Proportional integral observer design for time delay nonlinear triangular systems

    No full text
International audienceIn this work an proportional integral observer for a class of delayed nonlinear triangular systems with multiple and simple time-delay is proposed. First, the proportional integral observer synthesis is presented for nonlinear systems with variable time-delay and is extended for nonlinear systems with multiple time-delay. The observer performance is evaluated through numerical simulations

Adaptive observer design for a class of delayed parabolic systems

    No full text
International audienceA new adaptive observer is proposed for a class of uncertain time-delay parabolic systems. The uncertainties are located in both state equation and the output equation which is also subjected to a distributed delay. Our algorithm is based on Backstepping-like transformation and a classical persistent excitation condition. To illustrate the performances of this observer, simulations results are provided

    Reduced-order observer-predictor design for a class of output-delayed systems

    No full text
International audienceIn this paper, the problem of nonlinear reduced-order observer-predictor design for a class of systems with constant output-delay is discussed. The proposed observer design is an extension of our previous work. This extension, based on a Lyapunov analysis, consists in synthesising a reduced order predictor observer in order to limit calculations as much as possible while guaranteeing an exponential convergence. Comparing to other observer designs, ours is characterised by a simpler structure with only one synthesis parameter. A relation between this parameter and the maximum value of the constant delay, which ensures the global exponential convergence, is established. To show the efficiency of our proposed approach, numerical simulations have been performed on both an academic example and a well-known benchmark

Sampled-data observer for supercapacitor parameters estimation under NEDC cycles

    No full text
International audienceIn this paper, a parameters estimation method of a supercapacitor is proposed through NEDC cycles. The goal is to provide a fast and good online estimation of key parameters (resistance and capacitance) as they are useful for estimating of its State Of Charge (SOF) and State Of Health (SOH). A newcontinuous-discrete nonlinear observer is designed to estimate, both states and parameters using sampled measurements. This observer is proved to be globally exponentially convergent by a sufficient condition about the sampling time. Experimental results highlight good performances of the observer in online parameters estimation

A new sampled-data observer design for bioreactors

International audienceIn this paper, an inter-sampled observer-predictor is designed for a class of system which is characterized by sampled data measurements. The main drawback of numerous approaches lead to small or limited sampled time period, which is an important point in industrial processes. To overcomethis difficulty, we propose a modified inter-sampled observer-predictor which ensures an exponential convergence and gives the ability to push the sampled time period to its limit. Comparing to other observer structures, our design is characterized by its simplicity because we only need a tuning gain. Our main contribution is to show that our modified observer allows to widen the sampling period as much as possible, while guaranteeing the exponential convergence of our observer. The effectiveness of our proposed approach is shown through numerical simulations which have been performed on a well-known bioreactor example

Parameter Dependent H∞ Controller Design by Finite Dimensional LMI Optimization: Application to Trade-off Dependent Control

    No full text
International audienceThe design of a parameter dependent H∞ controller for a parameter dependent plant is considered. A solution can be proposed as a parameter dependent LMI optimization problem, that is, an infinite dimensional problem. In the case of rational dependence, an approach is proposed involving an optimization problem over parameter independent LMI constraints (which is finite dimensional). The obtained conditions are less conservative than previous ones. An application to the trade-off dependent controller design with the control of a DC motor is developed to emphasize the interest of our approach
