On the Quality of Employment in the European Union

    No full text
Job quality represents a fundamental objective within the EU employment policy agenda, which allows assessing the labour market performance. The high work intensity, increase in temporary work, deterioration of working conditions and increasing competition on the labour market have caused the decline of employment quality in the EU over the last decades. The paper highlights the importance of considering the job quality as a dimension of the quality of employment services. In order to capture this new dimension, the paper proposes a set of job quality indicators, which are taken and adapted from the set of Laeken indicators. This new multidimensional approach allows measuring the job quality, which itself represents a fundamental dimension of the quality of employment services

Discussing the effects of financial openness in the CEECs

    No full text
This paper is aimed at analyzing the macroeconomic benefits and drawbacks of financial globalization in the CEE area. First, the literature on financial openness and its impact on consumption, economic growth and poverty are examined, in order to see whether the empirical findings are consistent or rather divergent. Then, the paper analyzes the necessity and consequences of the financial integration in the CEE area, with a focus on the challenges imposed by the global financial crisis

Revival of Romanian exports in the context of the global economic recession

    No full text
The paper examines the situation of Romanian exports in the context of the global economic crisis, by placing this issue into an EU and international framework. In order to answer this research question, the paper analyzes the impact of the banking crisis on trade, as well as the importance of trading partners for the economic growth of the exporter country. The dynamics of Romanian exports is presented in comparison with that of other countries in CEE. The paper finds similarities in the dynamics of exports within the CEE during the crisis and predicts a favourable influence of Romania’s export trading partners on the Romanian economic growth. Finally, the paper addresses some policy recommendations for the trade revival as a response to the global crisis

    No full text
This paper comparatively analyzes the characteristics of EU welfare states in order to find out the most representative welfare regime for Romania. The examination of Romanian welfare regime includes the analysis of different dimensions of welfare, as well as the structure of social services market. The paper also reveals the weak points of the Romanian social services as well as the directions to be followed in the future to improve them and to ensure a higher level of social welfare for the population

The rape seed culture, occupy the first place among plants of the family Cruciferae protein meal, both by the production and by its high oil content. In European community countries, rape is cultivated on significant areas through the use of rapeseed oil in industry and agriculture. Research on entomofauna were made in rapeseed farm S.C. AGRO IND COM S.R.L. Botoşani fron 2011. The material was collected using soil traps Barber type. In totally, in the ecosystem of the year 2011 were collected 1184 samples. The species collected belonging to 7 orders: Diptera, Arachnidae, Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Homoptera and Heteroptera. The damaging fauna from the rape cultures belongs to the Coleoptera orders with the species Meligethes aeneus F., Phyllotreta atra L. and Phyllotreta nemorum F.; Diptera order, Anthomyidae families. The useful fauna belongs to Hymenoptera and Diptera orders and Ichneumonidae, Braconidae families

Rape (Brassica napus ssp oleifera L) is a plant native to the Mediterranean, with a extensive use in the Middle Asia in Central and Nordic Europe countries because of oil from seeds, used both in food and for lighting. In the period of vegetation rapeseed is attacked by many pests that can cause serious damage up to 50-60%. In the conditions of Northern Moldavia, signifies presence rapee beetle (Meligethes aeneus), turnip sawfly (Athalia rosae) turnip flea beetle and striped turnip flea beetle (Phyllotreta atra, Phyllotreta nemorum), rape seed weevil (Ceutorrhynchus assinilis), etc. In totally, in the two ecosystem, orders Coleoptera is dominant. The species with the largest number of samples collected were: Meligethes aeneus F. followed by Phyllotreta atra L., Phyllotreta vittula F., Epicometis hirta Poda and Baris chlorizans P. In the two ecosystems, in untreated variant were collected most samples (344 respectively 302 samples) compared to the treated variant (187 respectively 100 samples)

Synthesis of hematite nanowires using a mesoporous hard template

    Get PDF
The influence of the impregnation media (ethanol or water) and the calcination atmosphere (air and NO/He) on the hematite nanowires production embedded on a hard template (MCM-41) was studied. The solids were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy and magnetic measurements. The results obtained indicate that the more appropriate conditions for the iron oxide nanowires to get inside the MCM-41 hard template seem to be reached using water as a solvent and air as calcination atmosphere.Fil: Cano, Leonardo Andres. West Nile Virus Lineage 2 Vector Competence of Indigenous Culex and Aedes Mosquitoes from Germany at Temperate Climate Conditions

    No full text
West Nile virus (WNV) is a widespread zoonotic arbovirus and a threat to public health in Germany since its first emergence in 2018. It has become of particular relevance in Germany in 2019 due to its rapid geographical spread and the detection of the first human clinical cases. The susceptibility of indigenous Culex pipiens (biotypes pipiens and molestus) for a German WNV lineage 2 strain was experimentally compared to that of Serbian Cx. pipiens biotype molestus and invasive German Aedes albopictus. All tested populations proved to be competent laboratory vectors of WNV. Culex pipiens biotype pipiens displayed the highest transmission efficiencies (40.0%–52.9%) at 25 °C. This biotype was also able to transmit WNV at 18 °C (transmission efficiencies of 4.4%–8.3%), proving that temperate climates in Central and Northern Europe may support WNV circulation. Furthermore, due to their feeding behaviors, Cx. pipiens biotype molestus and Ae. albopictus can act as “bridge vectors”, leading to human WNV infections
