Precision Search for Muon Antineutrino Disappearance Oscillations Using a Dual Baseline Technique
A search for short baseline muon antineutrino disappearance with the SciBooNE and MiniBooNE experiments at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois is presented. Short baseline muon antineutrino disappearance measurements help constrain sterile neutrino models. The two detectors observe muon antineutrinos from the same beam, therefore the combined analysis of their data sets serves to partially constrain some of the flux and cross section uncertainties. A likelihood ratio method was used to set a 90% confidence level upper limit on muon antineutrino disappearance that dramatically improves upon prior sterile neutrino oscillation limits in the Îm^2=0.1-100 eV^2 region
The Effects Of Persuasive Messages On System Acceptance
Firms have to invest millions of dollars to introduce a new system. If firms cannot persuade employees to accept and implement a system effectively, such investments are wasted. Since a given influence process may lead to differential outcomes, managers need to deliver influencing strategies to motivate employees and shape their behavior intentions related to system acceptance. This study integrates TAM, flow theory, and extends ELM to understand employeesâ system acceptance. The findings indicate that two persuasive messages result in different influencing routes on employeesâ emotional, functional, and utilitarian responses. Source credibility of persuasive messages has positive influence on playfulness, while argument quality of persuasive messages has positive influence on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Attitude may play mediating roles in the relationship of playfulness-behavior intention and perceived usefulness-behavior intention
An Examination of the Relationships among Budget Emphasis, Budget Planning Models and Performance
[[abstract]]Purpose â This study aims to investigate the relationships among budget emphasis, budget planning models, and performance, to determine whether an emphasis on the budget has indirect effects on performance, in the presence of other budget planning characteristics as mediators.
Design/methodology/approach â A questionnaire survey was conducted and structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed models among the constructs and related hypotheses.
Findings â The results indicate that while budget planning models entirely mediate the influence of budget emphasis on the performance of management and the organization, they partially mediate the influence of budget emphasis on budget satisfaction. In addition, it is determined that differentiation strategies have a significantly positive influence on budget emphasis, budget planning models and performance.
Originality/value â The results of this study provide a reference for organizations in the design of budgeting systems. During the design process, budget planning models should consider the degree of emphasis an organization places on the budget.[[incitationindex]]SSCI[[booktype]]ç´
Determining the physical conditions of extremely young Class 0 circumbinary disk around VLA1623A
We present detailed analysis of high-resolution C18O (2-1), SO (88-77), CO
(3-2) and DCO+ (3-2) data obtained by the Atacama Large
Millimeter/sub-millimeter Array (ALMA) towards a Class 0 Keplerian circumbinary
disk around VLA1623A, which represents one of the most complete analysis
towards a Class 0 source. From the dendrogram analysis, we identified several
accretion flows feeding the circumbinary disk in a highly anisotropic manner.
Stream-like SO emission around the circumbinary disk reveals the complicated
shocks caused by the interactions between the disk, accretion flows and
outflows. A wall-like structure is discovered south of VLA1623B. The discovery
of two outflow cavity walls at the same position traveling at different
velocities suggests the two outflows from both VLA1623A and VLA1623B overlays
on top of each other in the plane of sky. Our detailed flat and flared disk
modeling shows that Cycle 2 C18O J = 2-1 data is inconsistent with the combined
binary mass of 0.2 Msun as suggested by early Cycle 0 studies. The combined
binary mass for VLA1623A should be modified to 0.3 ~ 0.5 Msun.Comment: 26 pages, 20 figures, accepted by ApJ 2020.2.2
