Asymmetric Game Analysis of China's Equipment Manufacturing Industry Hollowing-Out

With the rapid development of global economic integration, industrial hollowing-out problem has been paid much attention by foreign and domestic scholars. Based on the current situation of China's equipment manufacturing industry, the asymmetric game model is created in this paper which integrates the strong multinational companies and the weak Chinese local companies into a united system. Considering the influence of two main factors affecting unit production cost, technology and production factor cost, importance is attached on analyzing equilibrium solutions of the asymmetric game between multinational company and Chinese local company in R&D stage and processing stage of global value chain, so as to explain the formation mechanism of China's equipment manufacturing industry hollowing-out. Suggestions for breaking through the hollowing-out obstacle are put forward accordingly

NGOs and Civil Society under the Context of Humanistic Community Construction: Practice and Review of China

Since the mid 1980’s, the issue of community construction in China has been put on the agenda for governments of various levels. The shift from community service to community construction witness the development of community management as well as the Chinese social reform. The humanistic community construction has become the cornerstone for social reform, and also an important practice to Chinese harmonious society. In the future social and economic frame, the grass-root level self-government organizations, community organizations, social organizations will contribute to most nongovernmental, nonprofit social institutions. Neither is it a sheer governmental behavior, nor is a sheer civil activity. The community construction consists of various community actors and community forces. The process is a trinity of the government, nongovernmental organizations and the residents. The nongovernmental organizations, especially the voluntary and self-governmental organizations, will promote the participatory democracy in the community management. The cultivation of nongovernmental organizations and the self-governmental institutions would be translated into the future government management pattern of Chinese society. Le changment du service de communauté en construction de commmunauté témoigne du développement de la gestion de communauté et la réforme sociale chinoise. La construction de communauté humaniste est devenue la base de la réforme sociale et une pratique importante pour la société harmonieuse de la Chine. Dans le futur cadre social et économique, les organisations autonomes, communautaires et sociales vont contribuer aux institutions non gouvernementales et non lucratives. Ce n’est ni une action gouvernementale pure ni une activité civile pure. La construction de communauté consiste en divers acteurs et forces communautaires. Son processus est la trinité du gouvernement, des organisations non gouvernementales et des habitants. Les organisations non gouvernementales, surtout les volontaires et les organisations autonomes, pourraient promouvoir la démocratie dans la gestion de communauté. Le développement des organisations non gouvernementales et institutions autonomes pourrait être transformé en modèle futur de la gestion gouvernemental de la société chinoise. The Impact of Online Third-party Product Reviews on Consumer Adoption of a New Product

Research has discovered that the third-party product review (TPPR) can influence consumer adoption of a new product. However, the specific influence mechanism needs further deep explorations. In this study, effects of different types of TPPR on consumer adoption of different new products were tested from the perspective of consumer knowledge. Based on two experimental designs, it is reported that the TPPR in the recommendation format and comparison format influence the intentions of new consumers to use really new products mostly. The TPPR in the description format and independent format influence the intentions of expert consumers to incremental new products. Moreover, the source of TPPR is vital. Consumers trust the TPPR in professional product evaluation websites more compared with public media. In other words, TPPR in professional product evaluation websites can facilitate consumer adoption of new products. The research conclusions here further enrich researches concerning TPPR and adoption of new productions

Onsite data processing and monitoring for the Daya Bay Experiment

The Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment started running on September 23, 2011. The offline computing environment, consisting of 11 servers at Daya Bay, was built to process onsite data. With current computing ability, onsite data processing is running smoothly. The Performance Quality Monitoring system (PQM) has been developed to monitor the detector performance and data quality. Its main feature is the ability to efficiently process multi-data-stream from three experimental halls. The PQM processes raw data files from the Daya Bay data acquisition system, generates and publishes histograms via a graphical web interface by executing the user-defined algorithm modules, and saves the histograms for permanent storage. The fact that the whole process takes only around 40 minutes makes it valuable for the shift crew to monitor the running status of all the sub-detectors and the data quality
