Eigenvalue estimates for non-selfadjoint Dirac operators on the real line

    Get PDF
We show that the non-embedded eigenvalues of the Dirac operator on the real line with non-Hermitian potential VV lie in the disjoint union of two disks in the right and left half plane, respectively, provided that the L1normL^1-norm of VV is bounded from above by the speed of light times the reduced Planck constant. An analogous result for the Schr\"odinger operator, originally proved by Abramov, Aslanyan and Davies, emerges in the nonrelativistic limit. For massless Dirac operators, the condition on VV implies the absence of nonreal eigenvalues. Our results are further generalized to potentials with slower decay at infinity. As an application, we determine bounds on resonances and embedded eigenvalues of Dirac operators with Hermitian dilation-analytic potentials

The paper presents analyses of structure phase stability of fuel materials by means of phase diagrams of martensite transformation method, proposed earlier for the system of “iron-carbon-vacancy”. It was shown that role of molybdenum in stabilization of uranium gamma-structure under irradiation is to hinder of the phase to phase transformations of martensite type. The role of point defects and electron structure in the process of homogenization of alloy structure in the process of irradiation was studied.

Group Action Recognition Using Space-Time Interest Points

Abstract. Group action recognition is a challenging task in computer vision due to the large complexity induced by multiple motion patterns. This paper aims at analyzing group actions in video clips containing sev-eral activities. We combine the probability summation framework with the space-time (ST) interest points for this task. First, ST interest points are extracted from video clips to form the feature space. Then we use k-means for feature clustering and build a compact representation, which is then used for group action classification. The proposed approach has been applied to classification tasks including four classes: badminton, tennis, basketball, and soccer videos. The experimental results demon-strate the advantages of the proposed approach.

High statistics study of the K- -> pi0 e- nu decay

    Get PDF
The decay K- -> pi0 e- nu has been studied using in-flight decays detected with the "ISTRA+" spectrometer working at the 25 GeV negative secondary beam of the U-70 PS. About 550K events were used for the analysis. The lambda+ parameter of the vector form-factor has been measured: lambda+ = 0.0286 +- 0.0008 (stat) +- 0.0006(syst). The limits on the possible tensor and scalar couplings have been obtained: f(T)/f+(0)=0.021 +0.064 -0.075 (stat) +- 0.026(syst) ; f(S)/f+(0)=0.002 +0.020 -0.022 (stat) +- 0.003(syst)Comment: LaTeX-2e, epsfig.sty, 10 pages, 7 figures in EPS forma

Anti-terrorist activities of the future officers: essential and structural specifications

    No full text
The issues of the fight against terrorism and the training of law enforcement personnel to participate in this fight are currently particularly relevant. This is due to the fact that on the one hand, terrorism evolves and builds its activities taking into account the anti-terrorist policy, on the other hand, international terrorism has long ceased to be a «thing in itself», it is actively but covertly used by many countries and political forces to gain benefits and achieve their goals. The article examines the characteristics of anti-terrorist activities and the conditions in which their skills are formed. The research methodology is based on the system and activity approaches and functional analysis. The main scientific results of the study were that the characteristics of the anti-terrorist activities of future officers were revealed and the structure of readiness for this activity was clarified, the pedagogical conditions for the formation of the readiness of future officers for anti-terrorist activities were given, the optimization of the educational process was modeled in order to form the readiness of future officers for anti-terrorist activities
