A Note on The Structure of Morphactin-Induced Wood in Two Coniferous Species

Anatomical features of vertically growing apical shoots of Pinus sylvestris L. and Picea excelsa Link, trees treated with 0.3% morphactin IT 3456 in lanolin paste were analyzed with light and scanning electron microscopes. These studies indicated that the wood formed above and at the area of treatment was morphologically similar to compression wood. Reasons for production of compression wood after treatment with morphactin in vertically growing shoots are discussed

An attempt to evaluation of reconstruction accuracy of car braking parameters on the basis of experimental tests

W pracy zostały przedstawione wyniki rekonstrukcji prędkości początkowej i drogi hamowania samochodu ciężarowego kategorii N3. In this paper there have been compared the 'reconstruction' calculation of initial velocity and braking distance carried out on the basis of data from experimental tests of N3 class truck with results which can be obtained from two kinds of 'black boxes': ADR1 - measuring six kinematic parameters and ADR2 measuring only three kinematic parameters. The errors of such a reconstruction have been estimated. Its follows from calculation that error is small. It is significantly smaller for ADR1 which is more advanced device

A Note on the Formation of Compression Wood Induced by Morphactin IT 3456 in Thuja Shoots

Light and scanning electron microscopes were used to examine the structure of normal wood, naturally formed compression wood, and wood formed after and influenced by morphactin IT 3456 treatment in Thuja occidentalis L. lateral shoots. Morphactin strongly induced typical compression wood formation around those shoots. On the basis of these and prior data, a relationship apparently exists between morphactin treatment and the formation of compression wood in Coniferales
