Comment on "Demonstration of the Casimir Force in the 0.6 to 6 micrometer Range"
We comment on a recently published measurement of the Casimir force for
distances in the 0.6 to 6 micrometer range between two Au surfaces (Phys. Rev.
Lett. 78, 5(1997)) and the net discrepancy reported for the comparison with
theoretical predictions (Phys. Rev. Lett. 81, 5475 (1998)).Comment: 1 page, LaTeX, 2 encapsulated postscript figure

Reply to the Comment on "The Lifshitz-Matsubara sum formula for the Casimir pressure between magnetic metallic mirrors"
We reply to the "Comment on 'The Lifshitz-Matsubara sum formula for the
Casimir pressure between magnetic metallic mirrors'" [arXiv:1604.06432]. We
believe the comment misrepresents our papers, and fails to provide a plausible
resolution to the conflict between theory and experiment.Comment: To appear in Phys. Rev.
Job Satisfaction of Nebraska Elementary School Counselors
This thesis on Job Satisfaction of Nebraska Elementary School Counselors reflects the feelings of Nebraska Elementary Counselors towards their careers as counselors in the public elementary schools of Nebraska. The author feels that only the surface has been skimmed in this area of research as this area has apparently had little or no research which the author could discover to date. However, the author feels that the findings of this research are significant enough to draw varied conclusions about job satisfaction among Nebraska elementary school counselors and to offer suggestions to interested readers on how to help improve the situation of Nebraska elementary school counselors. Also, as the author is an apparent pioneer in this area of research, suggestions will be made on possible other research which would be beneficial for others to follow up on
Fee or Free: When Should Firms Charge for Online Content?
Many online content providers aim to compensate for a loss in advertising revenues by charging consumers for access to content. However, such a choice is not straightforward because subscription fees typically deter customers, and a resulting decline in viewership further reduces advertising revenues. This research examines whether firms that offer both free and paid content can benefit from adjusting the amount of content offered for free. We find that firms should offer more freeâand not paidâcontent in periods of high demand. We motivate theoretically that this policy, which we term âcountercyclical offering,â may be optimal for firms when consumers are heterogeneous in their valuation of online content and this heterogeneity varies over time. Using unique data from an online content provider, we then provide empirical evidence that firms indeed engage in countercyclical offering and increase the share of free content in periods of high demand
Band structure analysis of the conduction-band mass anisotropy in 6H and 4H SiC
The band structures of 6H and 4H SiC calculated by means of the FP-LMTO
method are used to determine the effective mass tensors for their
conduction-band minima. The results are shown to be consistent with recent
optically detected cyclotron resonance measurements and predict an unusual band
filling dependence for 6H-SiC.Comment: 5 pages including 4 postscript figures incorporated with epsfig figs.

Field fluctuations near a conducting plate and Casimir-Polder forces in the presence of boundary conditions
We consider vacuum fluctuations of the quantum electromagnetic field in the
presence of an infinite and perfectly conducting plate. We evaluate how the
change of vacuum fluctuations due to the plate modifies the Casimir-Polder
potential between two atoms placed near the plate. We use two different methods
to evaluate the Casimir-Polder potential in the presence of the plate. They
also give new insights on the role of boundary conditions in the Casimir-Polder
interatomic potential, as well as indications for possible generalizations to
more complicated boundary conditions.Comment: 10 page
