    北京市某三级甲等医院护士职业规划现状调查研究

    Objective: To explore the career planning of nurses in Class 3 A grade hospital of Beijing and to identify the related factors to the career planning of nurses. Methods: By convenient sampling method, 1127 clinical nurses were investigated with a self-designed career planning questionnaire. Results: Surveys show that average score of nurses’ career planning was (2.75±0.57). The scores of career planning were significantly different among different ages, sex, duties (P < 0.05). Conclusion: This career planning of nurses was at the low level. It is suggested that nursing educators should explore the way to promote the development of nurses’ career according to the situation and the influential factors of nurses’ career planning.目的  了解三甲医院护士职业生涯规划状况,识别护士一般资料中对护士职业生涯规划的影响因素。方法  采用便利抽样方法,采用护士职业生涯规划调查问卷对北京市某三级甲等医院1127名护士进行调查。结果  本次调查显示护士职业生涯规划平均得分为(2.75±0.57)分,不同性别、年龄、职务的护士,其职业生涯规划得分有统计学差异(P < 0.05)。结论  护士职业生涯规划现状处于偏低水平,结合护士职业生涯规划现状和影响护士职业生涯规划的因素,护理管理者应探索促进护士职业发展的方法和途径,从而促进护士职业生涯和护理事业的发展

    Determining the local dark matter density with LAMOST data

    Measurement of the local dark matter density plays an important role in both Galactic dynamics and dark matter direct detection experiments. However, the estimated values from previous works are far from agreeing with each other. In this work, we provide a well-defined observed sample with 1427 G \& K type main-sequence stars from the LAMOST spectroscopic survey, taking into account selection effects, volume completeness, and the stellar populations. We apply a vertical Jeans equation method containing a single exponential stellar disk, a razor thin gas disk, and a constant dark matter density distribution to the sample, and obtain a total surface mass density of $\rm {78.7 ^{+3.9}_{-4.7}\ M_{\odot}\ pc^{-2}}upto1kpcandalocaldarkmatterdensityof up to 1 kpc and a local dark matter density of 0.0159^{+0.0047}_{-0.0057}\,\rm M_{\odot}\,\rm pc^{-3}$. We find that the sampling density (i.e. number of stars per unit volume) of the spectroscopic data contributes to about two-thirds of the uncertainty in the estimated values. We discuss the effect of the tilt term in the Jeans equation and find it has little impact on our measurement. Other issues, such as a non-equilibrium component due to perturbations and contamination by the thick disk population, are also discussed.Comment: 11 pages, 10 figure

    Do cross-border mergers and acquisitions increase short-term market performance? The case of Chinese firms

    Despite the new momentum in cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&As) by emerging market firms, we have a limited understanding of the impact of these activities. Drawing on signalling theory and the institution-based view, this paper examines the extent of stock market reactions to the announcement of cross-border M&A deals, based on an event study of a sample of Chinese firms during the period 2000– 2012. The findings indicate that the announcement of cross-border M&As results in a positive stock market reaction; this effect is more significant in the mainland Chinese stock markets (Shanghai and Shenzhen) than that in the Hong Kong market. The shareholders of Chinese firms that acquire a target firm in a host country with a low level of political risk gain higher cumulative abnormal returns than those firms targeting companies in countries with a high level of political risk. The shareholders of Chinese state-owned enterprises experience lower abnormal returns compared with those of Chinese privately owned firms when engaging in cross-border M&A deals

    Expatriates, subsidiary autonomy and the overseas subsidiary performance of MNEs from an emerging economy

    Despite a growing body of research on the role of expatriates in subsidiary performance, the mechanisms through which expatriates affect subsidiary performance are still the subject of debate. Drawing on the resource dependence theory, we examine the indirect effect of expatriates on subsidiary performance via subsidiary autonomy based on a sample of Chinese multinational enterprises (MNEs). The findings show that an increase in expatriates reduces the level of subsidiary autonomy and thus negatively affects subsidiary performance. We also find that the institutional quality of host countries reinforces the negative impact of expatriates on subsidiary autonomy, but reduces the importance of the latter on subsidiary performance

    Impact of the tissue factor pathway inhibitor gene on apoptosis in human vascular smooth muscle cells

    Tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) plays a vitally important role in the blood coagulation pathway. Recent studies indicated that TFPI induces apoptosis in vascular smooth-muscle cells (VSMCs) in animals. The present study investigated whether the TFPI gene could also induce apoptosis in human vascular smooth-muscle cells (hVSMCs). Such cells were isolated from human umbilical arteries and subsequently transfected with pIRES-TFPI plasmid (2 μg/mL). MTT assaying and cell counting were applied to measure cell viability and proliferation, RT-PCR was utilized to analyze TFPI gene expression in the cells. Apoptosis was analyzed by fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS). Several key proteins involved in apoptosis were examined through Western blotting. It was shown that TFPI gene transfer led to its increased cellular expression, with a subsequent reduction in hVSMC proliferation. Further investigation demonstrated that TFPI gene expression resulted in lesser amounts of procaspase-3, procaspase-8 and procascase-9, and an increased release of mitochondrial cytochrome c (cyt-c) into cytoplasm, thereby implying the involvement of both extrinsic and intrinsic pathways in TFPI gene-induced apoptosis in hVSMCs

    Association study of monoamine oxidase A/B genes and schizophrenia in Han Chinese

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Monoamine oxidases (MAOs) catalyze the metabolism of dopaminergic neurotransmitters. Polymorphisms of isoforms MAOA and MAOB have been implicated in the etiology of mental disorders such as schizophrenia. Association studies detected these polymorphisms in several populations, however the data have not been conclusive to date. Here, we investigated the association of <it>MAOA </it>and <it>MAOB </it>polymorphisms with schizophrenia in a Han Chinese population.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Two functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), rs6323 of <it>MAOA </it>and rs1799836 of <it>MAOB</it>, were selected for association analysis in 537 unrelated schizophrenia patients and 536 healthy controls. Single-locus and Haplotype associations were calculated.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>No differences were found in the allelic distribution of rs6323. The G allele of rs1799836 was identified as a risk factor in the development of schizophrenia (<it>P </it>= 0.00001). The risk haplotype rs6323T-rs1799836G was associated with schizophrenia in female patients (<it>P </it>= 0.0002), but the frequency difference was not significant among male groups.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Our results suggest that <it>MAOB </it>is a susceptibility gene for schizophrenia. In contrast, no significant associations were observed for the <it>MAOA </it>functional polymorphism with schizophrenia in Han Chinese. These data support further investigation of the role of MAO genes in schizophrenia.</p

    Surface dominated transport in single crystalline nanoflake devices of topological insulator Bi1.5Sb0.5Te1.8Se1.2

    We report experimental evidence of surface dominated transport in single crystalline nanoflake devices of topological insulator Bi1.5Sb0.5Te1.8Se1.2. The resistivity measurements show dramatic difference between the nanoflake devices and bulk single crystal. The resistivity and Hall analysis based on a two-channel model indicates that ~99% surface transport contribution can be realized in 200 nm thick BSTS nanoflake devices. Using standard bottom gate with SiO2 as a dielectric layer, pronounced ambipolar electric field effect was observed in devices fabricated with flakes of 100 - 200 nm thick. Moreover, angle-dependent magneto-resistances of a nanoflake device with thickness of 596 nm are fitted to a universal curve for the perpendicular component of the applied magnetic field. The value of phase coherence length obtained from 2D weak antilocalization fitting further confirmed the surface dominated transport. Our results open a path for realization of novel electric and spintronic devices based on the topological helical surface states.Comment: 20 pages, 4 figure

    Stressful Life Events, Depression, and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury Among Chinese Left-Behind Children: Moderating Effects of Self-Esteem

    Using cross-sectional data of the children in the Guizhou Province of China, the present study examined the association between stressful life events and self-esteem, depression, and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). The participants included 1,210 children recruited from four junior high schools. Self-report questionnaires concerned stressful life events, self-esteem, depression, and NSSI. Results indicated that Chinese left-behind children who faced more stressful life events were more likely to engage in depression and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). Moreover, self-esteem moderated the association between stressful life events and depression, and the association between stressful life events and NSSI. For the left-behind children reporting higher levels of self-esteem, the negative effect of stressful life events on depression and NSSI appeared weaker, compared to those who reported lower levels of self-esteem. In addition, the left-behind type also has a moderating effect on the relationship between stressful life events and NSSI. With the increase of stressful life events, the NSSI among the one-migrating-parent group grows more rapidly than that among the two-migrating-parents group. The findings suggest that self-esteem and left-behind type are important individual factors for Chinese left-behind children
