It is essential for librarians, especially academic librarians, to keep up with the state of Linked Data. There is so much information about Linked Data that one may wonder where to begin when they want to join the Linked Data community. With this in mind, the author compiled this annotated bibliography as a starter kit. Due to the many resources available, this list focuses on literature in English only and of specific projects, case studies, research studies, and tools that may be helpful to academic librarians, in addition to the overview of Linked Data concept and the current state of Linked Data evolution and adoption

    Market Orientation, Electronic Supply Chain Integration, and Firm Performance in China: The Moderating Role of Ownership Type

    Integrating supply chain processes over the Internet to achieve competitive advantages has generated much attention from practitioners and researchers, especially those in emerging economies. Drawing upon the institutional theory and resource based view, this study investigates how market orientation affects electronic supply chain integration (eSCI), which, in turn, influences firm performance in the emerging economy of China. We further examine how the relationships between market orientation and eSCI are moderated by ownership type. The results of a survey with 260 firms in China suggest that the dimensions of market orientation have differential impacts on the eSCI, and both dimensions of eSCI have significant effects on firm performance. In addition, the relationships between market orientation and eSCI are moderated by both ownership type in China. Implications and suggestions for future research are discussed

    Supply Chain Integration and Firm Performance: The Moderating Effects of Organizational Culture

    Building on multiple theoretical perspectives, we examine how organizational culture moderates the association of different dimensions of Internet-enabled Supply Chain Integration (i.e., online information sharing and operational coordination) and firm performance (i.e., operational and customer service performance). We test hypotheses using survey data from senior executives in China. Our findings reveal that an internally focused culture negatively moderates the effects of information sharing on both operational and customer service performance. In contrast, an internally focused culture positively moderates the relationships between operational coordination and firm performance. In addition, our findings indicate that an externally focused culture negatively moderates the effects of operational coordination on customer service performance. Theoretical contributions and managerial implications of the study are discussed

    Will Humans be Free-Riders? The Effects of Expectations for AI on Human-AI Team Performance

    The failure of human-AI augmentation is a common problem that is usually believed to be highly related to poor AI design and human’s inability to identify appropriate AI suggestions, but existing interventions like explainable AI were not effective to solve this problem. We propose that a crucial factor contributing to the failure of human-AI augmentation lies in the withholding of human effort. Moreover, high expectations for AI performance, which is generally positive for AI adoption, may undermine human-AI team performance by reducing human involvement in the task. Based on the Collective Effort Model (CEM), we explore how expectations for AI performance, perceive indispensability and task meaningfulness influence human effort and human-AI team performance. We plan to conduct laboratory experiments in image classification and idea generation to test our hypotheses. We expect to enhance the understanding of human-AI collaboration and the effects of social loafing effect in human-AI teams

    Inhibitory effect of chitosan oligosaccharide on human hepatoma cells in vitro

    Background: Chitosan oligosaccharide, the degradation products of chitin, was reported to have a wide range of physiological functions and biological activities. In this study, we explored the inhibitory effect of Chitosan oligosaccharide on human hepatoma cellsMaterials and Methods: MTT assay was applied to detect cell viability of the human hepatoma cells treated with Chitosan oligosaccharide. Flow cytometric analysis was used to investigate the apoptosis of the human hepatoma cells treated with Chitosan oligosaccharide. We employed western blot to investigate the underlying mechanisms involved in the apoptosis.Results: Our data indicated that chitosan oligosaccharide dose-dependently inhibited the growth of hepatoma cells and induced apoptosis. On the molecular level, chitosan oligosaccharide decreased Bcl-2 and increased Caspase-3 expression which may be related to the apoptosis of hepatoma cells.Conclusion: Our results provide an experimental basis for the clinical development of Chitosan oligosaccharide as a novel anti-hepatoma drug.Keywords: Chitosan oligochitosan, Hepatoma cells, Apoptosis, Bcl-2, Caspase-

    THE EFFECTS OF SOCIAL CAPITAL ON FIRM SUBSTANTIAL AND SYMBOLIC PERFORMANCE IN THE CONTEXT OF E-BUSINESS

    Social capital is increasingly regarded as a crucial predictor of performance improvement. However, the Internet is challenging the previous understanding of social capital. In this study, we conduct a research to empirically test the social capital theory in the context of e-business. Specifically, we investigate the influence of social capital on firm substantial and symbolic performance, and compare the influence of social capital on substantial performance to on symbolic performance in the context of e-business. Data were obtained from a survey administered to 205 firms in China. The results suggest that structural and relational capital could influence substantial and symbolic performance significantly. However, we find that cognitive capital could not impact substantive performance significantly, but can influence symbolic performance significantly. We conclude with implications and suggestions for future research

    The Moderating Effect Of E-Business Capability In The Relationship Between Market Orientation And Firm Performance

    Building on multiple theoretical perspectives, we examined how e-business capability moderates the association of different dimensions of market orientation (i.e., customer, competitor, and inter-functional coordination orientation) and firm performance (i.e., financial, operational, and customer service performance). We tested hypotheses using survey data from senior executives in China. Our findings reveal that both customer orientation and inter-functional coordination can positively impact firm performance, while competitor orientation cannot affect firm performance significantly. Further, we found the complicated and interesting moderating effects of e-business capability on the multiple relationships between market orientation and firm performance. Specifically, e-business capability can strengthen the impact of customer orientation on financial and operational performance, but it weakens the relationship between competitor orientation and financial performance and the relationship between inter-functional coordination and customer service. Theoretical contributions and managerial implications of the study are discussed
