The title compound, C8H9ClN4S, which has potential insecticidal activity, was synthesized by the reaction of 2-chloro-5-methylnicotinaldehyde and thiosemicarbazide. In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked via intermolecular N—H⋯N, N—H⋯S and N—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network stacked down a

Weak decays of BcB_c into two hadrons under flavor SU(3) symmetry

A large number of BcB_c meson events have been recorded at the LHCb detector, especially some two-body hadronic decay modes. We analyzed the weak decays of the BcB_c meson into two hadron states under the flavor SU(3) symmetry. The relations among amplitudes of BcB_c into D+P(V) D+P(V), B+P(V)B+P(V), P(V)+P(V)P(V)+P(V), T8+Tˉ8T_8+\bar T_8 and T10+Tˉ10T_{10}+\bar T_{10} were investigated systematically, where PP ( VV) denotes a light pseudoscalar (vector) meson and T8,10T_{8,10} denotes a light baryon. The ηη\eta-\eta' mixing and ωϕ\omega-\phi mixing effects are also considered for the phenomenological discussions. We obtained the relations among decay widths of different BcB_c decay channels. These results are helpful to study the two-body decay properties of the BcB_c meson and test the flavor SU(3) symmetry.Comment: 11 pages, 1 figure and 10 tables. To be published in EPJ

The Time Course of Age-related Emotional Preference in Task-irrelevant Affective Processing

Studies of the age-related positivity effect have demonstrated that older adults have a generalized preference to positive stimuli or avoidance to negative stimuli compared with younger adults. However, it remains unclear when and how this positive effect occurs in task-irrelevant affective processing in the aging brain. The present study investigated age-related emotional preference in one task-irrelevant affective stimuli processing by event-related brain potentials (ERPs) measurement with a specific focus on the time course of older adults' emotional processing and regulation. Younger and older adults completed a modified oddball task in which the deviant stimuli were affective faces. In the relatively early time window, the brain activities were not modulated by emotional valence in younger adults, yet the sad stimuli elicited a larger P3a than the happy and neutral ones in older adults. In the late time window, the sad stimuli elicited a larger positive slow wave than the happy stimuli in younger adults. Contrarily, at the later processing stage older adults' valence differences were eliminated. In general, we found time course differences in how older adults processed task-irrelevant affective stimuli compared, with the young, and an age-related positivity effect occurred in the late time window, manifested as a negativity preference in younger and no preferences in older adults. These results provided evidence for supporting socioemotional selectivity theory from an ERP approach

Geometry and optics calibration of WFCTA prototype telescopes using star light

The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory project is proposed to study high energy gamma ray astronomy ( 40 GeV-1 PeV ) and cosmic ray physics ( 20 TeV-1 EeV ). The wide field of view Cherenkov telescope array, as a component of the LHAASO project, will be used to study energy spectrum and compositions of cosmic ray by measuring the total Cherenkov light generated by air showers and shower maximum depth. Two prototype telescopes have been in operation since 2008. The pointing accuracy of each telescope is crucial to the direction reconstruction of the primary particles. On the other hand the primary energy reconstruction relies on the shape of the Cherenkov image on the camera and the unrecorded photons due to the imperfect connections between photomultiplier tubes. UV bright stars are used as point-like objects to calibrate the pointing and to study the optical properties of the camera, the spot size and the fractions of unrecorded photons in the insensitive areas of the camera.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Chinese Physics
