A new species of Cronisia Berkeley (Corsiniaceae) from Mexico
A new species of Cronisia with sessile dorsal female involucres is described from Mexico. This plant, C. mexicana, is compared to C. paradoxa and to other species with similarly placed female involucres

Occupational Therapy’s Role in Early Language Development of Babies and Young Children
Occupational therapy practitioners in their interactions with babies, young children and their families, can be change-agents who promote rich language environments as a foundation to social interactions, social participation and academic successes. OTPs may be the sole provider working with a family or may reinforce with families the plan of care developed by speech-language pathologists (SLP) or early intervention teachers. The first step for OTPs is deeper knowledge of the importance of early language exposure, social interaction and participation development in young children and approaches that promotes rich language environments
How to measure mood in nutrition research
© 2014 The Authors. Mood is widely assessed in nutrition research, usually with rating scales. A core assumption is that positive mood reinforces ingestion, so it is important to measure mood well. Four relevant theoretical issues are reviewed: (i) the distinction between protracted and transient mood; (ii) the distinction between mood and emotion; (iii) the phenomenology of mood as an unstable tint to consciousness rather than a distinct state of consciousness; (iv) moods can be caused by social and cognitive processes as well as physiological ones. Consequently, mood is difficult to measure and mood rating is easily influenced by non-nutritive aspects of feeding, the psychological, social and physical environment where feeding occurs, and the nature of the rating system employed. Some of the difficulties are illustrated by reviewing experiments looking at the impact of food on mood. The mood-rating systems in common use in nutrition research are then reviewed, the requirements of a better mood-rating system are described, and guidelines are provided for a considered choice of mood-rating system including that assessment should: have two main dimensions; be brief; balance simplicity and comprehensiveness; be easy to use repeatedly. Also mood should be assessed only under conditions where cognitive biases have been considered and controlled

Correlation and Dimerization Effects on the Physical Behavior of the Charge Transfer Salts : A DMRG Study of the Quarter-Filling t-J Model
The present work studies the quasi one-dimensional -based
compounds within a correlated model. More specifically, we focus our attention
on the composed influence of the electronic dimerization-factor and the
repulsion, on the transport properties and the localization of the electronic
density in the ground-state. Those properties are studied through the
computation of the charge gaps (difference between the ionization potential and
the electro-affinity: IP-EA) and the long- and short-bond orders of an infinite
quarter-filled chain within a model. The comparison between the
computed gaps and the experimental activation energy of the semiconductor
allows us to estimate the on-site electronic
repulsion of the molecule to .Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, RevTe
