Egg freezing has evolved over the last decades, becoming an accepted and recognized technique for fertility preservation. This technique has various medical and non ‑medical indications and it is becoming an important step in overcoming age‑related de‑clines in fertility. Nonetheless, since it remains inadequately understood by the general public and medical professionals, raising its awareness is of vital importance. There are numerous factors that influence the technique’s success, particularly the number of matured eggs retrieved and the woman’s age, which affects the quantity and quality of oocytes. Women were prompted to more seriously contemplate social egg freezing throughout the COVID‑19 pandemic, given that social isolation complicated their search for an ideal male partner and allowed for more time to consider and research this topic.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Partition functions and elliptic genera from supergravity

We develop the spacetime aspects of the computation of partition functions for string/M-theory on AdS(3) xM. Subleading corrections to the semi-classical result are included systematically, laying the groundwork for comparison with CFT partition functions via the AdS(3)/CFT(2) correspondence. This leads to a better understanding of the "Farey tail" expansion of Dijkgraaf et. al. from the point of view of bulk physics. Besides clarifying various issues, we also extend the analysis to the N=2 setting with higher derivative effects included.Comment: 34 page

Importance of Tests for the Complete Lorentz Structure of the t --> W+ b vertex at Hadron Colliders

The most general Lorentz-invariant decay-density-matrix for tW+b(l+ν)bt\to W^{+}b\to (l^{+}\nu)b, or for tW+b(jdˉju)bt\to W^{+}b\to (j_{\bar d}j_u)b, is expressed in terms of eight helicity parameters. The parameters are physically defined in terms of partial-width-intensities for polarized-final-states in tW+bt\to W^{+}b decay. The parameters are the partial width, the bb quark's chirality parameter ξ\xi, the W+W^+ polarimetry parameter σ\sigma, a "pre-SSB" test parameter ζ\zeta, and four WLW_{L}-WTW_{T} interference parameters η\eta, η\eta^{'}, ω\omega, ω\omega^{'} which test for T~FS\tilde T_{FS} violation. They can be used to test for non-CKM-type CP violation, anomalous ΓL,T\Gamma_{L,T}'s, top weak magnetism, weak electricity, and second-class currents. By stage-two spin-correlation techniques, percent level statistical uncertainites are typical for measurements at the Tevatron, and several mill level uncertainites are typical at the LHC.Comment: Minor clarifications.
