Charmed baryon spectroscopy with Belle

Recent studies of charmed baryon spectroscopy, performed by the Belle collaboration, are briefly described. We report the observation of an isotriplet of baryons $\Sigma_c(2800)$ and evidence for two new baryons $\Xi_{cx}(2980)$ and $\Xi_{cx}(3077)$. Finally we present a precise determination of the masses of $\Xi_c$ and $\Xi_c(2645)$.Comment: 4 pages, 6 figures, LaTeX, to be submitted to the Proceedings of Moriond QCD 200

Observation of Eremosphaera viridis De Bary 1858 in the Zbyszek peat bog (Central Poland)

In samples a post-peat excavation pit of ther Zbyszek peat bog (Central Poland) a mass presence and development of autospores Eremosphaera viridis De Bary 1858 were observed. This species is rarely reported in Poland, due to its identification difficulties.Zadanie pt. Hormonalna terapia zastępcza a choroby układu sercowo-naczyniowego

The results of large randomized trials such as the Women's Health Initiative (WHI), Heart and Estrogen / Progestin Replacement Study (HERS) or Estrogen Replacement and Atherosclerosis Study (ERAS) as well as the Million Women Study (MWS) which does not meet criteria RCT, concerning, among others the impact of HRT on breast cancer risk, thromboembolism, or the aging processes in the central nervous system caused the recent big confusion in the medical community , causing distrust about the safety and advisability of HRT in menopausal women. The paper presents an overview of the available, current literature on HRT. It was found that HRT should not be used in both primary and secondary prevention of coronary heart disease Great expectations was associated with an earlier initiation of therapy, before the advent of atherosclerosis - but there is currently no conclusive data about its role in the primary prevention of coronary disease. Oral HRT increases the risk of thromboembolic events - that is why you should prefer the form of a transdermal. HRT may increase the risk of ischemic stroke (but early initiation of therapy does not increase the risk of stroke) and should not be used in the primary prevention of stroke.Wyniki dużych randomizowanych badań klinicznych, takich jak Women’s Health Initiative (WHI), Heart and Estrogen/Progestin Replacement Study (HERS), czy Estrogen Replacement and Atherosclerosis Study (ERAS), jak również niespełniającego kryterium RCT dużego badania Million Women Study (MWS), dotyczących m.in. wpływu HTZ na ryzyko raka piersi, powikłania zakrzepowo-zatorowe, czy procesy starzenia w ośrodkowym układzie nerwowym wywołały w ostatnim czasie duże zamieszanie w środowisku lekarskim, powodując nieufność, co do bezpieczeństwa i celowości stosowania HTZ u kobiet menopauzalnych. Praca przedstawia przegląd dostępnej, aktualnej literatury na ten temat. Stwierdzono, ze nie należy stosować HTZ zarówno w pierwotnej, jak i wtórnej prewencji choroby niedokrwiennej serca. Duże nadzieje wiąże się z wcześniejszym rozpoczęciem terapii, przed pojawieniem się zmian miażdżycowych – obecnie brak jest jednak jednoznacznych danych o jej roli w pierwotnej prewencji choroby niedokrwiennej. Doustna HTZ zwiększa ryzyko zdarzeń zakrzepowo-zatorowych – dlatego należy preferować formę transdermalną. HTZ może zwiększać ryzyko udaru niedokrwiennego (ale wczesne rozpoczęcie terapii nie wpływa na zwiększenie ryzyka udaru). HTZ nie należy stosować w pierwotnej prewencji udaru mózgu

Koszty logistyczne przedsiębiorstwa stanowią znaczący składnik ponoszonych kosztów ogółem. Po przeprowadzonych optymalizacjach w zakresie procesów produkcyjnych, każde z przedsiębiorstw poszukuje dalszych możliwości redukcji kosztów. Optymalizacja procesów logistycznych jest kolejnym krokiem do doskonalenia procesów, a jednocześnie do redukcji zbędnych kosztów. W artykule przedstawione są schematy zamawiania materiałów w przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych, różnice między nimi oraz zależności kosztu zapasów od innych czynników, takich jak powierzchnia magazynowa, wartość materiałów, koszty transportu. Rozważania oparto na analizie ABC oraz XYZ, dostosowując schemat zamawiania materiałów do wartości materiału oraz częstotliwości jego wykorzystywania

Synthesis and Evaluation of Nebraska Red Derivatives for Protein Labeling Studies

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) play a vital role in cell signaling, and imaging the internalization of these proteins will allow for better understand of protein trafficking within the cell, as well as identification of potential drug targets. However, there is a need for further development of fluorescent protein labels that are able to effectively monitor GPCR internalization in the near-infrared (NIR) range. We recently described a series of NIR fluorophores in which a phosphinate functionality is inserted at the bridging position of the xanthene scaffold, called the Nebraska Red (NR) dye series. These dyes are attractive reagents for the imaging of protein localization, such as the internalization of GPCRs, because of their remarkable photostability and brightness. Herein, we report a NR-based system for protein imaging using HaloTag ligands for imaging membrane proteins in living cells, including a spirolactonized derivative that enables no-wash imaging. We use these probes to image the human orexin type 2 receptor, an established target for the treatment of insomnia, and we demonstrate the noncovalent association of fetal bovine serum (FBS) with the spirolactonized probe that causes quenching of unbound dye. Furthermore, we demonstrate the utility of NR-based HaloTag ligands for real-time monitoring of orexin internalization upon agonist stimulation

Further Studies on Algae from Mesotaeniaceae Family and the Desmidiales Order on the Peat Bog „Bagno Przerębiec". Part II

The work includes some remarks about 318 taxons of the algae from Mesotaeniaceae family and the Desmidiales order indicated in samples collected in the period 1979-1982 on the transition peat bog „Bagno Przerębiec”. List of Taxa from Mesotaeniaceae Familie and Desmidiales Order in Przerębiec Peatbog

In Przerębiec Peatbog, in Szczerców Valley (Piotrków province) there were indentifled 202 taxa from Mesotaenlaceae familie and Desmldlales order. Samplex taken in 1979 and 1980 were compared. There were discovered 86 common taxa, 54 taxa met in 1979 and not found in 1980. There were not noticed any rare taxa or those not found on Poland's territory.Zadanie pt.
