Aplicação do método da jurisprudência comentando em formação especializada em direito
The method of case law commenting is a method of teaching and training in the field of law that is widely applied in many advanced countries around the world. Different from the traditional lecture method, in the teaching method of case commenting, theoretical teaching will be carried out in parallel with precedents that are searched and selected to explain and illustrate the lesson. The article analyzes case law and the role of applying the method of case law commenting in law specialized training. On that basis, the article proposes the structure and method of implementing the case law commenting method in law specialized training.El método de comentario sobre jurisprudencia es un método de enseñanza y capacitación en el campo del derecho que se aplica ampliamente en muchos países avanzados de todo el mundo. From Disfluency Detection to Intent Detection and Slot Filling
We present the first empirical study investigating the influence of
disfluency detection on downstream tasks of intent detection and slot filling.
We perform this study for Vietnamese -- a low-resource language that has no
previous study as well as no public dataset available for disfluency detection.
First, we extend the fluent Vietnamese intent detection and slot filling
dataset PhoATIS by manually adding contextual disfluencies and annotating them.
Then, we conduct experiments using strong baselines for disfluency detection
and joint intent detection and slot filling, which are based on pre-trained
language models. We find that: (i) disfluencies produce negative effects on the
performances of the downstream intent detection and slot filling tasks, and
(ii) in the disfluency context, the pre-trained multilingual language model
XLM-R helps produce better intent detection and slot filling performances than
the pre-trained monolingual language model PhoBERT, and this is opposite to
what generally found in the fluency context.Comment: In Proceedings of INTERSPEECH 202
Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty in Patients Who Exceeded Their Life-Expectancy: A Retrospective Study
BACKGROUND
Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) has become an established treatment for cuff arthropathy, severe osteoarthritis and in certain fracture cases. Due to the increasingly aging population, patients who have already exceeded their life-expectancy pose a significant challenge to the shoulder surgeon.
METHODS
Patients older than 83 years who received a RTSA were included. Elective cases were compared to fracture cases. Patient demographics, hospital stay length, complication rate, functional outcome, patient reported outcome scores and mortality were assessed retrospectively.
RESULTS
We included 110 cases, 48 in the elective group and 62 in the fracture group. The average age at time of surgery was 86.6 ± 3.5 years. Mean follow-up was 30 months. Elective cases had a significant shorter hospital stay length (P = .014). Functional outcome scores showed better results for the elective group with ASES 79 ± 12 vs 69 ± 19 (P = .07), QuickDASH 29 ± 16 vs 37 ± 21 (P = .22), subjective shoulder value 86 ± 14 vs 75 ± 19 (P = .04*) and VAS .7 ± 1.5 vs 2.1 ± 2.5 (P = .02*). There was no significant difference in ROM and mean quality-adjusted-life-years (QALY) with 3.2 ± 1.8 vs 3.5 ± 2.5 years (P = .69). The complication rate requiring surgical intervention was 2.4% in the elective and 6.5% in the fracture group. The 1-year mortality was 3 (6%) respectively 9 (15%).
CONCLUSION
RTSA in elderly patients can be successful with good functional outcomes. Age should not be a contraindication. Instead, the patient's activity level and quality of life should be taken into account. Elective RTSA show better functional outcome scores and lower complication rates compared to RTSA in proximal humeral fractures
Investigate the Structural Response of Ultra High Performance Concrete Column under the High Explosion
Most of the structures that are damaged by an explosion are not initially designed to resist this kind of load. In the overall structure of any building, columns play an important role to prevent the collapse of frame structure under blast impact. Hence, the main concept in the blast resistance design of the structure is to improve the blast load capacity of the column. In this study, dynamic analysis and numerical model of Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) column under high explosive load, is presented. Based on the Johnson Holmquist 2 damage model and the subroutine in the ABAQUS platform, a total of twenty UHPC model of the column were calculated. The objective of the article is to investigate the structural response of the UHPC column and locate the most vulnerable scenarios to propose necessary recommendations for the UHPC column in the blast loading resistance design. The input parameters, including the effect of various shapes of cross-section, scaled distance, steel reinforcement ratio, and cross-section area, are analyzed to clarify the dynamic behavior of the UHPC column subjected to blast loading. Details of the numerical data, and the discussion on the important obtained results, are also provided in this paper

Natural frequency analysis of cracked beam
The model of cracked one-dimensional structure has been treated as two uniform beams connected by an equivalent rotation spring at the crack location. The frequency equation in bending vibration of the system is obtained in general form for arbitrary boundary conditions at both ends used for analysing the natural frequencies as function of crack position and magnitude. This investigation allows to carry out general procedure for identification of position as well as magnitude of the crack by natural frequencies measured experimentally
