    Background: Conjunctival impression cytology is a recent method to diagnose various eye diseases. Aim of this study is to observe the cellular changes in conjunctival superficial layer in various diseases of eye and establishing the diagnosis and helping in the management of the diseaseMethods: Cellulose acetate filter paper is used to take impression from the bulbar conjunctiva.Results: 80 cases were studied for a span of 3 years.Conclusions: Conjunctival impression cytology is a useful method of screening, diagnosing and managing eye disease

    Sickle cell disease in the tribal population attending tertiary referral centre in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh

    Background: sickle cell anaemia is a haemoglobin disorder which is autosomal recessive. As it is inherited disorder it is prevalent more in tribal population of India. Surguja district of Chhattisgarh also has a predominance o of tribal population. Aim: Aim of this study is to find the incidence of sickle cell disease in the tribal population attending the tertiary referral hospital of surguja district. Material and method: This is a retrospective study of a span of 3years from April 2013 to March 2016. A total of 5489 anaemic patients were tested. Result: out of 5489 anaemic patients 399 were positive for sickle cell. Conclusion: Education and counselling should be done to prevent sickle cell disease among the tribal of surguja district of chattisgarh

    Lipid profile level in oral cancer and its significance on histological grade

    Introduction: Oral cancer is one of the commonest cancer in India. Its early detection can prevent morbidity and motality. Aim of this study is to estimate the lipid profile level in oral cancer and its significance on histopathological grade. Material and method: 70 patients with established oral squamous cell carcinoma were taken in the study and their lipid profile analysed. Result: lipid profile had an inverse relationship with oral cancer with no significant relation with histopathological grade. Conclusion: lipid profile estimation is a cost effective method to detect oral cancer

    CT Guided FNAC of lung mass – A retrospective study of Disease Spectrum

    CT guided FNAC is a well established method in the cytological diagnosis of pulmonary lesion. Aim: Aim of our study is to evaluate the pathological spectrum of disease in lump through CT guided FNAC. Material & method: 69 causes were evaluated retrospectively for a period of 4 yrs. Result: out of 69 cases 52.1% were male. Mean age was 54. 34 years. 65.2% having malignant lesion & 34.7% have benign. Adeno CA was the predominant malignant tumour. Conclusion: CT guided FNAC can diagnose pulmonary lesion fairly accurately leading to less morbidity & mortality as treatment can be started early
