Centro multidisciplinar de dor orofacial (CEMDOR) da UFSC:: Relato de experiência
The aim of this work is to present the activities performed at the Multidisciplinary Center of Orofacial Pain at UFSC in
Florianopolis. The CEMDOR performs the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with Temporomandibular
Disorders, Sleep Disorders and Orofacial Pain (TMD/SD/OFP) and aim mainly the recovery of function, pain relief and
the improvement of the patients life quality, collaborating with their well-being. The patients are evaluated on the clinic and
later the clinical cases are debated in classroom with the presence of professors of the Dentistry and Speech Therapy
course. This activity allows the elaboration of treatment plans more complete and individualized. Moreover, this practice
foments questions and increases knowledge. The services offered by CEMDOR are important and timely to the
community due to the high incidence of patients with TMD/SD/OFP in the population, which affects the quality of life
with high health impactO objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar as atividades realizadas no Centro Multidisciplinar de Dor Orofacial (CEMDOR) da
UFSC Florianópolis. O CEMDOR realiza diagnóstico, tratamento e acompanhamento de pacientes com Disfunção
Temporomandibular, Distúrbio do Sono e Dor Orofacial (DTM/DS/DOF) visando a recuperação da função, o alÃvio da
dor e a melhora da qualidade de vida destes pacientes. Por meio da integração de diversas áreas da saúde, o centro busca o
tratamento efetivo do paciente, colaborando com o seu bem-estar. Os pacientes são avaliados na clÃnica e posteriormente
os casos clÃnicos são discutidos em sala de aula com a presença de professores do curso de Odontologia e Fonoaudiologia.
Esta dinâmica permite a elaboração de planos de tratamentos mais completos e individualizados, fomentando os
questionamentos e aumentando o nÃvel de conhecimento dos estudantes. Os serviços oferecidos pelo CEMDOR são
muito importantes para a comunidade devido à alta incidência de DTM/DS/DOF na população, a qual afeta sobremaneira
a qualidade de vida dos indivÃduosEl objetivo de este trabajo es presentar las actividades realizadas en el Centro Multidisciplinar de Dolor Orofacial
(CEMDOR) de la UFSC. El CEMDOR realiza el diagnóstico, tratamiento y acompañamiento de pacientes portadores de
Disfunción temporomandibular, Trastornos del Sueño y Dolor orofacial (DTM/TS/DOF) con el objetivo principalmente
en la recuperación de la función, el alivio del dolor y busca mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Por medio de la
integración de diversas áreas de la salud, el centro busca el tratamiento efectivo del paciente, colaborando con su bienestar.
Los pacientes son evaluados en la clÃnica y posteriormente los casos clÃnicos son discutidos en el aula con la presencia de
profesores del curso de OdontologÃa y FonoaudiologÃa. Esta actividad permite la elaboración de planes de tratamientos
más completos e individualizados, fomentando los cuestionamientos y aumentando el nivel de conocimiento de los
estudiantes. Los servicios ofrecidos por el CEMDOR son muy importantes para la comunidad debido a la alta incidencia
de DTM//TS/DOF en la población, la cual afecta sobremanera la calidad de vida de los individuo
