Hadron-Hadron Interactions from Nf=2+1+1N_f=2+1+1 Lattice QCD: isospin-2 ππ\pi\pi scattering length

We present results for the I=2I=2 ππ\pi\pi scattering length using Nf=2+1+1N_f=2+1+1 twisted mass lattice QCD for three values of the lattice spacing and a range of pion mass values. Due to the use of Laplacian Heaviside smearing our statistical errors are reduced compared to previous lattice studies. A detailed investigation of systematic effects such as discretisation effects, volume effects, and pollution of excited and thermal states is performed. After extrapolation to the physical point using chiral perturbation theory at NLO we obtain Mπa0=0.0442(2)stat(0+4)sysM_\pi a_0=-0.0442(2)_\mathrm{stat}(^{+4}_{-0})_\mathrm{sys}.Comment: Edited for typos, overhauled figures, more detailed comparison to existing lattice result

Representations and classification of traveling wave solutions to Sinh-G{\"o}rdon equation

Two concepts named atom solution and combinatory solution are defined. The classification of all single traveling wave atom solutions to Sinh-G{\"o}rdon equation is obtained, and qualitative properties of solutions are discussed. In particular, we point out that some qualitative properties derived intuitively from dynamic system method aren't true. In final, we prove that our solutions to Sinh-G{\"o}rdon equation include all solutions obtained in the paper[Fu Z T et al, Commu. in Theor. Phys.(Beijing) 2006 45 55]. Through an example, we show how to give some new identities on Jacobian elliptic functions.Comment: 12 pages. accepted by Communications in theoretical physics (Beijing

Crystallized merons and inverted merons in the condensation of spin-1 Bose gases with spin-orbit coupling

The non-equilibrium dynamics of a rapidly quenched spin-1 Bose gas with spin-orbit coupling is studied. By solving the stochastic projected Gross-Pitaevskii equation, we show that crystallization of merons can occur in a spinor condensate of ^{87}Rb. Analytic form and stability of the crystal structure are given. Likewise, inverted merons can be created in a spin-polarized spinor condensate of ^{23}Na. Our studies provide a chance to explore the fundamental properties of meron-like matter.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figure

Lattice study on kaon nucleon scattering length in the I=1 channel

Using the tadpole improved clover Wilson quark action on small, coarse and anisotropic lattices, KNKN scattering length in the I=1 channel is calculated within quenched approximation. The results are extrapolated towards the chiral and physical kaon mass region. Finite volume and finite lattice spacing errors are also analyzed and a result in the infinite volume and continuum limit is obtained which is compatible with the experiment and the results from Chiral Perturbation Theory.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures, typeset by latex using elsart.cls, minor change

Lattice Gluon Propagator in the Landau Gauge: A Study Using Anisotropic Lattices

Lattice gluon propagators are studied using tadpole and Symanzik improved gauge action in Landau gauge. The study is performed using anisotropic lattices with asymmetric volumes. The Landau gauge dressing function for the gluon propagator measured on the lattice is fitted according to a leading power behavior: Z(q2)(q2)2κZ(q^2)\simeq (q^2)^{2\kappa} with an exponent κ\kappa at small momenta. The gluon propagators are also fitted using other models and the results are compared. Our result is compatible with a finite gluon propagator at zero momentum in Landau gauge.Comment: 14 pages, 4 figure

Study of structure and lattice dynamics of the Sr2_2CuO2_2Cl2_2(001) surface by helium-atom scattering

Structure and lattice dynamics of the (001) surface of Sr2_2CuO2_2Cl2_2 have been studied by helium atom scattering (HAS). Analysis of diffraction patterns obtained by elastic HAS revealed a surface periodicity consistent with bulk termination, and confirms that the surface is non-polar and stable which favors a SrCl surface termination. Bulk and surface lattice dynamical calculations based on the shell-model were carried out to characterize the experimental phonon dispersions obtained by inelastic HAS. No experimental surface mode was observed above 200 cm1^{-1}. Comparison between the experimental data and theoretical results for two different slabs with SrCl and CuO2_2 terminations showed that the experimental data conforms exclusively with the SrCl surface modes.Comment: 10 pages, 11 figure
