Conditions for up-down asymmetry in the core of tokamak equilibria

A local magnetic equilibrium solution is sought around the magnetic axis in order to identify the key parameters defining the magnetic-surface's up-down asymmetry in the core of tokamak plasmas. The asymmetry is found to be determined essentially by the ratio of the toroidal current density flowing on axis to the fraction of the external field's odd perturbation that manages to propagate from the plasma boundary into the core. The predictions are tested and illustrated first with an analytical Solovev equilibrium and then using experimentally relevant numerical equilibria. Hollow current-density distributions, and hence reverse magnetic shear, are seen to be crucial to bring into the core asymmetry values that are usually found only near the plasma edge.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, submitted for publicatio

Some antecedents and outcomes of passionate desire for fashion clothes and accessories

Fashion trends and consumer-fashion brand relationships have been subject of study for both researchers and practitioners. Yet, as far as we know, there is a lack of analysis of the process behind the creation of a fashion trend, in previous studies. Therefore the main goal of this research was to start to understand the process behind the creation of a fashion passion for clothes and accessories, particularly to understand in what extend do narcissism and social values influence passionate desire and then, the way passionate desire influences positive word-of-mouth and affective commitment. Findings reveal that Social values have a positive and significant direct effect on Passionate desire. Yet, the strength of the relationship between Narcissism and Passionate desire is weak. The strength of the relationship between Passionate desire and word-of-mouth is weaker than the relationship between Passionate desire and Affective commitment. The current study also provides managerial implications and suggestions for further research.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The aim of this study is to explore the effect of social context on passion for fashion and the exhibitionist tendency. The study was conducted in two phases, the first one being exploratory (n=109), followed by a quantitative phase (n=425). The findings reveal that the social influence is very important in enhancing the desire to use fashion products. Further, the exhibitionist tendency acts as a mediator between passionate desire for fashion products and word-of-mouth.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio

Nickel induced endogenous dermatitis: two cases report

Fast magnetic reconnection in the plasmoid-dominated regime

A conceptual model of resistive magnetic reconnection via a stochastic plasmoid chain is proposed. The global reconnection rate is shown to be independent of the Lundquist number. The distribution of fluxes in the plasmoids is shown to be an inverse square law. It is argued that there is a finite probability of emergence of abnormally large plasmoids, which can disrupt the chain (and may be responsible for observable large abrupt events in solar flares and sawtooth crashes). A criterion for the transition from magnetohydrodynamic to collisionless regime is provided.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur

The response of 87 “B. diandrus” (ripgut brome) populations collected in cereal fields of Castilla-León and of one population collected in INIA (Madrid), to the herbicides glyphosate and sulfosulfuron, used for brome control in wheat during years, has been evaluated. The bioassays were conducted under greenhouse conditions with three doses: control, the recommended label herbicide dose (20 g m.a. ha-1 for sulfosulfuron and 800 g m.a. ha-1 for glyphosate) and half dose, with 5 replications per dose and 100 seeds per replication and population. Resistant populations were not found when the herbicide label dose was applied, but 55% of the populations showed certain resistance to sulfosulfuron and 14% to glyphosate

The response of 25 populations of Avena sterilis L. collected in Castilla-León to the ACCase (acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase) inhibiting herbicides clodinafop-propargyl, diclofop-methyl and tralkoxydim has been evaluated in the green-house. Two herbicide doses were used(the recommended field rate and the double rate) plus a non-treated control, with 3 replications per dose and 25 seeds per replication. The field rate was 40.8 g a.i. ha-1 for clodinafop, 900 g a.i. ha-1 for diclofop and 400 g a.i. ha-1 for tralkoxydim. All sampled populations were sensitive to tralkoxydim herbicide when used at the recommended field rate. Although most of the populations were classified as sensitive in the response to the used “fop” herbicides, populations showed some degree of resistance to both herbicides but in a greater extent to diclofop-methyl
