Efficient Method of Removing the Noise using High Dynamic Range Image

Various tone mapping methods have been proposed to make the image better concurrent to human visual observation. In general, tone mapping can also be carried in nearby and/or world features. In this work, a progressive tone mapping framework such as wavelet filter and spongy thresholding is proposed to diminish the noise this 4% quicker than may shrink process. It's one of a kind curve centered universal tone mapping methods that increase the bright and darkish regions. Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) value is calculated to know the enrichment value. Simulation outcome shows that the proposed schemes achieve high contrast improvement

An experimental investigation of seismic behaviour of identical beam-column subassemblies was conducted by testing two half-scale joint models: one without a slab and the other with a slab. A qualitative model simulating participation of the floor slab was developed by establishing the slab crack patterns (yield lines) and the state of strain in slab bars. Based on the verification results, it was concluded that the joint model improves prediction of seismic behaviour, and that this model allows explicit evaluation of the slab effect on the joint

Antihyperlipidemic Activity of Bauhinia purpurea Extracts in Hypercholesterolemic Albino Rats

Abstract: Bauhinia purpurea is a flowering plant. Several species of this plant are known to possess pharmacological activities. It is a less explored plant, but it possesses phytoconstituents such as flavonoids which are purported to exhibit wide pharmacological activities. In the present study the ethanol extract of unripe pods and leaves of Bauhinia purpurea was evaluated for antihyperlipidemic activity in cholesterol high fat diet (CHFD) induced hyperlipidemia. Hyperlipidemia was induced by giving high cholesterol diet in standard rat chow diet for thirty days. The groups of rats selected for the study were treated with atorvastatin, ethanol extract of unripe pods and ethanol extract of leaves daily for the whole period. Changes in body weight and the analysis of serum lipids were carried out at the end of the study. There was a marked decrease in body weight, total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) levels. Also there was a significant increase in high density lipoprotein levels after the treatment with Bauhinia purpurea extracts. Ethanol extract of leaves showed a marked effect over body weight reduction and also had a significant effect on the lipoprotein profile. There is a lowered atherogenic index, TC: HDL-c and LDL: HDL-c ratios in the extract treated groups. The present work indicated that Bauhinia purpurea extracts significantly suppressed the CHFD induced hyperlipidemia in rats, suggesting the antihyperlipidemic and antiatherogenic potential of the extracts. Further studies are needed to characterize the phytoconstituents responsible for the study

Discovery of selective and potent anti-tubercular activity in arylpentane-1,4-diones

411-415Anti-tubercular activity (MIC 50μg/mL against Mtb H37Rv) have been reported in hispolons, which possess α, β-unsaturated-1,3-diketone functional group. In the pursuit to optimize structure and bioactivity, various substituted arylpentane-1,4-diones S1-8 have been synthesised. Upon screening, the test compounds show negligible antimicrobial activity against the tested organisms at 100 μg/mL but show antitubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv strain with an MIC 0.8 to 25μg/mL. Compounds having a halogen at the ortho position on the aromatic ring show highest potency (MIC 0.8μg/mL), implying a relation between the position of the halogen atom and anti-tubercular activity

Many open source in silico tools are available for drug discovery, this paper attempts to correlate the results obtained from two such tools with results obtained from in vitro screening. Discovery of novel Anti-TB agents became a necessity due to the ever increasing problem of drug resistance. As heterocyclic compounds are known to possess potent biological activity, here an attempt has been made to synthesize pyrazolidine derivatives from pyroglutamic acid. Further the synthesized derivatives are analyzed by IR, NMR and Mass spectral studies and screened for anti-tubercular and antimicrobial activity

Effect of Alkali Activator on the Standard Consistency and Setting Times of Fly Ash and GGBS-Based Sustainable Geopolymer Pastes

    No full text
In this study, an attempt has been made to study the effect of alkali activator on the standard consistency and setting times of low calcium fly ash (FA) and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS)- based sustainable geopolymer pastes. Different proportions of FA and GGBS were blended into mixes of geopolymer paste using sodium hydroxide (SH) and sodium silicate (SS) as alkaline activator solution (AAS). Tests on geopolymer pastes for consistency and initial and final setting times were carried out for three different SH : SS ratios of 1 : 1, 1 : 2, and 1 : 3 for both 2.5 M (molarity) and 5.0 M of SH concentration. While increasing the molarity of SH, both consistency and setting time decreased. For all the blended binder mix, the setting time decreases with an increase in the quantity of SS in the alkali activator solution. An increase in the amount of GGBS content in the geopolymer blended binder mix increases the consistency and decreases the setting time. For both 2.5 M and 5 M blended geopolymer mixes, a decrease in the percentage of GGBS and an increase in the percentage of FA increased the setting time. Microstructural studies such as X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analyses were carried out, and the results are presented. The FT-IR spectra for the blended binder mixes demonstrated the formation of geopolymerization and the presence of the functional groups
