Wild capitalism, privatisation and employment relations in Serbia
This paper aims to examine the phenomenom of wild capitalism under post Communist transformation. Many commentators on post Communist transformation focus their attention on dysfunctional corporate governance and the deleterious consequences of liberalisation on business ethics. Poor business ethics and bad corporate governance may be a consequence of labour exploitation for comparative advantage, and the abandonment of party authority. This allowed rapacious rent-seeking by a minority well placed to benefit from the newly de-regulated regime. A by-product is a burgeoning informal economy encouraged by insider dealing of privatised state assets. State regulation, where it exists, is often ignored. Employment relations are fragmented, with state-owned enterprises retaining some form of collective regulation, while newly privatised enterprises seek to marginalise union activity
Genetic bases of the evolution of organisms
Biological progress consists of the continuous increase of divergence with simultaneous maintenance and the increase of conformance (harmoniousness) of living systems. A mutual balance between divergence of forms and the degree of perfection of their structure and function indicates a level of the evolutionary development of a particular group of organisms, i.e. a level and prospects of their evolutionary progress. An enormous potential of combined genetic polymorphousness is reduced to adaptive landscapes of a limited number of developmental programmes that make actual units of inheritance and variability within each species
An exploratory study of heavy domain wall fermions on the lattice
We report on an exploratory study of domain wall fermions (DWF) as a lattice
regularisation for heavy quarks. Within the framework of quenched QCD with the
tree-level improved Symanzik gauge action we identify the DWF parameters which
minimise discretisation effects. We find the corresponding effective 4
overlap operator to be exponentially local, independent of the quark mass. We
determine a maximum bare heavy quark mass of , below which the
approximate chiral symmetry and O(a)-improvement of DWF are sustained. This
threshold appears to be largely independent of the lattice spacing. Based on
these findings, we carried out a detailed scaling study for the heavy-strange
meson dispersion relation and decay constant on four ensembles with lattice
spacings in the range . We observe very mild
scaling towards the continuum limit. Our findings establish a sound basis for
heavy DWF in dynamical simulations of lattice QCD with relevance to Standard
Model phenomenology.Comment: 23 pages, 8 figure
Prinicipi i standardi rekonstrukcije kriviÄnog dogaÄaja
This paper deals with crime reconstruction as a method of crime investigation which represents a set of systematic, analytical processes which serve to provide relevant information about the manner of creation and dynamics of crime perpetration. Special attention is paid to ethical principles of crime reconstruction, as well as to the relationship between a scientific method and crime reconstruction method. In addition to this, basic information on models, scientific principles and practical standards of crime reconstruction have been presented. The subject of research is directed towards the analysis of determinants of creation of material pieces of evidence, as well as towards establishing theories and scientific principles for their analysis in order to deduct evidence admissible in court. Finally, the paper analyses the place of crime reconstruction within a complex procedure of its clearing up and proving.
Soil fertility is associated with the activity of soil microflora, which in its turn depends on the content of organic matter in soil, soil moisture, temperature and pH, mineral nutrition, effectiveness of nodular bacteria and the crop grown. An experiment was established in 2002 at Rimski Å anÄevi experiment field of Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in which the soybean variety Afrodita was treated with microbial fertilizers NS-Nitragin and BactoFil B. The soybean variety and NS-Nitragin have been developed at the Institute, while BactoFil B comes from Hungary. The experimental design was random blocks with four replications. Each replication consisted of six 5-m rows spaced 0.5 m apart. Seed inoculation variants were: noninoculated control (Ć); inoculation with NS-Nitragin for soybean (N) immediately before planting; inoculation with NS-Nitragin and BaktoFil B incorporation in soil (N+Bac.B). We monitored the effect of inoculation on soil biological activity and effectiveness of the symbiotic association. The microbial fertilizers NS-Nitragin and BactoFil B positively affected the presence of the analyzed microbial groups in the soil. The microbial fertilizers improved the agrochemical and biological properties of the soil. The incorporation of the microorganisms also affected the effectiveness of the symbiotic association. Soybean yield was highest in the variant of inoculation with NS-Nitragin and BactoFil B incorporation in the soil.
The study of the magnetically tailored atmospheric pressure dc arc plasma with aerosol supply for analytical application
Preliminary studies have shown that external oscillatory magnetic fields of a few mT imposed to the atmospheric pressure DC argon arc plasma with aerosol supply, can produce significant favourable changes of its spatial and spectral characteristic. These changes are promising for improvement the analytical performance of such treated plasma. In this work, the applied magnetic fields strengths were in the range of 29- 23 mT and frequencies of 300-900 Hz. Spatial emission intensities of several element lines have been investigated in such magnetic field-plasma configuration with various plasma operating conditions and arc device construction modifications. Applied magnetic field induces lines emission intensity enhancements of the most elements observed. Enhancements (up to 20 times) depend on arc current, magnetic field strength and frequency applied, composition of sprayed solution, spatial plasma zone observed and construction detailsPhysical chemistry 2004 : 7th international conference on fundamental and applied aspects of physical chemistry; Belgrade (Serbia); 21-23 September 200
