The strong decays of the 51S05^1S_0 qqˉq\bar{q} states are evaluated in the 3P0^3P_0 model with two types of space wave functions. Comparing the model expectations with the experimental data for the π(2360)\pi(2360), η(2320)\eta(2320), X(2370)X(2370), and X(2500)X(2500), we suggest that the π(2360)\pi(2360), η(2320)\eta(2320), and X(2500)X(2500) can be assigned as the members of the 51S05^1S_0 meson nonet, while the 51S05^1S_0 assignment for the X(2370)X(2370) is not favored by its width. The 51S05^1S_0 kaon is predicted to have a mass of about 2418 MeV and a width of about 163 MeV or 225 MeV.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, version accepted by Eur. Phys. J.

Statistical Properties of Multiple Optical Emission Components in Gamma-Ray Bursts and Implications

Well-sampled optical lightcurves of 146 gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are complied from the literature. Multiple optical emission components are extracted with power-law function fits to these lightcurves. We present a systematical analysis for statistical properties and their relations to prompt gamma-ray emission and X-ray afterglow for each component. We show that peak luminosity in the prompt and late flares are correlated and the evolution of the peak luminosity may signal the evolution of the accretion rate. No tight correlation between the shallow decay phase/plateau and prompt gamma-ray emission is found. Assuming that they are due to a long-lasting wind injected by a compact object, we show that the injected behavior favors the scenarios of a long-lasting wind after the main burst episode. The peak luminosity of the afterglow onset is tightly correlated with Eiso, and it is dimmer as peaking later. Assuming that the onset bump is due to the fireball deceleration by the external medium, we examine the Gamma_0-Eiso relation and find that it is confirmed with the current sample. Optical re-brightening is observed in 30 GRBs in our sample. It shares the same relation between the width and the peak time as found in the onset bump, but no clear correlation between the peak luminosity and Eiso as observed in the onset bumps is found. Although its peak luminosity also decays with time, the slope is much shallower than that of the onset peak. We get L t^{-1}_{p}$, being consistent with off-axis observations to an expanding external fireball in a wind-like circum medium. The late re-brightening may signal another jet component. Mixing of different emission components may be the reason for the observed chromatic breaks in different energy bands.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, to be published by IJMPD (Proceedings of "The Third Galileo - Xu Guangqi meeting", Beijing, October 11-15, 2011

Motor neuron-derived Thsd7a is essential for zebrafish vascular development via the Notch-dll4 signaling pathway.

BackgroundDevelopment of neural and vascular systems displays astonishing similarities among vertebrates. This parallelism is under a precise control of complex guidance signals and neurovascular interactions. Previously, our group identified a highly conserved neural protein called thrombospondin type I domain containing 7A (THSD7A). Soluble THSD7A promoted and guided endothelial cell migration, tube formation and sprouting. In addition, we showed that thsd7a could be detected in the nervous system and was required for intersegmental vessels (ISV) patterning during zebrafish development. However, the exact origin of THSD7A and its effect on neurovascular interaction remains unclear.ResultsIn this study, we discovered that zebrafish thsd7a was expressed in the primary motor neurons. Knockdown of Thsd7a disrupted normal primary motor neuron formation and ISV sprouting in the Tg(kdr:EGFP/mnx1:TagRFP) double transgenic zebrafish. Interestingly, we found that Thsd7a morphants displayed distinct phenotypes that are very similar to the loss of Notch-delta like 4 (dll4) signaling. Transcript profiling further revealed that expression levels of notch1b and its downstream targets, vegfr2/3 and nrarpb, were down-regulated in the Thsd7a morphants. These data supported that zebrafish Thsd7a could regulate angiogenic sprouting via Notch-dll4 signaling during development.ConclusionsOur results suggested that motor neuron-derived Thsd7a plays a significant role in neurovascular interactions. Thsd7a could regulate ISV angiogenesis via Notch-dll4 signaling. Thus, Thsd7a is a potent angioneurin involved in the development of both neural and vascular systems

Canonical interpretation of the X(4140)X(4140) state within the 3P0^3P_0 model

Recently, the LHCb Collaboration has confirmed the state X(4140)X(4140), with a mass M=4146.5±4.5−2.8+4.6M=4146.5\pm 4.5^{+4.6}_{-2.8}~MeV, and a much larger width Γ=83±21−14+21\Gamma=83\pm21^{+21}_{-14}~MeV than the previous experimental measurements, which has confused the understanding of its nature. We will investigate the possibility of the χc1(3P)\chi_{c1}(3P) interpretation for the X(4140)X(4140), considering the mass spectra predicted in the quark model, and the strong decay properties within the 3P0^3P_0 model. We also predict the strong decay properties of the charmonium states χc0(3P)\chi_{c0}(3P) and χc2(3P)\chi_{c2}(3P). Our results show that the X(4140)X(4140) state with the small width given in PDG can be explained as the charmonium state χc1(3P)\chi_{c1}(3P) in the 3P0^3P_0 model, and high precision measurement of the width of the X(4140)X(4140) is crucial to understand its nature.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, the version to be published in EPJ
