Facile synthesis and enhanced visible light photocatalytic activity of N and Zr co-doped TiO2 nanostructures from nanotubular titanic acid precursors

Zr/N co-doped TiO2 nanostructures were successfully synthesized using nanotubular titanic acid (NTA) as precursors by a facile wet chemical route and subsequent calcination. These Zr/N-doped TiO2 nanostructures made by NTA precursors show significantly enhanced visible light absorption and much higher photocatalytic performance than the Zr/N-doped P25 TiO2 nanoparticles. Impacts of Zr/N co-doping on the morphologies, optical properties, and photocatalytic activities of the NTA precursor-based TiO2 were thoroughly investigated. The origin of the enhanced visible light photocatalytic activity is discussed in detail.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figure

Enhancement of Visible-Light-Induced Photocurrent and Photocatalytic Activity of V and N Codoped TiO2 Nanotube Array Films

Highly ordered TiO2 nanotube arrays (TNAs) codoped with V and N were synthesized by electrochemical anodization in association with hydrothermal treatment. The samples were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The photocurrent and photocatalytic activity of codoped TiO2 nanotube arrays were investigated under visible light irradiation. Moreover, the production of hydroxyl radicals on the surface of visible light-irradiated samples is detected by a photoluminescence technique using terephthalic acid (TA) as a probe molecule. It was found that the V+N co-doped TiO2 nanotube arrays showed remarkably enhanced photocurrent and photocatalytic activity than undoped sample due to the V and N codoping.Comment: 15 Pages, 6 figure

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Education, the scale of ordinary college graduates in 2023 is expected to reach 11.58 million, an increase of 820,000 compared with 2022 (General Office of the State Council of China, 2015). This figure once again hit a record high in employment, and the employment situation is becoming more and more severe. All walks of life in society have higher and higher expectations for the comprehensive ability of college students, and college students are facing greater pressure and challenges in the process of job-hunting. This paper will discuss the curriculum design, teaching mode, education and teaching reform strategy, experimental research, conclusions and prospects, so as to provide some useful references for the education and teaching reform of innovation and entrepreneurship management courses for college students, and improve the quality of graduate training and employment competitiveness

Strong enhancement of chlorophyll a concentration by a weak typhoon

Recent studies demonstrate that chlorophyll a (chl a) concentrations in the surface ocean can be significantly enhanced due to typhoons. The present study investigated chl a concentrations in the middle of the South China Sea (SCS) from 1997-2007. Only the Category1 (minimal) Typhoon Hagibis (2007) had a notable effect on the chl a concentrations. Typhoon Hagibis had a strong upwelling potential due to its location near the equator, and the forcing time of the typhoon (>82 h) was much longer than the geostrophic adjustment time (~63 h). The higher upwelling velocity and the longer forcing time increased the depth of the mixed-layer, which consequently induced a strong phytoplankton bloom that accounted for about 30% of the total annual chl a concentration in the middle of the SCS. The implication is that the forcing time of a typhoon should be long enough to establish a strong upwelling and consequently for the induction of significant upper ocean responses.Comment: Typhoon-Ocean Environment interaction

Fast List Decoding of High-Rate Polar Codes

Due to the ability to provide superior error-correction performance, the successive cancellation list (SCL) algorithm is widely regarded as one of the most promising decoding algorithms for polar codes with short-to-moderate code lengths. However, the application of SCL decoding in low-latency communication scenarios is limited due to its sequential nature. To reduce the decoding latency, developing tailored fast and efficient list decoding algorithms of specific polar substituent codes (special nodes) is a promising solution. Recently, fast list decoding algorithms are proposed by considering special nodes with low code rates. Aiming to further speedup the SCL decoding, this paper presents fast list decoding algorithms for two types of high-rate special nodes, namely single-parity-check (SPC) nodes and sequence rate one or single-parity-check (SR1/SPC) nodes. In particular, we develop two classes of fast list decoding algorithms for these nodes, where the first class uses a sequential decoding procedure to yield decoding latency that is linear with the list size, and the second further parallelizes the decoding process by pre-determining the redundant candidate paths offline. Simulation results show that the proposed list decoding algorithms are able to achieve up to 70.7\% lower decoding latency than state-of-the-art fast SCL decoders, while exhibiting the same error-correction performance.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figure

Biogeography of the Japanese Gourmet Fungus, Tricholoma matsutake: A Review of the Distribution and Functional Ecology of Matsutake

    Get PDF
Tricholoma matsutake (S. Ito & S. Imai) Singer is an ectomycorrhizal basidiomycete that produces highly prized mushrooms known as ‘true matsutake’. Recent research has shown that T. matsutake has a wide but patchy distribution in temperate and boreal forests of Eurasia and subtropical China in association with Pinus, Picea, Tsuga, Abies and even fagaceous broadleaves. Molecular analyses of the microbial communities living in shiro soil have been made in certain locations, but their generality has yet to be determined systematically and across the entire range. Variation in fruiting in relation to climate and geography has improved our understanding of matsutake phenology, and important in-roads have been made into its ecology over the past 15 years. T. matsutake is a commercially-important fungal species that plays a significant role in the functional diversity of forests in the Northern Hemisphere, but much remains to be learned about this enigmatic taxon.Peer reviewe
