Tatárjuharos-tölgyesek (Aceri tatarici-Quercetum pubescentis-roboris Zólyomi 1957) az Észak-Mezőföldön és a Zámolyi-medence környékén
E dolgozatban, a Mezőföld löszön kialakult erdőssztyep-
tölgyeseit bemutató soro za tunk harmadik részeként, most a
Mezőföld északi peremvidékén és az azzal szomszédos
terĂĽleten megtalált nyĂlt vagy fĂ©lig nyĂlt lombkoronaszintű
állományokat vizsgáltuk abból a célból, hogy elterjedésüket,
szüntaxonómiai helyzetüket, növényföldrajzi jellemzőiket és
állapotukat meghatározzuk. Az Észak-Mezőföldön található
fásĂtásokat Ă©s erdĹ‘maradványokat NádasdladánytĂłl GyĂşrĂłig
áttekintve kilenc helyszĂnen találtunk termĂ©szetes eredetűnek
ĂtĂ©lt nyĂlt
erdős sztyep állományokat, amelyekből összesen 20
ftoszociológiai mintát vettünk. A mintákat
hagyományos és sokváltozós módszerekkel elemeztük. Az észak-
mezőföldi minták a mintánkénti
fajszám, a lombkoronát alkotó fajok mintánkénti száma
tekintetében lényegében nem különböztek a mezőföldi mintáktól.
Szintén nagyfokú hasonlóság mutatkozott a meghatározó
szĂĽntaxonok
karakterfajainak csoportrészesedésében a délkelet-európai
bokorerdők (Orno-Cotinion s. l.)
fajainak kivételével, amely számottevően magasabb, mint a
Mezőföld esetében. A flóraelemek
csoportrészesedéseinek eloszlása és rangsorrendje nagymértékben
hasonló, de az észak-mezőföldi
mintákban a szubmediterrán s. l. és közép-európai fajok
csoportrészesedése magasabb, az eurázsiai
Ă©s adventĂv fajokĂ© pedig alacsonyabb a mezĹ‘földi mintákhoz
kĂ©pest. A sokváltozĂłs csoportosĂtás
található molyhos tölgyes állományok a 18. század végén
megtalálható erdők maradványainak tekinthetők, részben már
extrazonális helyzetben. Jellemzőik alapján a tatárjuharos-
tölgyesekkel (Aceri tatarici-Quercetum
pubescentis-roboris) azonosĂthatĂłk, de e társulásnak már egy
erősen szubmediterrán jellegű változatát képviselik. Termőhelyi
viszonyaikban és faji összetételükben kifejezetten átmeneti
jellegűek az
alföld erdőssztyep-erdői és a középhegységek molyhos tölgyesei

Eltérések a májbetegségek mikro-RNS-expressziós mintázatában = Alterations in microRNA expression patterns in liver diseases
Az utĂłbbi Ă©vekben egyre nagyobb Ă©rdeklĹ‘dĂ©s övezi a mikro-RNS-eket, a gĂ©nexpressziĂłt többnyire negatĂvan szabályozĂł rövid RNS-molekulákat, amelyekbĹ‘l mintegy 1000-fĂ©le ismert jelenleg. Kimutatták, hogy a mikro-RNS-ek expressziĂłja patolĂłgiás állapotokban megváltozik a normális szinthez kĂ©pest, ezĂ©rt ezt eredmĂ©nyesen lehetne alkalmazni a betegsĂ©gek pontosabb diagnosztizálásában. Májban azonosĂtottak egy májszövetre igen karakterisztikus, a hepatocyták működĂ©sĂ©hez szĂĽksĂ©ges mikro-RNS-tĂpust (miR-122), amelynek expressziĂłs szintje májsĂ©rĂĽlĂ©s következtĂ©ben általában csökken. BiomarkerkĂ©nt valĂł alkalmazása is felvetĹ‘dik, mivel acetaminofen indukálta toxicitás során a miR-122 szintje csökken a májszövetben, ugyanakkor növekszik a plazmában, sĹ‘t, plazmábĂłl a hagyományos májfunkciĂłs enzimteszteknĂ©l Ă©rzĂ©kenyebb kimutatást tesz lehetĹ‘vĂ©. A miR-122-expressziĂł szintĂ©n csökkenĹ‘ tendenciát mutat a karcinogenezis progressziĂłjával. Emellett stimulálja a hepatitis C-vĂrus replikáciĂłját Ă©s transzláciĂłját, valamint befolyásolja az interferonterápia eredmĂ©nyessĂ©gĂ©t. Ăšjabban számos olyan további mikro-RNS vált ismerttĂ©, amelyek speciális mintázatának jellegzetes változása Ăşgy tűnik, hogy jellemez egyes kĂłros folyamatokat. A cikk összefoglalja a gyĂłgyszer Ă©s alkohol indukálta, a nem alkoholos eredetű májbetegsĂ©gek, fibrosis, hepatitisvĂrus-fertĹ‘zĂ©sek, cirrhosis Ă©s hepatocellularis carcinoma során tapasztalt jelentĹ‘sebb miRNS-változásokat. In the past few years there has been growing interest for a type of short RNAs called microRNAs, which are involved in the regulation of gene expression mainly in a negative way. There are about 1000 known microRNA today. It has been demonstrated that expression level of microRNA may become altered from normal to diseased state, thus microRNAs could be employed as a reliable tool in the diagnosis of diseases. A liver-characteristic microRNA (miR-122) needed for functioning hepatocytes has been identified, which usually shows a decreased expression level upon liver injury. miR-122 has been suggested as a biomarker since it was downregulated in the liver tissue upon acetaminophen-induced toxicity and in turn elevated miR-122 level was detected in the plasma. Moreover, miR-122 level in the plasma was found to be more sensitive as compared with conventional assays based on the release of liver enzymes. Also, miR-122 expression tends to decrease as carcinogenesis progresses. In addition, miR-122 enhances the replication of hepatitis C virus and its level seems to influence the efficiency of interferon therapy. Nowadays, many microRNAs are known whose distinctive alterations in their specific patterns seem to characterize individual pathological processes. In this article, the major alterations in microRNA expression patterns in liver diseases such as drug- and alcohol-induced liver diseases, non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases, fibrosis, viral infections (hepatitis), cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma are summarized. Numerical classification of oak forests on loess in Hungary, Croatia and Serbia
