Impact of low-xx resummation on QCD analysis of HERA data

Fits to the final combined HERA deep-inelastic scattering cross-section data within the conventional DGLAP framework of QCD have shown some tension at low x and low $Q^2$ . A resolution of this tension incorporating $\ln (1/x)$ -resummation terms into the HERAPDF fits is investigated using the xFitter program. The kinematic region where this resummation is important is delineated. Such high-energy resummation not only gives a better description of the data, particularly of the longitudinal structure function $F_L$ , it also results in a gluon PDF which is steeply rising at low x for low scales, $Q^2 \simeq 2.5\,\hbox {GeV}^2$ , contrary to the fixed-order NLO and NNLO gluon PDF

Premature birth as the cause of special educational needs in young school children

V diplomové práci jsme se zabývali otázkou, zda předčasné narození nějakým způsobem determinuje děti i v mladším školním věku, tedy na prvním stupni základní školy. Výsledky získané tímto průzkumem považujeme za zajímavé a přínosné. V experimentální části jsme shrnuli obtíže, které mívají nedonošené děti během školní docházky nejčastěji, a jaká byla jejich četnost u sledovaného vzorku. V teoretické části jsme přinesli ucelenější pohled na celou problematiku. Sesbírali jsme data z rozmanitých pramenů a zdrojů, i z vlastního výzkumu a osobních zkušeností. Předložili jsme díky tomu souhrn, který na našem trhu v komplexnější podobě chybí.Katedra pedagogikyObhájenoIn my thesis I deal with the question if premature birth can anyhow influence even primary school children (i.e. children aged 6-11). Results of the research can be considered insightful and beneficial. In the experimental part we summarize the most common problems which premature children have during school attendance, and their frequency in the monitored sample. In the theoretical part a more complex view of the whole issue is provided. Data has been collected from various sources, our own research and personal experience. This enables us to provide a survey in an area that has not been completely covered yet
