An Empirical Study of the Impact of Social Media on Consumer Music Advocacy

    Get PDF
Social media is widely used to build social network to promote product and service brands. It is very important to examine how people’s online community activities and motivation influence their positive word-of-mouth behavior. In this study, we build a framework on how music consumers’ consumption experience, consumer online engagement, and consumer online motivation influence their advocacy behavior. With more than 1000 respondents in a nation-wide survey, we have validated our measures, tested our model, and confirmed our hypotheses. Furthermore, we have discussed the theoretical and managerial implications. Finally, the limit of the research and future research are indicated

The Integrated Process Model For Learning Organization

    Get PDF
This paper proposes an integrated process model of a learning organization, which consists of six processes - “sensing”, “innovating”, “selecting”, “implementing”, “diffusing”, “feedback”, and one base - “knowledge base & knowledge management”. Based on the literature review and the interviews with multinational corporations in China, this model integrates the important organizational learning processes and knowledge management to reflect the reality of learning organizations comprehensively. Based on the integrated model, key elements that affect organizational learning processes are identified. Finally, the contributions, implications, limitation, and future research of the integrated process model are discussed

Visualization of positive and negative sense viral RNA for probing the mechanism of direct-acting antivirals against hepatitis C virus

RNA viruses are highly successful pathogens and are the causative agents for many important diseases. To fully understand the replication of these viruses it is necessary to address the roles of both positive-strand RNA ((+)RNA) and negative-strand RNA ((-)RNA), and their interplay with viral and host proteins. Here we used branched DNA (bDNA) fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to stain both the abundant (+)RNA and the far less abundant (-)RNA in both hepatitis C virus (HCV)- and Zika virus-infected cells, and combined these analyses with visualization of viral proteins through confocal imaging. We were able to phenotypically examine HCV-infected cells in the presence of uninfected cells and revealed the effect of direct-acting antivirals on HCV (+)RNA, (-)RNA, and protein, within hours of commencing treatment. Herein, we demonstrate that bDNA FISH is a powerful tool for the study of RNA viruses that can provide insights into drug efficacy and mechanism of action

Pearling and Pinching: Propagation of Rayleigh Instabilities

A new category of front propagation problems is proposed in which a spreading instability evolves through a singular configuration before saturating. We examine the nature of this front for the viscous Rayleigh instability of a column of one fluid immersed in another, using the marginal stability criterion to estimate the front velocity, front width, and the selected wavelength in terms of the surface tension and viscosity contrast. Experiments are suggested on systems that may display this phenomenon, including droplets elongated in extensional flows, capillary bridges, liquid crystal tethers, and viscoelastic fluids. The related problem of propagation in Rayleigh-like systems that do not fission is also considered.Comment: Revtex, 7 pages, 4 ps figs, PR

Separation of intrinsic dielectric and resistive electrode losses in ferroelectric capacitors at radio frequencies

    Get PDF
To analyze the intrinsic dielectric performance of planar high-density capacitors at radio frequencies (RF), the dielectric losses need to be distinguished from the resistive electrode losses. The resistive losses of the electrodes at RF are de-embedded employing a linear regression procedure with partial compensation for distributed effects. We use tunable ferroelectric capacitors with a barium strontium titanate (BST) dielectric with an inner diameter d ≥ 8 μm on a silicon substrate. The de-embedding of the electrode losses has been successfully performed utilizing 1-Port RF measurement data from of an Advantest R3767CG vector network analyzer (VNA) in the frequency range of 10 MHz – 8 GHz
