Top quark pair production via e+ee^{+}e^{-} collision in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity at the ILC

In the littlest Higgs model with T-parity, we studied the contributions of the new particles to the top-quark pair production via e+ee^{+}e^{-} collision at the International Linear Collider. We calculated the top-quark pair production cross section and found this process can generate significantly relative correction. The result may be a sensitive probe of the littlest Higgs model with T-parity

Structure of the PolIIIα-τc-DNA Complex Suggests an Atomic Model of the Replisome

SummaryThe C-terminal domain (CTD) of the τ subunit of the clamp loader (τc) binds to both the DnaB helicase and the DNA polymerase III α subunit (PolIIIα), and determines their relative positions and orientations on the leading and lagging strands. Here, we present a 3.2 Å resolution structure of Thermus aquaticus PolIIIα in complex with τc and a DNA substrate. The structure reveals that the CTD of τc interacts with the CTD of PolIIIα through its C-terminal helix and the adjacent loop. Additionally, in this complex PolIIIα displays an open conformation that includes the reorientations of the oligonucleotide-binding fold and the thumb domain, which may be an indirect result of crystal packing due to the presence of the τc. Nevertheless, the position of the τc on PolIIIα allows us to suggest an approximate model for how the PolIIIα is oriented and positioned on the DnaB helicase

Study on Improving the Surface Wet Condition of Subfloor by Hygroscopic material in Rural Residences of China

Microporous surface materials are put forward to prevent condensation on subfloor in some building design standards and specifications in China. However, in the current study there are mostly applied cases, lacking of quantitative research. This paper simulated and compared the surface wet condition of three different surface materials by WUFI software: solid brick, hardwood and glazed tile brick. The results shows that the time on surface relative humidity that above 95%, hygroscopic subfloor reduces by more than 20% over non-hygroscopic subfloor, and the improvement is over 45% in relative humidity range of 99% to 100%. In high-humidity areas such as Chongqing, it is suitable to use the porous hygroscopic material which moisture absorption capacity rapidly increases when the environment humidity exceed 80%, and absorbs little moisture lower than 80%

MBA: A market-based approach to data allocation and migration for cloud database

With the coming shift to cloud computing, cloud database is emerging to provide database service over the Internet. In the cloud-based environment, data are distributed at internet scale and the system needs to handle a huge number of user queries simultaneously without delay. How data are distributed among the servers has a crucial impact on the query load distribution and the system response time. In this paper, we propose a market-based control method, called MBA, to achieve query load balance via reasonable data distribution. In MBA, database nodes are treated as traders in a market, and certain market rules are used to intelligently decide data allocation and migration. We built a prototype system and conducted extensive experiments. Experimental results show that the MBA method signicantly improves system performance in terms of average query response time and fairness
