Background: Breast self-examination (BSE) is a preventive and easy way for people to keep an eye on the health of their breasts. People who routinely examine their breasts may be able to identify changes or abnormalities at an early stage, which may help in the early diagnosis of breast cancer. This self-care routine encourages an active approach to breast health and actively participate in their own well-being. Objectives of the study were assessment of the knowledge and attitude on breast self-examination among female college students, to assess the major barrier to perform breast self-examination, and to assess the impact of pharmacist mediated education program on breast cancer. Methods: This study is an interventional cross-sectional community based-survey. 1007 students’ female college students at Adichuchanagiri University in B. G. Nagar belonging to 18-33 years were chosen at random using stratified sampling. Knowledge, attitude on breast cancer. Data was analyzed using statistical package for the social science (SPSS) version 25. Results: In pre-test out of 1007 students 251 students had good knowledge about breast self-examination. In post-test 1006 members had good knowledge about breast self-examination. In our study statistical relation found between pre and post questionnaires (p=0.001). Conclusions: The study emphasizes how important it is to launch educational programs to increase awareness of breast self-examination. Additionally, awareness needs to be raised by removing known barriers. It is important to encourage women in the community to self-examine their breasts and to report any changes to a doctor as soon as possible

Design of SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface) Protocol with DO-254 Compliance

    Get PDF
The objective is to design the SPI protocol compliant with avionic hardware design standards (D0-254). This is to make sure that the protocol follows the most stringent standards so as to develop a fool proof design that would be highly reliable and would not fail under conventional circumstances. The significance of this project is designing the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) protocol in the DO-254 flow which is an industry standard used for the hardware process. Using DO-254 standards SPI is coded in Verilog. Single Master-Single Slave, Independent Slave configuration, Daisy Chain configuration all the three designs are designed following the rule sets of DO254. It is verified using the assertion based verification (ABV) or System Verilog Assertions (SVA)

Wear characterization of Al 7075 alloy hybrid composites

    Get PDF
Aluminium alloy hybrid composites are in high demand for advanced scientific applications due to their high strength, low weight, and enhanced tribological properties. A hybrid composite of aluminium alloy (Al7075) and aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and E-glass shot fibres was produced using a sand moulding technique in an electric resistance furnace. The objective of this research was to look at the wear characteristics of Al7075-Al2O3-E-glass hybrid composites with various Al2O3 (3-12%) and E-glass weight percentages (2-6 percent). The sliding distance (500, 1000, and 1500 m), load (10, 20, and 30N), Al2O3 (3, 6, and 9 %), and E-glass (2-6 %) are the wear characteristics that are considered. Wear testing is carried out using pin-on-disc equipment (WTE 165 model, Version-EV00) in line with the Taguchi L9 orthogonal array. Taguchi analysis was done on the collected data to find SN plots. Regression analysis was done along with ANOVA to find relationships between different factors selected. In order to reduce the wear rate of hybrid composites, the optimal wear parameters are determined. As the percentage of reinforcements increased, the rate of deterioration decreased. SEM scans revealed the attachment and displacement of unintended wear debris, as well as the uniform distribution of Al2O3/E-glass particles

Pulsed electric field processing of functional drink based on tender coconut water (Cococus nucifera L.) - nannari (Hemidesmus indicus) blended beverage

Tender coconut water (Cocos nucifera L.) Nannari extract (Hemidesmus indicus L.) ready-to serve (RTS) blended beverage were optimised. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize the levels of independent variables (levels of tender coconut water, nannari extract and sugar). The responses of pH, ºBrix, CIE colour (L*, a* and b*) value and OAA were studied. The data obtained were analysed by multiple regression technique to generate suitable mathematical models. The developed blended beverage was processed using pulsed electric field (PEF) with electric field 31.2 kV/cm, 20 pulse widths at 100 Hz frequency to minimise nutritional and sensory attributes losses and compared with conventional thermal pasteurization (96 ºC for 360 s) with p-value of 8.03. Thermal pasteurization showed a significant (p<0.05) decrease in colour value, radical scavenging activity and overall acceptability after treatment and also during storage, when compared to PEF treated tender coconut water-nannari blended beverage. PEF treatment also achieved a 3.01 ± 0.69 log inactivation, similar to thermal pasteurization of native micro flora. PEF treated tender coconut water-nannari blended beverage was stable up to 120 days under ambient storage condition (27-30 °C)

Decoding pituitary tumors: a systematic analysis of diagnostic methods and treatment modalities

    Get PDF
Pituitary tumors are growths that form in the gland these tumors are rare representing 10-15% of all brain tumors. They can disrupt the production of hormones, in the body leading to symptoms related to hormone imbalance. This review offers an overview of the methods used for diagnosing and treating tumors. It is worth noting that relying solely on references may restrict the scope and depth of discussions about tumors in this paper. Suggestions for research include exploring diagnostic tools like molecular imaging and liquid biopsy to enhance early detection and accurate assessment of these tumors. Additionally, more research is required to understand the long-term effects and quality of life outcomes for patients undergoing treatment options for tumors. In conclusion, significant progress has been made in diagnosing and treating tumors over time. Advances in imaging technologies such as diffusion-weighted imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy have enhanced precision and treatment strategies for these tumors. The discussion also covers the roles of surgery, radiation therapy and medical interventions, in managing tumor growth and hormonal imbalances further advancements, in research and innovation are crucial, for enhancing our knowledge and treatment of tumors ultimately bringing outcomes for both patients and healthcare professionals.

Review on cephalopod resources, biology and stock assessment in Indian seas

    Get PDF
Cephalopods are fished from the seas around India from very early times and at present contribute one of the most important exploited marine fishery resources oj the country (between 4 and 5% of the all India production). The production, which remained at very low level up to the early seventies, has shown a remarkable increase crossing the 1,00,000 tonne mark in 1994. The taxonomy, biology and stock assessment of the various exploited species have been studied since the early seventies by the CMFRI. Studies indicate that uplo 1994 tlie exploitation has remained within rational limits in almost all maritime states. The recent rapid increase in production warrants close monitoring of this short-lived resource from the viewpoint of Judicious management
