Varastoinnin ongelmat ja ratkaisuehdotukset : Case: Pedro Oy

Tämän opinnäytetyön aiheena on varastoinnin kehittäminen. Tarkoituksena oli tunnistaa Pedro Oy:n varastoinnin ongelmakohtia nykytilakuvauksen perusteella sekä esittää kehitysehdotuksia. Lisäksi tarkoituksena oli esittää uusi layoutehdotelma case-yrityksen kumittamon tiloihin. Työn teoreettinen viitekehys käsittelee varastoinnin yleisiä periaatteita kuten varastoinnin syitä, varastonohjausta sekä materiaalitoimintoja. Lisäksi perehdytään tilasuunnittelun periaatteisiin sekä turvallisuuteen ja ergonomiaan. Tämän kvalitatiivisen opinnäytetyön tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin havainnointia. Tutkimus suoritettiin elo-syyskuussa 2010. Nykytilakartoitus aloitettiin kuvaamalla case-yrityksen tuotantotilat ja varastot pohjakuvien avulla. Tämän ja havainnollistavien valokuvien avulla tunnistettiin ongelmakohtia ja esitettiin niihin kehitysehdotuksia. Suurimmat yksittäiset ongelmakohdat liittyivät varastonhallintajärjestelmään ja tavaranvastaanottoprosesseihin, joita kehittämällä voitaisiin vaikuttaa myös muihin havaittuihin ongelmakohtiin kuten nimettyihin hyllypaikkoihin ja turhaan varastoitavan tavaran määrään. Lisäksi kehitysehdotuksia tehtiin mm. liittyen turvallisuusseikkoihin ja ergonomiaan. Kumittamossa on varastoinnin lisäksi kolme tuotannollista pistettä. Nykyisen layoutin ongelmakohtana ovat monimutkaiset ja osin risteävät materiaalivirrat varaston sekä tuotantopisteiden välillä. Layoutehdotelmassa pyrittiin yksinkertaistamaan materiaalivirtoja tuotantopisteiden ja hyllyjen uudelleensijoittelulla. Jatkossa varastointia voitaisiin kehittää tekemällä ABC-analyysi varaston tuotteista sekä laskea varaston kiertonopeutta, jolloin varaston tila olisi helpommin hallittavissa helpottaen myös ostotilausten tekoa.This thesis deals with improvement of warehousing. The purpose of this study was to identify problems concerning warehousing of Pedro Oy, based on the present functions and to make some improvement proposals to them. Additionally, the purpose was to make a proposal for a new kind of layout in the foam plastic storage. The theoretical basis of this thesis concentrates on the main principles of warehousing such as reasons for warehousing, warehouse management and material functions. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with a few principles of layout design, regarding safety and ergonomics in the warehouse. The research method of this qualitative study was observation. The study was carried out between August and September in 2010. For the empirical part of this study, the present state of the production- and warehouse facilities was described with the help of the ground plan. Based on this and the photos taken, some problems were identified and improvement proposals made. The main problems seemed to relate to the warehouse management system and processes of incoming goods. By solving problems in these areas some other problems could be solved as well. There are three production points in the foam plastic storage. The problems of the current layout are complicated and partly crossing material flows between production and storage. The new layoutdesign aims at more simple material flows by relocating shelves and production points. In the future the company could make an ABC-analysis and calculate the inventory turnover, which would help to manage the warehouse and also make purchasing easier
