Development of advanced winding condition control technology of electric motors based on pulsed method
More than 80 percent of all electrical energy customers are electric motors. Therefore one of the prospects of resource-effective technologies in power industry is control of rotating electric equipment condition. Winding defects are one of the main causes of electric motor failures. Reliable control of winding condition is an urgent task of modern electrical engineering technology. The present article is devoted to the research of pulsed method application of transformer winding control for electric motor winding condition control. The procedure of winding condition control technology is described. The proposed method is based on the known pulsed method. The essential difference between the two methods is that only one probing impulse is used which is a probing impulse and response signal at once. The results of diagnostic procedure research at different winding defects are given. It is established that the place of winding damage corresponds to characteristic impulse changes. The defect of definite types causes specific changes of the probing impulse form. Therefore, different winding defects could be found with high accuracy along winding
DC-assisted microwave quenching of YBa2Cu3O7-{\delta} coplanar waveguide to a highly dissipative state
The paper reports on finding the effect of a strong change in the microwave
losses in an HTS-based coplanar waveguide (CPW) at certain values of the input
power Pin and direct current Idc. CPW on the basis of 150 nm thick
YBa2Cu3O7-{\delta} epitaxial film on a single crystal MgO substrate was studied
experimentally. A sharp and reversible transition of the CPW into a strongly
dissipative state at the certain meanings of Pin and Idc depending on
temperature was observed. Apparently the effect can be explained by
self-heating of HTS structure caused by magnetic flux flow under the joint
influence of MW and DC.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, 17 reference
Further development of transformer winding condition control technology based on pulsed method
Total destruction of windings is one of many failure reasons of power transformers which belong to the most expensive and strategically important components of any power engineering system. Mechanical displacements and following insulation damage due to short circuit and inrush currents can cause an emergency situation at any moment. Thus, the effective control technology of winding state is an important task of a modern power engineering technology. The paper deals with the experimental research of effectiveness increasing the pulsed method of transformer winding control. A new approach to winding state control technology is described. The proposed method is based on short (compared with a typical pulsed technology) probe pulse and front pulse durations. The experimental results of efficiency growth at decreasing front pulse duration are shown. The experimental equipment and methods are described. It is shown that duration of probing impulse has optimum value around 100ns. It is established that it is possible to do a condition control under operating voltage. It is shown that single stage measurement technology is further step in the development of effective winding control technology
A Servant of Two Masters?
This paper examines the early stages of the career of Aleksei Fedorovich Malinovskii, who became Head of the Moscow Archive of the State College of Foreign Affairs in 1814. The Archive’s records and diverse correspondence from the 1780s – early 1800s reveal his connections to aristocrats such as Aleksandr Romanovich Vorontsov and Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetev, as well as others among the highest officials of the Empire (vice‑chancellor Ivan Osterman). These nobles were willing to extend their patronage to this low‑level clerk at the Archive, a son of a Moscow priest. The career strategies he pursued in the domain of patronage went parallel to and were no less important than those he pursued in the domain of formal hierarchies. He sought to obtain noble status in order to acquire estates and serfs to gain a symbolic foothold in the elite; to become its full member, he married Anna Islen´eva, a niece of the Vorontsovs who became a rich heiress in 1810. Later in life, he gave his daughter in marriage to Prince Dolgorukov, a distant relative of the Sheremetevs, thus formalizing his relationship with both of his protectors’ clans. A detailed examination of Malinovskii’s rise demonstrates that while changing one’s estate was a legal option in Imperial Russia, only due to his ability to negotiate the “woven web” of patronage based on mutual services and benefit did he actually succeed in climbing the social ladder.
An oscillograms processing algorithm of a high power transformer on the basis of experimental data
The paper presents the studies on digital processing of oscillograms of the power transformer operation allowing determining the state of its windings of different types and degrees of damage. The study was carried out according to the authors' own methods using the Fourier analysis and the developed program based on the following application software packages: MathCAD and Lab View. The efficiency of the algorithm was demonstrated by the example of the waveform non-defective and defective transformers on the basis of the method of nanosecond pulses
