Development of innovative manufacturing technology : chain-die forming for ultra-high strength steels

In recent years, there is high demand for automotive manufacturers to design fuel-efficient vehicles without compromising passenger safety. One potential solution is to construct lighter vehicles using materials such as Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS). However, its high-strength properties result in the difficulty to form desired profiles using traditional sheet metal forming processes such as Cold Roll Forming. To overcome this problem, a potential solution of Chain-die Forming (CDF) was recently developed. The basic principle of the CDF is to fully combine roll forming and bending processes, and its primary advantage was the elongated deformation length which significantly increases effective roll radius. In this study, three case studies were conducted to develop a reliable finite element-based numerical model of CDF with Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS). These simulations demonstrated the effectiveness of this forming process while capturing the mechanical behaviours of AHSS. The numerical modelling and simulations served as Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools which determined tool geometries and to control unwanted springback. The experimental work conducted on novel 2nd Generation Chain-die forming machine. An automotive martensitic steel DOCOL 1400M from SAAB was adopted for this research as a typical AHSS material, which has a yielding strength of 1,150 MPa and a tensile strength of 1400-1600 MPa. According to the numerical simulations and experimental results obtained, CDF can be considered as an affordable, sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing process

Company ABC, established in 2009, has headquarters in Fremont, California. Company ABC branches out to NC and TX. It had visions to travel beyond horizons. Company ABC offers a wide range of IT services that are needed for business development like Staffing Solutions, Consulting, Software Development, Cloud Computing and many other services. Company ABC’s largest product is User Profile System (UPS). User Profile System store data on a server by creating logs. This makes the data hugely extensible and can be distributed across the clients very easily. Company ABC designs its consumer Profile System to collect modified information which can be explored easily. This is to not just listen to the clients but communicate with them and build trust. The UPS of Company ABC enable to run and allocate resources to especially definite set of applications. Here the historical data of the users is analyzed to generate updated users profile. Thus application can give away modified online services to end users in genuine time basis. The consumer Profile System provides hold up to billions of end user through number of varied applications with different necessities end logic. The system generalizes the requirements of online user-profile applications and creates a common conceptual stratum which meets the specific requirement. Microsoft SharePoint was being used by this application to customize and maintain websites. Various versions of SharePoint are used as critical document management repositories, customer extranets, business reporting tools, and many other use cases

Enormous generation of biological data and the need of analysis of that data led to the generation of the field Bioinformatics. Data mining is the stream which is used to derive, analyze the data by exploring the hidden patterns of the biological data. Though, data mining can be used in analyzing biological data such as genomic data, proteomic data here Gene Expression (GE) Data is considered for evaluation. GE is generated from Microarrays such as DNA and oligo micro arrays. The generated data is analyzed through the clustering techniques of data mining. This study deals with an implement the basic clustering approach K-Means and various clustering approaches like Hierarchal, Som, Click and basic fuzzy based clustering approach. Eventually, the comparative study of those approaches which lead to the effective approach of cluster analysis of GE.The experimental results shows that proposed algorithm achieve a higher clustering accuracy and takes less clustering time when compared with existing algorithms

Differentiable Rendering for Pose Estimation in Proximity Operations

Differentiable rendering aims to compute the derivative of the image rendering function with respect to the rendering parameters. This paper presents a novel algorithm for 6-DoF pose estimation through gradient-based optimization using a differentiable rendering pipeline. We emphasize two key contributions: (1) instead of solving the conventional 2D to 3D correspondence problem and computing reprojection errors, images (rendered using the 3D model) are compared only in the 2D feature space via sparse 2D feature correspondences. (2) Instead of an analytical image formation model, we compute an approximate local gradient of the rendering process through online learning. The learning data consists of image features extracted from multi-viewpoint renders at small perturbations in the pose neighborhood. The gradients are propagated through the rendering pipeline for the 6-DoF pose estimation using nonlinear least squares. This gradient-based optimization regresses directly upon the pose parameters by aligning the 3D model to reproduce a reference image shape. Using representative experiments, we demonstrate the application of our approach to pose estimation in proximity operations.Comment: AIAA SciTech Forum 2023, 13 pages, 9 figure

Robust control of redundantly actuated dynamical systems

The eigenstructure assignment scheme for robust multivariable feedback control is extended to redundantly actuated dynamical systems. It is shown that an orthonormal set of close loop eigenvectors is always exactly assignable in the case of redundant actuation proving the inherent robustness in the control design methodology. A choice of close loop eigenvector set to minimize the feedback gain matrix is suggested. Partial Eigenstructure Assignment methodology is proposed for second order mechanical systems. A methodology for coordinated actuation of redundant actuator sets by a trained weighted minimum norm solution is presented. To apply the methodology to hyper-redundant actuator arrays, for application to smart actuator arrays, a novel adaptive discretization algorithm is proposed. The adaptive aggregation strategy, based on the physics of the system, introduces nodes, to optimize a performance index of the overall plant model. The dimensionality of the inputs thus reduces to a finite number, making it a candidate plant for control by the robust redundant control scheme. The adaptive aggregation together with robust redundant control methodology is demonstrated on a finite element model of a novel morphing wing. This schema unifies the traditionally disparate methods of modeling and controller design
