Search for a Lorentz invariance violation in atmospheric neutrino oscillations using MACRO data
The energy spectrum of neutrino-induced upward-going muons in MACRO was
analysed in terms of special relativity principles violating effects, keeping
standard mass-induced atmospheric neutrino oscillations as the dominant source
of nu_mu nu_tau transitions. The data disfavour these exotic possibilities
even at a sub-dominant level, and stringent 90% C.L. limits are placed on the
Lorentz invariance violation parameters. These limits can also be
re-interpreted as upper bounds on the parameters describing violation of the

Gauge Theory Model of the Neutrino and New Physics Beyond the Standard Model
Majorana features of neutrinos and SO(3) gauge symmetry of three families
enable us to construct a gauge model of neutrino for understanding naturally
the observed smallness of neutrino masses and the nearly tri-bimaximal neutrino
mixing when combining together with the mechanism of approximate global U(1)
family symmetry. The vacuum structure of SO(3) symmetry breaking is found to
play an important role. The mixing angle and CP-violating phases
governed by the vacuum of spontaneous symmetry breaking are in general non-zero
and testable experimentally at the allowed sensitivity. The model predicts the
existence of vector-like SO(3) triplet charged leptons and vector-like SO(3)
triplet Majorana neutrinos as well as SO(3) tri-triplet Higgs bosons, some of

Perimeter of sublevel sets in infinite dimensional spaces
We compare the perimeter measure with the Airault-Malliavin surface measure
and we prove that all open convex subsets of abstract Wiener spaces have finite
perimeter. By an explicit counter-example, we show that in general this is not
true for compact convex domains

Abstract: Nuclear DNA contents, automated karyotype analyses, and sequences of internal transcribed spacers from ribosomal genes have been determined in the species belonging to section Hypechusa of the sub-genus Vicia. Karyomorphological results and phylogenetic data generated from the comparison of rDNA ( genes coding for rRNA) sequences showed that sect. Hypechusa is not monophyletic; however, some monophyletic units are apparent ( one including Vicia galeata, V. hyrcanica, V. noeana, and V. tigridis, another including V. assyriaca, V. hybrida, V. melanops, V. mollis, and V. sericocarpa), which partly correspond to morphology-based infrasectional groups. The relationships among these species and the species in sections Faba, Narbonensis, Bithynicae, and Peregrinae have been also investigated. An infrared origin of leptonic mixing and its test at DeepCore
Fermion mixing is generally believed to be a low-energy manifestation of an
underlying theory whose energy scale is much larger than the electroweak scale.
In this paper we investigate the possibility that the parameters describing
lepton mixing actually arise from the low-energy behavior of the neutrino
interacting fields. In particular, we conjecture that the measured value of the
mixing angles for a given process depends on the number of unobservable flavor
states at the energy of the process. We provide a covariant implementation of
such conjecture, draw its consequences in a two neutrino family approximation
and compare these findings with current experimental data. Finally we show that
this infrared origin of mixing will be manifest at the Ice Cube DeepCore array,
which measures atmospheric oscillations at energies much larger than the tau
