Sorghum insect identification handbook
This handbook has been published to help agricultural
scientists and students to identify the common insect
and mite pests of the sorghum crop at all stages of
growth, and in storage.
To create awareness about the benefit of natural
enemies there is a section on the more well known
predators and parasites of sorghum pests. General descriptions
of the pests and color illustrations are provided
to facilitate identification. There are brief descriptions of
the biology, nature, and symptoms of damage together
with suggested control measures. Chemical control
should be applied only if really necessary, and a plant
protection specialist should be consulted beforehand, if
possible. It is always preferable to confirm the identity of
pests with the help of professional entomologists and to
collect specimens for future identification when the
opportunity arises
Neutron Drops and Skyrme Energy-Density Functionals
The J=0 ground state of a drop of 8 neutrons and the lowest
1/2 and 3/2 states of 7-neutron drops, all in an external well, are
computed accurately with variational and Green's function Monte Carlo methods
for a Hamiltonian containing the Argonne two-nucleon and Urbana IX
three-nucleon potentials. These states are also calculated using Skyrme-type
energy-density functionals. Commonly used functionals overestimate the central
density of these drops and the spin-orbit splitting of 7-neutron drops.
Improvements in the functionals are suggested
Nuclear structure studies with the 7Li(e,e'p) reaction
Experimental momentum distributions for the transitions to the ground state
and first excited state of 6He have been measured via the reaction
7Li(e,e'p)6He, in the missing momentum range from -70 to 260 MeV/c. They are
compared to theoretical distributions calculated with mean-field wave functions
and with variational Monte Carlo (VMC) wave functions which include strong
state-dependent correlations in both 7Li and 6He. These VMC calculations
provide a parameter-free prediction of the momentum distribution that
reproduces the measured data, including its normalization. The deduced summed
spectroscopic factor for the two transitions is 0.58 +/- 0.05, in perfect
agreement with the VMC value of 0.60. This is the first successful comparison
of experiment and ab initio theory for spectroscopic factors in p-shell nuclei.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

-human chorionic gonadotropin (-hCG) was successively labeled with [67Ga] gallium chloride after conjugation with freshly prepared diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid dianhydride (ccDTPA). After solid phase purification of the radiolabeled hormone, high performance liquid chromatography showed radiochemical purity higher than 95 % under optimized conditions (specific activity = 2223 TBq mM1, labeling efficiency 80 %). Preliminary in vivo studies (ID g1, %) in male wild-type rats showed marked gonadal uptake of the tracer after 240 minutes in agreement with the biodistribution studies and reported -hCG receptors. Target to blood ratios were 5.1 and 15.2 after 3 and 24 hours, respectively, while target to muscle ratios were 35 and 40 after 3 and 24 hours, respectively.Beta-humani korionski gonadotropin (beta-hCG) uspješno je markiran s [67Ga] galijevim kloridom nakon konjugacije sa svježe priređenim dianhidridom dietilentriaminpentaoctene kiseline (ccDTPA). Preliminarni in vivo pokusi (ID g-1, %) na mužjacima divljeg tipa štakora pokazali su da obilježeni hormon značajno ulazi u gonade nakon 240 minuta, što je u suglasnosti s ispitivanjima biodistribucije i podacima o receptorima za beta-hCG. Omjer koncentracija u gonadama i krvi bio je 5,1, odnosno 15,2 nakon 3, odnosno 24 sata, dok je omjer koncentracija u gonadama i mišićima bio 35, odnosno 40 nakon 3, odnosno 24 sata
Science verification of the new FlashCam-based camera in the 28m telescope of H.E.S.S
In October 2019 the central 28m telescope of the H.E.S.S. experiment has beenupgraded with a new camera. The camera is based on the FlashCam design whichhas been developed in view of a possible future implementation in themedium-sized telescopes of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). We report hereon the results of the science verification program that has been performedafter commissioning of the new camera, to show that the camera and softwarepipelines are working up to expectations.<br
New Measurement of Parity Violation in Elastic Electron-Proton Scattering and Implications for Strange Form Factors
We have measured the parity-violating electroweak asymmetry in the elastic
scattering of polarized electrons from the proton. The result is A = -15.05 +-
0.98(stat) +- 0.56(syst) ppm at the kinematic point theta_lab = 12.3 degrees
and Q^2 = 0.477 (GeV/c)^2. The measurement implies that the value for the
strange form factor (G_E^s + 0.392 G_M^s) = 0.025 +- 0.020 +- 0.014, where the
first error is experimental and the second arises from the uncertainties in
electromagnetic form factors. This measurement is the first fixed-target parity
violation experiment that used either a `strained' GaAs photocathode to produce
highly polarized electrons or a Compton polarimeter to continuously monitor the

Upper Bounds on Parity Violating Gamma-Ray Asymmetries in Compound Nuclei from Polarized Cold Neutron Capture
Parity-odd asymmetries in the electromagnetic decays of compound nuclei can sometimes be amplified above values expected from simple dimensional estimates by the complexity of compound nuclear states. In this work we use a statistical approach to estimate the root mean square (RMS) of the distribution of expected parity-odd correlations , where is the neutron spin and is the momentum of the gamma, in the integrated gamma spectrum from the capture of cold polarized neutrons on Al, Cu, and In and we present measurements of the asymmetries in these and other nuclei. Based on our calculations, large enhancements of asymmetries were not predicted for the studied nuclei and the statistical estimates are consistent with our measured upper bounds on the asymmetries
