Role and modulation factors of liver-associated natural killer cell during fumonisin B1 hepatocarcinogenesis in rats

Three hypotheses were tested in the present studies: (1) Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and F2alpha (PGF2alpha ) produced during tumor promotion are key factors suppressing liver-associated natural killer cell activity, a proposed biomarker of carcinogenesis. (2) Reaction of fumonisin B1 (FB1) with glucose may prevent FB 1 hepatotoxicity, tumor development and changes in biomarkers associated with carcinogenesis, such as natural killer cell activity, in rats. (3) Increased fat and energy intake promote FB1 hepatocarcinogenesis and inhibit the liver-associated natural killer (NK) cell activity in association with increased PGE2 and PGF2alpha. Before testing these two hypotheses, immune function as well as concentrations of PGE2 and PGF2alpha were compared between Fischer 344/N (F344/N) and Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats to determine which strain was more appropriate for testing the hypotheses. The results showed that F344/N rats had much less total hepatic NK activity than SD rats, the reaction of the primary amine of fumonisin B1 (FB1) with glucose detoxified this mycotoxin, and the inhibition of NK cell activity paralleled the development of preneoplasia, PGE2 may be of the modulation factors of hepatic NK activity

In this study, a novel Ag/Bi3O4Cl photocatalyst has been synthesized by a facile photodeposition process. Its photocatalytic performance was evaluated from the degradation of tetracycline (TC) under visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm). The 1.0 wt% Ag/Bi3O4Cl photocatalyst could significantly enhance the degradation of TC compared with pure Bi3O4Cl, with the degradation level reaching 94.2% in 120 minutes. The enhancement of photocatalytic activity could be attributed to the synergetic effect of the photogenerated electrons (e−) of Bi3O4Cl and the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) caused by Ag nanoparticles, which could improve the absorption capacity of visible light and facilitate the separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs. In addition, electron spin resonance (ESR) analysis and trapping experiments demonstrated that the superoxide radicals (˙O2−), hydroxyl radicals (˙OH) and holes (h+) played crucial roles in the photocatalytic process of TC degradation. The present work provides a promising approach for the development of highly efficient photocatalysts to address current environmental pollution, energy issues and other related areas

The Dionysian Spirit Reflected in Bringing in the Wine

The poems of Li Bai are extremely gigantic and vigorous, and also full of emotions, which provide us an aesthetic space to think. Through the natural and unrestrained quality that reflected in his poems, people can not help thinking of the Dionysian spirit of Nietzsche. Although there are lots of differences between the oriental and occidental cultures, it still can find something in common, which might be accepted as an angle to understand the Poetry written by Li Bai. With the comparison between the Dionysian spirit and the emotions that reflected in Bringing in the Wine, people could appreciate the tragic aesthetics that existed in his poems

Volterra type McKean-Vlasov SDEs with singular kernels: Well-posedness, Propagation of Chaos and Euler schemes

In this paper, our work is devoted to studying Volterra type McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations with singular kernels. Firstly, the well-posedness of Volterra type McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations are established. And then propagation of chaos is proved with explicit estimate of the convergence rate. Finally, We also propose an explicit Euler scheme for an interacting particle system associated with the Volterra type McKean-Vlasov equation.Comment: 21 page

Global smooth solution for the 3D generalized tropical climate model with partial viscosity and damping

The three-dimensional generalized tropical climate model with partial viscosity and damping is considered in this paper. Global well-posedness of solutions of the three-dimensional generalized tropical climate model with partial viscosity and damping is proved for α≥32\alpha\geq\frac{3}{2} and β≥4\beta\geq4. Global smooth solution of the three-dimensional generalized tropical climate model with partial viscosity and damping is proved in Hs(R3)H^s(\mathbb R^3) (s>2)(s>2) for α≥32\alpha\geq\frac{3}{2} and 4≤β≤54\leq\beta\leq5

First Principles Study of Adsorption of O2O_{2} on Al Surface with Hybrid Functionals

Adsorption of O2O_{2} molecule on Al surface has been a long standing puzzle for the first principles calculation. We have studied the adsorption of O2O_{2} molecule on the Al(111) surface using hybrid functionals. In contrast to the previous LDA/GGA, the present calculations with hybrid functionals successfully predict that O2O_{2} molecule can be absorbed on the Al(111) surface with a barrier around 0.2∼\thicksim0.4 eV, which is in good agreement with experiments. Our calculations predict that the LUMO of O2O_{2} molecule is higher than the Fermi level of the Al(111) surface, which is responsible for the barrier of the O2O_{2} adsorption.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figure
