Difficulties in Translating Political Speeches of A.Hitler

Šajā bakalaura darbā pētītas tulkošanas problēmas, par eksemplārisku piemēru izmantojot Ā. Hitlera politiskās runas. Kultūras un lingvistiskas atšķirības sekmē vērienīgas teksta semantikas izmaiņas angļu tulkojumā. Daļa sākotnējās semantikas tiek zaudēta un lasītājam oriģinālteksta nozīme nav pieejama. No šīm problēmām var izvairīties, jo tulkojumu iespējams ievērojami uzlabot. Jēdzienu un neoloģismu tulkošana ir sarežģīta, bet šīs problēmas var risināt ar viegli uztveramu jaunvārdu ieviešanu un papildinformācijas pievienošanu. Šīs grūtības šķiet neizbēgamas, tomēr minētās stratēģijas palīdzēs mazināt informācijas zudumu. Because of cultural but also linguistic differences, the translation into English changes and loses part of the original meaning so that the reader will miss information of the source text. This happens in terms of linguistic, cultural and aesthetical aspects. Most of these difficulties seem avoidable as the existing translation could be considerably improved. Furthermore terms and neologisms difficult to translate can be helped with by inventing understandable word creation whilst translating into English and by adding background information to explain the culture context. These difficulties seem unavoidable, however, the strategies mentioned would help reducing the loss of information for someone dependent on a translation.
