Efficient actions carried out in technology transfer bring major benefits to all parties involved in the process.Increasing the technological endowment through the process of technological transfer from research to industrycontributes significantly to the improving of the economic growth rate at the national and regional levels.Universities and research institutions as providers of knowledge are able to supplement their incomes andachieve financial autonomy in order to conduct entrepreneurial activities and research. They can also obtainother collateral benefits such as attracting research contracts sponsored by some economic operators, the abilityto hire and retain top personnel and researchers. Romania, in terms of technology transfer and innovationactivities among economic operators, is still trying to catch the significant gap compared to other Europeancountries. In these conditions technology transfer processes must be well understood and put into practice bothat research institutions as well as at the economic agents

AbstractIn today's highly dynamic and competitive business environment, firms are exposed to strict challenges with meeting the ever- increasing market and customer needs and expectations. In order to ensure the competiveness and success of the organization managers need to accept innovation as a key element for the organization. However a major driver for innovation is HR and for innovation to be successful managers needs to support, plan for and nurture an innovation culture. Based on these aspects the authors of this paper propose a framework for HR development for innovation, to reach the actual performance of an organization. The purpose of this framework is to offer, to all managers, a clear picture of existing HR capacity to innovate and possibilities to develop this capacity in order to improve the organization's capacity for innovation, thus increasing their chances of success in today's highly dynamic and competitive business environment

Aspects regarding the efficiency of technology transfer from the national research institutes towards the industry in order to accelerate the development of Romanian economy

Currently, Romania is faced with problems regarding closing the deep economic gap between it and the rest of the EU members. In addition, Romania is concerned with overcoming the difficulties generated by the current economic crisis. The technology transfer of the research results from the scientific field towards the industry is one of the main leverages for the economic development, the innovation development and the competitiveness of the companies. At this point, Romania marks a very low transfer rate of technology between the research institutions and the economy. This is why, increasing and accelerating this rate becomes a vital element for the Romanian economy. The national research institutes are one of the most representative institutions of the national research and development system. With a high capacity of generating scientific results specific to certain national areas of expertise, their potential of transfering technology should be exploited and made more efficient. This paper presents a synthesis of the written works regarding the technology transfer, its role in the economic growth and the factors influencing its efficiency. The paper performs an analysis the current state of the national research institutes and formulates hypotheses regarding the causes leading to the low technology transfer rate, making suggestions on further research studies on how to turn this important process into a more efficient on

Innovation as a Part of an Existing Integrated Management System

AbstractThis paper approaches the need for innovation management in the context of an existing integrated management system implemented in an organization. During the last decade almost all companies have been certificated according to various management systems, like quality management system, environmental management system, health and safety management system and others; furthermore many companies have implemented an integrated management system, by integrating two or more management systems. The problem rising today is how to integrate innovation in this integrated management systems. The challenge of the problem is that the development of an innovation management system is in the early phase. In this paper we have studied the possibility of integrating some of the innovation request in an existing management system, we have identify the innovation performance request and we proposed some recommendations regarding innovation management and its implementation as a part of an integrated management system. This paper lies down the bases for developing an model of integration management systems that include innovation as a main part of it

Perspective of Using Magnesium Oxychloride Cement (MOC) and Wood as a Composite Building Material: A Bibliometric Literature Review

The building industry is known as one of the biggest consumers of natural resources and an important producer of CO2 emissions. The biggest greenhouse gas emissions are recorded in the production of cement and metallic building materials. The purpose of this paper is to investigate if magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC) can be used as an alternative to the ordinary Portland cement in the mixture of wood–cement composite building materials in order to decrease the negative impact of the construction industry on the environment. The research methodology includes bibliometric literature research, a scientometric analysis and an in-depth discussion. The data used for the research were obtained by interrogating the ISI Web of Science database, selected using the guidelines of the PRISMA method and processed with the help of VOSviewer and Bibliometrix software. The research results indicate an increasing interest in this topic; for example, in the last five years, three times more articles were published on the subject of MOC cement than the number of all articles collected in previous years. Compared to ordinary Portland cement, MOC cement presents a good match with wood, so MOC can be a substitute for ordinary cement to manufacture wood-cement particleboard, especially for the wood species that have high incompatibility with ordinary cement

Development and Operationalization of a Model of Innovation Management System as Part of an Integrated Quality-Environment-Safety System

The results of the research, presented in this article, have the purpose to contribute in the area of innovation management and its relation to other management systems. The research objective is to give to organizations a model of innovation management system as part of an integrated management system. Defining the model of innovation management system is based on the four perspectives of the balanced scorecard tool, namely: financial perspective, learning and development, internal processes and customers. In the process of defining the model several steps were taken, such as: literature review, data collection from the enterprise level through a questionnaire, analysis and correlation of data and finally the proposed model has been operationalized. In order to have a working model that can be easily adopted by any interested company, the research was deepen to the organizational processes, identifying nine processes specific for innovation that exist in an organization. Each of the nine processes have been operationalized using a SIPOC model (Suppliers − Inputs − Process − Outputs − Customers). The system for managing innovation may therefore have a positive influence on the ability and awareness of enterprises in innovation actions, and by defining this model the research conducted in this article helps to improve the efficiency of innovation, with direct implications in business performance

The Relationship between Innovation and Sustainability: A Bibliometric Review of the Literature

The research conducted in this paper is directed towards a bibliometric review and a visualization analysis of the relationship between innovation and sustainability. The main objective is to empirically document the intellectual structure, the volume and the knowledge-development directions. For this objective, we used the VOS Viewer software and the scientific databases ISI Web of Science (WoS). We identify that there is a big increase in volume of articles on innovation and sustainability published in the last 10 years, from 2010 up to 2019, compared to the entire period before 2010. Given the large amount of the literature, we form an ample database of 436 peer-reviewed articles published in the last 10 years. The bibliometric analysis reveals the most influential journals, authors and papers in the studied field. This research reveals that by combining the main aspects of innovation and sustainability in a single concept like “sustainable innovation”, an emerging topic can appear, and it can offer new research directions in the very big field of innovation and in the new and actual field of sustainability

Calculation of the main parameters involved in the combustion process of CH

    No full text
By setting clear targets for reducing pollutant emissions, the researchers in the field of combustion are pushed lately to find new alternatives for cleaner combustion. The partial or total transition to other types of fuels, such as hydrogen, involves substantial changes in the combustion process and possible necessary constructive changes. In the study of the combustion of CH4-H2 mixtures, both numerically and experimentally, preliminary calculations are required, which will help to easily establish the parameters and working regimes and then to use for verifying the results. This paper aims to find an easier method of calculating these parameters, depending on the percentage of gas in the fuel mixture. The calculated values resulted this way will lead to some logical estimates of important aspects of combustion, such as flame field and temperature variation, related to the variation of the amount of hydrogen in the mixture. The method can be a useful tool in the preliminary design of a combustion chamber for CH4-H2 mixtures
