block the normal evolution of the contemporary human society.tourism services, quality, sustainable

THE MANAGEMENT OF THE OPTIMAL CONDITIONS OF STORAGE - TRANSPORT - TRADING OF THE FOOD PRODUCTS

A product cannot fulfil its role, its calling, unless it enters the final consumption, satisfying the need of the consumer who has bought it. But, the road from the producer to the consumer, in the contemporary conditions is not general, nor simple, nor short, nor cheap. The processes of globalisation, the internationalisation of the markets have lead to the intensification of the distribution of products, and, at the same time, to the amplification of the distances they travel. All these have determined the awarding of greater attention on the maintenance of the quality of the food products on the entire technical-economical circuit.storage, transport, trading, food products, quality

AbstractPhysical education plays a major role in young people's education, being considered as a “priority area of human formation and evolution”. This study aims at capturing the way young people appreciate formation and educational values of physical education for life.We have used the questionnaire enquiry applying a statistical mathematical interpretation. Questions were focused on the physical activity of a group of 80 individuals, aged between 16 and 20. Answers helped us to draw general pertinent conclusions concerning the influence of physical education on all education branches.Physical education determines major influences on human personality. The involvement of young individuals in different motor activities implies the integration of their way of thinking and behaving to their personality. Those who receive such an education become, in their turn, promoters of physical education as education factor

The bioelements detected in the lithosphere and biosphere have aroused major interest in geology and biology. It was detected in minerals but also in tissues taken from plants, animals and humans. Among the bioelements, the natural distribution of selenium (Se) was studied, following the quantity in food, the structural specificity of the components. Along with these, the biological activity was studied, following its integration in food supplements

Effects of ethanol on the hepatic DNA in materno-fetal complex and on the serum proteins in pregnant female rats

    Get PDF
Experimental investigations on the action of ethanol were performed on pregnant female rats and their fetuses. The Wistar strain pregnant rats were included into an experimental (E) and a control (C) group. Animals of experimental group received ethanol and thecontrol group consumed tap water. At the end of the experiment blood samples and liver samples were taken for analysis. In the present study there were pursued values of some biochemical parameters, i.e. maternal and fetal hepatic DNA concentration, maternal serumproteins and electrophoretic fractions (albumins as well as ι-, β- and γ-globulins). The obtained data revealed a statistically non-signifiant increase of hepatic DNA both in mothers and fetuses of experimental group. Serumproteins concentration in the pregnant rats showed a significant increase. Regarding the electrophoretic fractions, a decrease of albumins and increase of globulins were observed . As to globulin subfractions a hyper-ι-globulinemia, hypo-β- and hypo-γ-globulinemia were revealed

Assessment of serum metallograms in patients with purine urolithiasis before and after treatment

Investigations on the homeostasis of the hydroelectrolytic metabolism is important in the assessment of the uroconcrements’ biogenesis and of the therapeutic effects (based on diverse procedures). Our investigations have been performed on patients with purine urolithiasis included in two groups, according to the applied treatment for the removal of the uroconcrements. A group included 23 patients who underwent surgical treatment and the other group included 18 patients treated with Extracorporeal Shock-Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). Before and after the therapeutic procedure the serum metallograms of the main alkaline (Na, K) and alkaline-earth (Ca, Mg) metals were determined by using spectrophotometry. The obtained results revealed post-treatment changes in the serum metallogram as follows: increase of natriemia and calcemia; decrease of kaliemia and magnesiemia in both groups. The find data show the dyshomeostasis of the main alkaline and alkaline-earth metals after the treatment underlying their implication in urolithogenesis

Validation of a New Prognostic Score in Patients with Ovarian Adenocarcinoma

Background and Objectives: This study aimed to assess the impact of clinical prognostic factors and propose a prognostic score that aids the clinician’s decision in estimating the risk for patients in clinical practice. Materials and Methods: The study included 195 patients diagnosed with ovarian adenocarcinoma. The therapeutic strategy involved multidisciplinary decisions: surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy (80%), neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery (16.4%), and only chemotherapy in selected cases (3.6%). Results: After a median follow-up of 68 months, in terms of progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS), Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status of 1 and 2 vs. 0 (hazard ratio—HR = 2.71, 95% confidence interval—CI, 1.96–3.73, p < 0.001 for PFS and HR = 3.19, 95%CI, 2.20–4.64, p < 0.001 for OS), menopausal vs. premenopausal status (HR = 2.02, 95%CI, 1.35–3,0 p < 0.001 and HR = 2.25, 95%CI = 1.41–3.59, p < 0.001), ascites (HR = 1.95, 95%CI 1.35–2.80, p = 0.03, HR = 2.31, 95%CI = 1.52–3.5, p < 0.007), residual disease (HR = 5.12, 95%CI 3.43–7.65, p < 0.0001 and HR = 4.07, 95%CI = 2.59–6.39, p < 0.0001), and thrombocytosis (HR = 2.48 95%CI = 1.72–3.58, p < 0.0001, HR = 3.33, 95%CI = 2.16–5.13, p < 0.0001) were associated with a poor prognosis. An original prognostic score including these characteristics was validated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves (area under the curve—AUC = 0.799 for PFS and AUC = 0.726 for OS, p < 0.001). The median PFS for patients with none, one, two, three, or four (or more) prognostic factors was not reached, 70, 36, 20, and 12 months, respectively. The corresponding median overall survival (OS) was not reached, 108, 77, 60, and 34 months, respectively. Conclusions: Several negative prognostic factors were identified: ECOG performance status ≥ 1, the presence of ascites and residual disease after surgery, thrombocytosis, and menopausal status. These led to the development of an original prognostic score that can be helpful in clinical practice
