    Low Cost Swarm Based Diligent Cargo Transit System

    The goal of this paper is to present the design and development of a low cost cargo transit system which can be adapted in developing countries like India where there is abundant and cheap human labour which makes the process of automation in any industry a challenge to innovators. The need of the hour is an automation system that can diligently transfer cargo from one place to another and minimize human intervention in the cargo transit industry. Therefore, a solution is being proposed which could effectively bring down human labour and the resources needed to implement them. The reduction in human labour and resources is achieved by the use of low cost components and very limited modification of the surroundings and the existing vehicles themselves. The operation of the cargo transit system has been verified and the relevant results are presented.     Identifying Implementation Bugs in Machine Learning based Image Classifiers using Metamorphic Testing

    We have recently witnessed tremendous success of Machine Learning (ML) in practical applications. Computer vision, speech recognition and language translation have all seen a near human level performance. We expect, in the near future, most business applications will have some form of ML. However, testing such applications is extremely challenging and would be very expensive if we follow today's methodologies. In this work, we present an articulation of the challenges in testing ML based applications. We then present our solution approach, based on the concept of Metamorphic Testing, which aims to identify implementation bugs in ML based image classifiers. We have developed metamorphic relations for an application based on Support Vector Machine and a Deep Learning based application.     Vermicomposting of green Eucalyptus leaf litter by Eisenia foetida and Eudrilus eugenia

    Effective clearance of different types of waste has become significant to sustain healthy environment. Vermicomposting has become a suitable substitute for the safe, hygienic and cost effective disposal of organic solid wastes. Earthworms decompose organic waste leading to the production of compost which is high in nutrient content. The present work has been designed to reveal competitive and / or beneficial interactions by studying the inter-specific interactions in terms of growth, maturation, survival and vermicomposting efficiency of two earthworm species Eisenia foetida and Eudrilus eugenia exposed to green leaf litter of Eucalyptus and measured physical variables during entire process. The complete process was taken fourteen weeks.Work was done in plastic beans in four set. 100 % cattle dung was also taken as a control. During the process following parameters viz. pH, temperature, biomass reduction and moisture content were analysed.pHof vermicomposting substrate was recorded low initially acidic but at last stage set in alkaline range. In case of temperature, it was changed 16-18°C ± 1°C from initial value. This was higher than control cattle dung (13°C± 1°C). Organic biomass was also depleted during process which was about 70-71 % ±1 % from initial level as compaired to cattle dung (46 %).     Revival of Superconductivity by Y3+/Ca2+ substitution in YBa2Cu2.7Co0.3O7 without reported phase transformation

    Results of phase formation, resistivity (r), and thermo-electric power (S), are reported on Y1-xCaxBa2Cu2.7Co0.3O7 compounds with x = 0.1 and 0.2. Pristine compound i.e. without Co or Ca substitution crystallizes in orthorhombic structure with space group P/mmm. Cu-site Co substituted compound i.e. YBa2Cu2.7Co0.3O7 is tetragonal. With simultaneous doping of Ca at Y site in Co substituted compound i.e. Y1-xCaxBa2Cu2.7Co0.3O7 the tetragonal nature still remains. r(T) measurements showed superconducting transition temperature (Tc) to decrease from 90K (YBa2Cu3O7) to 33 K for YBa2Cu2.7Co0.3O7 which with further Ca substitution increases from 33K to 53K (Y0.9 Ca0.1Ba2Cu2.7Co0.3O7) and 67 K for Y0.8 Ca0.2Ba2Cu2.7Co0.3O7. Tc decreases first with Cu-site Co substitution by hole-filling and later recovers by simultaneous hole creation by Y site Ca substitution. Room temperature thermoelectric power S(300 K), which is an indirect measure of mobile carriers shows the decrease of carriers with Co doping and creation by Ca substitution. Our results demonstrate the hole filling by Co substitution is compensated by simultaneous Ca substitution.Comment: 10 pages of TEXT and Fig

