The Polarization of Radiation in Single Cristals in the Quasiclassical Approach
The radiation emission spectra of polarized photons emitted from charged
particles in single oriented crystals are obtained in Bayer-Katkov
quasiclassical approach. The results of numerical calculations are presented in
the region of small angles of incidence for which the coherent theory fails but
magnetic bremsstrahlung region isn't yet achieved. The spectral distribution of
linear polarization degree repeats, in general, the form of the intensity
distribution. At sufficiently small angles, in the case of planar orientation
of crystal, there is a wide maximum of essential linear polarization at low
frequencies.Comment: Latex with 3 figures (.eps files). used epsfig.sty and wrapfig.st
Rare processes and coherent phenomena in crystals
We study coherent enhancement of Coulomb excitation of high energy particles
in crystals. We develop multiple scattering theory description of coherent
excitation which consistently incorporates both the specific resonant
properties of particle-crystal interactions and the final/initial state
interaction effects typical of the diffractive scattering. Possible
applications to observation of induced radiative neutrino transitions are
discussed.Comment: 8 pages, LaTe
Large distance behaviour of light cone operator product in perturbative and nonperturbative QCD regimes
We evaluate the coordinate space dependence of the matrix elements of the
commutator of the electromagnetic and gluon currents in the vicinity of the
light-cone but at large distances within the parton model, DGLAP, the
resummation approaches to the small x behaviour of DIS processes, and for the
Unitarity Bound. We find that an increase of the commutator with relative
distance as is the generic property of QCD
at small but fixed space-time interval in perturbative and
nonperturbative QCD regimes. We explain that the factor follows within the
dipole model (QCD factorization theorem) from the properties of Lorents
transformation. The increase of disappeares at central impact parameters
if cross section of DIS may achieve the Unitarity Limit. We argue that such
long range forces are hardly consistent with thermodynamic equilibrium while a
Unitarity Limit may signal equilibration. Possible implications of this new
long range interaction are briefly discussed.Comment: 23 page
On the topology of adiabatic passage
We examine the topology of eigenenergy surfaces characterizing the population
transfer processes based on adiabatic passage. We show that this topology is
the essential feature for the analysis of the population transfers and the
prediction of its final result. We reinterpret diverse known processes, such as
stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP), frequency-chirped adiabatic
passage and Stark-chirped rapid adiabatic passage (SCRAP). Moreover, using this
picture, we display new related possibilities of transfer. In particular, we
show that we can selectively control the level which will be populated in
STIRAP process in Lambda or V systems by the choice of the peak amplitudes or
the pulse sequence
