    Snow cover in support of development of winter tourism activities in Muntele Băișorii resort

    The paper presents the characteristics of snow cover in Muntele Băişorii resort expressed on the basis of analyzing the data from meteorological observation from Băişoara station during 1961-2007 and processed on the basis of classic methodology used in climatological studies. Analyzing the values of the main parameters characterizing the snow cover was found that it enables and promotes winter tourism activities, that is why we have proposed new types of winter tourist activities such as ski touring, which would help diversify and increase the tourist flow in the resort

    CONSERVATING THE TRADITIONAL CELLARS OF SALACEA, BIHOR COUNTY, ROMANIA

    This paper argues for the enhanced utilization of the built heritage in the case of the unique cellars of Salacea, Bihor Country which is called „the village of 1000 cellars„. The research analysis of the cellars includes field investigations, study of existing bibliography, air-photo interpretation. For examining the architectureal plans, facades and volumes use was made of software such as: Archicad 22 R1 INT version 22.0.0.3006, Artlantis (2017) 6.5 version 6.5.2.14, Adobe Illustrator CC (2017) version 21.1.0 and Adobe Photoshop CC (2015) version 16.1, and for processing the photos Adobe Lightroom version 6.12. Cartographic materials have been processed in 3D Studio Max, Corel Draw and Corel Photopaint. The use of spatial data allowed identification and analysis of important aspect for understanding the territorial reality. The study identifies two authentic models of cellars that could be exploited for their heritage potential for tourism development and a source of income for the local area

    Cultural events have a significant influence on the local economy. Cultural festivals can attract tourists, extend the tourist season and add vitality to a city. However, there is relatively little research on how festivals influence a destinat ion's tourist experience or outcomes, such as satisfaction. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the tourist perception of the participants on the Night of the Museums event held in Oradea municipality, Bihor County, Romania, assuming that a good tourist perception among the population can represent an element of identity for a destination, thus contributing to the increase of its capacity to attract tourists. The results emphasize the positive effects at the socio-cultural level. The festival provides multiple possibilities to spend free time in a pleasant way, it sustains the development of cultural life, a nd it improves the educational and the cultural level of community

    Investigations concerning the influence of sports trainings carried out in a protected area (Natura 2000 site) on various physiological and biological parameters for athletes

    The study propose a comparative analysis of biochemical and physiological parameters and their dynamics in athletes training in two different locations: the campus stadium in the Oradea University and a protected area- Valea Roşie Natura 2000 site. The research was conducted between 31st of May 2016 –9th of June 2016 on the players of a female volleyball team of Oradea’s University Sport Club, aged between 18 and 24. We used Polar RC3 heart rate monitor, monitoring: distance travelled in each exercise, duration, calories consumed, heart rate, minimum and maximum altitude. After the effort, biological samples were taken, analysing the following indices: Creatine kinase (CK), Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and Sideremia; the data interpretation and the results highlighted that organizing outdoor trainings in sites like Natura 2000 has a favourable influence on the biochemical parameters, had a contribution to "breaking" the routine and being a motivating factor for athletes in their activity

    The study aims to identify the tourist guide’s role and importance, as a mediator between demand and supply, between tourists and local collectivities in the support of local economy and sustainable tourism, within tourist destinations’ areas. The current study was meant to highlight the degree to which tourist guides of Romania promote and abide by the sustainability issues in their guiding activity. This fact emerges alongside the development and expanding of tourist activities and subsequently human pressure on the natural milieu. A close-questions’ questionnaire was applied to seventy national tourist guides, with a national geographical coverage of over 50%, who participated at the annual national tourist guides’ conference of Oradea city in the year 2017. The results showed that, in their guiding activity, guides promote host-guest interractions, encourage tourists to buy products from locals and care about vulnerable destinations