    Study on compressive strength of plastic waste bituminous concrete for road construction

    Plastics industry have many major developments in the last two decades resulted from the increased utilization of plastics in various sectors. One of the most common used plastics is the thin plastic bags which used usually for packaging. However the disposal of the waste plastic bags in large quantities constitutes a real environmental problem. Hence, recycling waste into useful products is considered one of the most sustainable solutions to this crisis so that research into new and innovative uses of waste materials is continuously advancing. This paper studies the Compressive Strength of Plastic Waste Bituminous Concrete for Road Construction. The plastic waste was added to the bituminous concrete in increasing percentage and Marshall Samples were prepared. These samples were tested for compressive strength at 25°C and 60°C i.e unconditioned and conditioned samples. It is observed that the compressive strength of sample significantly increases up to 8%, 6% and 12% for dry process, wet process and combined process respectively for LDPE and HDPE type of waste plastic

    Knockout of TSC2 in Nav1.8+ neurons predisposes to the onset of normal weight obesity

    OBJECTIVE: Obesity and nutrient oversupply increase mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling in multiple cell types and organs, contributing to the onset of insulin resistance and complications of metabolic disease. However, it remains unclear when and where mTOR activation mediates these effects, limiting options for therapeutic intervention. The objective of this study was to isolate the role of constitutive mTOR activation in Nav1.8-expressing peripheral neurons in the onset of diet-induced obesity, bone loss, and metabolic disease. METHODS: In humans, loss of function mutations in tuberous sclerosis complex 2 (TSC2) lead to maximal constitutive activation of mTOR. To mirror this in mice, we bred Nav1.8-Cre with TSC2 RESULTS: By lineage tracing, Nav1.8-Cre targeted peripheral sensory neurons, a subpopulation of postganglionic sympathetics, and several regions of the brain. Conditional knockout of TSC2 in Nav1.8-expressing neurons (Nav1.8-TSC2 CONCLUSIONS: Knockout of TSC2 in Nav1.8+ neurons increases itch- and anxiety-like behaviors and substantially modifies fat storage and metabolic responses to HFD. Though this prevents HFD-induced weight gain, it masks depot-specific fat expansion and persistent detrimental effects on metabolic health and peripheral organs such as bone, mimicking the \u27normal weight obesity\u27 phenotype that is of growing concern. This supports a mechanism by which increased neuronal mTOR signaling can predispose to altered adipose tissue distribution, adipose tissue expansion, impaired peripheral metabolism, and detrimental changes to skeletal health with HFD - despite resistance to weight gain

    Possible competition between superconductivity and magnetism in RuSr<SUB>2</SUB>Gd<SUB>1.5</SUB>Ce<SUB>0.5</SUB>Cu<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>10-&#948;</SUB> ruthenocuprate compounds

    The RuSr2Gd1.5Ce0.5Cu2O10-&#948; (Ru-1222) compounds, with varying oxygen content, crystallize in a tetragonal crystal structure (space group I4/mmm). Resistance (R) versus temperature (T) measurements show that the air-annealed samples exhibit superconductivity with superconduting transition temperature (Tc) onset at around 32 K and R=0 at 3.5 K. On the other hand, the N2-annealed sample is semiconducting down to 2 K. Magneto-transport measurements on an air-annealed sample in applied magnetic fields of 3 and 6 T (Tesla) show a decrease in both Tc onset and TR=0. Magnetoresistance of up to 20% is observed in the N2-annealed sample at 2 K and 3 T applied field. The dc magnetization data (M vs T) reveal magnetic transitions (Tmag) at 100 K and 106 K, respectively, for both air- and N2-annealed samples. Ferromagnetic components in the magnetization are observed for both samples at 5 K and 20 K. The superconducting transition temperature (Tc) seems to compete with the magnetic transition temperature (Tmag). Our results suggest that the magnetic ordering temperature (Tmag) of Ru moments in RuO6 octahedra may have direct influence/connection with the appearance of superconductivity in Cu-O2 planes of Ru-1222 compounds