Oak forests on loess are floristically one of the richest types of broadleaved forests and are among
the most threatened types of natural habitats in the Carpathian Basin. They are classified in several
communities in Hungary, Croatia and Serbia. These syntaxa are distinguished mostly on the basis of
traditional phytosociological methods without comparison across a larger geographical scale. The
recognition of some of these local syntaxa in the field, therefore, can be difficult, and the application
of their names to communities in other areas may be questionable. The goal of this study was to
develop an international typology for oak forests on loess based on a numerical analysis. A data set
of 437 phytosociological relevés (stands of 12 associations from three countries) was stratified and
270 relevés were analysed using multivariate statistical methods. Six types were distinguished:
Primula vulgaris type (xero-mesic to mesic sub-Mediterranean closed-canopy oak forests); Ruscus
aculeatus type (xeric to xero-mesic sub-Mediterranean type); Vinca herbacea type (xeric continental
open-canopywoodlands); Pulmonaria mollis type (xeric to mesic continental closed-canopy forests);
Corydalis cava type (mesic closed-canopy oak forests in nutrient-rich habitats); and Stellaria
media type (xeric to mesic oak forests in nutrient-rich habitats). The vegetation types identified are
related to syntaxa traditionally recognized by phytosociologists. Our analysis did not support the
distinction of some associations with local distributions. The geographical distributions of the two
main forest types exhibited a gradient-like pattern in a north-east–south-west direction. The dry
continental forest steppe woodland is mainly distributed in the north-eastern part of Hungary,
whereas the xero-mesic sub-Mediterranean forests are restricted to the southwestern and southern
part of our study area. This pattern corresponds to a climatic gradient from the North Hungarian Mts
to north-eastern Croatia and northern Serbia
Elevated miR-33a and miR-224 in steatotic chronic hepatitis C liver biopsies.
AIM: To assess the expression of selected microRNAs (miRNA) in hepatitis C, steatotic hepatitis C, noninfected steatotic and normal liver tissues. METHODS: The relative expression levels of miR-21, miR-33a, miR-96, miR-122, miR-125b, miR-221 and miR-224 were determined in 76 RNA samples isolated from 18 non-steatotic and 28 steatotic chronic hepatitis C (CHC and CHC-Steatosis, respectively) cases, 18 non-infected, steatotic liver biopsies of metabolic origin (Steatosis) and 12 normal formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded liver tissues using TaqMan MicroRNA Assays. All CHC biopsy samples were obtained prior to initiating therapy. Patients' serum biochemical values, which included glucose, triglyceride, cholesterol, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), gamma-glutamyl-transferase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (AP), were obtained and correlated with relative miRNA expression. RESULTS: When compared with control non-infected liver samples, miR-122 and miR-221 levels were reduced in CHC-Steatosis (P < 0.03) and in CHC, CHC-Steatosis and Steatosis (P < 0.01). Alternatively, the expression of miR-33a and miR-224 were elevated in CHC-Steatosis and Steatosis in comparison to control tissue (P < 0.01). The levels of miR-33a and miR-224 in CHC-Steatosis (P < 0.02) and miR-224 in Steatosis (P < 0.001) were increased in comparison to CHC samples. By contrast, the expression of miR-21 did not differ statistically between diseased and normal liver samples. Levels of miR-33a correlated negatively with serum AST and AP levels in Steatosis as well as with necroinflammatory grade in CHC, whereas miR-21 correlated positively with AST in Steatosis and displayed negative correlation with triglyceride level in CHC-Steatosis. In contrast, miRNA levels were not correlated with ALT, GGT, cholesterol levels or fibrosis stage. CONCLUSION: Differences in miRNA expression were observed between CHC and steatotic CHC, CHC and steatotic liver, but not between steatotic CHC and steatotic liver of metabolic origin

The post-perovskite phase was attained in a diamond-anvil-cell during heating. We did synchrotron measurements on the Co-Ti and Co-Zr alloys at the 1-ID beamline at the APS in Chicago. With the evaluation of these data we could achieve a breakthrough in the processing of the complex and several tens of gigabit data of such experiments. We developed a novel method to evaluate the substructure in the different texture components of strongly textured materials. This we applied to extruded Mg, to Ni thin films and several different types of multilayers of Cu-Nb and thin films with nanotwins. We worked out the procedure for the determination of twinning on the pyramidal and prismatic planes in hexagonal materials from X-ray line broadening.
