    Entropy generation in MHD mixed convection stagnation-point flow in the presence of joule and frictional heating

    This article looks at the second law analysis of MHD boundary layer stagnation-point flow past over linearly stretched sheet. The thermal boundary condition is supposed to be non-isothermal and the effects of friction and Joule heating have been analysed. By using similarity transformations, the model nonlinear partial differential equations in two independent variables are reduced to ordinary differential equations. The numerical techniques, namely shooting and fourth order Runge-Kutta are used to give a numerical solution. An expression for dimensionless entropy generation and Bejan number are obtained and computed using velocity and temperature profiles. The main objective of this article is to analyse the effects of a magnetic parameter, Prandtl number, Eckert number, stretching parameter, mixed convection parameter and dimensionless temperature parameter on the volumetric rate of entropy production and Bejan number. It is found that entropy generation increases with enhancing values stretching parameter and decrease with the increasing values of dimensionless temperature parameter.     Local Non-Similar Solutions for Boundary Layer Flow over a Nonlinear Stretching Surface with Uniform Lateral Mass Flux: Utilization of Third Level of Truncation

    The present study aims to examine the effects of uniform lateral mass flux on the boundary layer flow induced by a non-linearly stretching surface. For uniform mass flux, the boundary layer flow does not conform to a similarity solution. The problem may be resolved by the similarity solution only when the transverse velocity at the boundary of the porous stretching surface is of the form (Formula presented.) In other words, the flow becomes non-similar; to date, this has not been reported in the literature. That is why, in the current study, the local-similarity approximation up to the third level of truncation is utilized to solve the problem. The pseudo-similarity variable, stream function and transformed streamwise coordinate are defined such that the continuity equation is identically satisfied, and the momentum equation reduces to a non-similar dimensionless boundary layer equation. We derived the non-similar equations of the first, second and third levels of truncations and compared the numerical results obtained from different levels of truncations. In order to find numerical solutions to these equations, the built-in MATLAB routine, known as bvp4c, is used. Further, all non-similar terms that appear in the momentum equations are retained without any approximations. The approximations are introduced only in the subsidiary equations and relative boundary conditions. For the case of suction, the rate of increase in the numerical values of skin friction coefficient obtained from the first level of truncation with increasing velocity index parameter is found to be underestimated, while overestimation is found in the case of injection. The numerical results that were obtained from the third level of truncations are plotted against the embedding physical parameters and are then discussed. © 2022 by the authors

    Ultratrace determination of Cr(VI) and Pb(II) by microsample injection system flame atomic spectroscopy in drinking water and treated and untreated industrial effluents

    Simple and robust analytical procedures were developed for hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) and lead (Pb(II)) by dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) using microsample injection system coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (MIS-FAAS). For the current study, ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC), carbon tetrachloride, and ethanol were used as chelating agent, extraction solvent, and disperser solvent, respectively. The effective variables of developed method have been optimized and studied in detail. The limit of detection of Cr(VI) and Pb(II) were 0.037 and 0.054 µg/L, respectively. The enrichment factors in both cases were 400 with 40 mL of initial volumes. The relative standard deviations (RSDs, n=6) were 4%. The applicability and the accuracy of DLLME were estimated by the analysis of Cr(VI) and Pb(II) in industrial effluent wastewater by standard addition method (recoveries >96%). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of Cr(VI) and Pb(II) at ultratrace levels in natural drinking water and industrial effluents wastewater of Denizli.     The collaborative outcomes study on health and functioning during infection times in adults (COH-FIT-Adults): Design and methods of an international online survey targeting physical and mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    . High-quality comprehensive data on short-/long-term physical/mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are needed. . The Collaborative Outcomes study on Health and Functioning during Infection Times (COH-FIT) is an international, multi-language (n=30) project involving >230 investigators from 49 countries/territories/regions, endorsed by national/international professional associations. COH-FIT is a multi-wave, on-line anonymous, cross-sectional survey [wave 1: 04/2020 until the end of the pandemic, 12 months waves 2/3 starting 6/24 months threreafter] for adults, adolescents (14-17), and children (6-13), utilizing non-probability/snowball and representative sampling. COH-FIT aims to identify non-modifiable/modifiable risk factors/treatment targets to inform prevention/intervention programs to improve social/health outcomes in the general population/vulnerable subgrous during/after COVID-19. In adults, co-primary outcomes are change from pre-COVID-19 to intra-COVID-19 in well-being (WHO-5) and a composite psychopathology P-Score. Key secondary outcomes are a P-extended score, global mental and physical health. Secondary outcomes include health-service utilization/functioning, treatment adherence, functioning, symptoms/behaviors/emotions, substance use, violence, among others. . Starting 04/26/2020, up to 14/07/2021 >151,000 people from 155 countries/territories/regions and six continents have participated. Representative samples of ≥1,000 adults have been collected in 15 countries. Overall, 43.0% had prior physical disorders, 16.3% had prior mental disorders, 26.5% were health care workers, 8.2% were aged ≥65 years, 19.3% were exposed to someone infected with COVID-19, 76.1% had been in quarantine, and 2.1% had been COVID 19-positive. .     Validation of the Collaborative Outcomes study on Health and Functioning during Infection Times (COH-FIT) questionnaire for adults.

    The Collaborative Outcome study on Health and Functioning during Infection Times (COH-FIT; www.coh-fit.com) is an anonymous and global online survey measuring health and functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this study was to test concurrently the validity of COH-FIT items and the internal validity of the co-primary outcome, a composite psychopathology "P-score". The COH-FIT survey has been translated into 30 languages (two blind forward-translations, consensus, one independent English back-translation, final harmonization). To measure mental health, 1-4 items ("COH-FIT items") were extracted from validated questionnaires (e.g. Patient Health Questionnaire 9). COH-FIT items measured anxiety, depressive, post-traumatic, obsessive-compulsive, bipolar and psychotic symptoms, as well as stress, sleep and concentration. COH-FIT Items which correlated r ≥ 0.5 with validated companion questionnaires, were initially retained. A P-score factor structure was then identified from these items using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) on data split into training and validation sets. Consistency of results across languages, gender and age was assessed. From >150,000 adult responses by May 6th, 2022, a subset of 22,456 completed both COH-FIT items and validated questionnaires. Concurrent validity was consistently demonstrated across different languages for COH-FIT items. CFA confirmed EFA results of five first-order factors (anxiety, depression, post-traumatic, psychotic, psychophysiologic symptoms) and revealed a single second-order factor P-score, with high internal reliability (ω = 0.95). Factor structure was consistent across age and sex. COH-FIT is a valid instrument to globally measure mental health during infection times.
