Wormhole Core, Extra Dimensions, and Physical Universe
We created a model of several dimensional physical universe. The extra
dimensions associated with the four dimensional physical universe is assumed to
have modified Gidding-Strominger wormhole core. This core is separated by a
flexible wall, but it allows the adiabatic pressure generated in the wormhole
to penetrate in the extra dimensions. We assume that the extra dimensions are a
contracting Robinson-Walker space. We show that the associated physical
universe accelerates under certain restriction of the parameters introduced.
The extra dimensional space is very large at the begining, however at present
time this space will be very reduced. As a result the physical universe will
appear to us four dimensional the way we observe it now.Comment: 8 pages, Festschrift Contributio
Separation of variables for a lattice integrable system and the inverse problem
We investigate the relation between the local variables of a discrete
integrable lattice system and the corresponding separation variables, derived
from the associated spectral curve. In particular, we have shown how the
inverse transformation from the separation variables to the discrete lattice
variables may be factorised as a sequence of canonical transformations,
following the procedure outlined by Kuznetsov.Comment: 14 pages. submitted for publicatio
Reionization constraints on primordial magnetic fields
We study the impact of the extra density fluctuations induced by primordial
magnetic fields on the reionization history in the redshift range: . We perform a comprehensive MCMC physical analysis allowing the variation
of parameters related to primordial magnetic fields (strength, , and
power-spectrum index ), reionization, and
CDM cosmological model. We find that magnetic field strengths in the
range: nG (for nearly scale-free power spectra) can
significantly alter the reionization history in the above redshift range and
can relieve the tension between the WMAP and quasar absorption spectra data.
Our analysis puts upper-limits on the magnetic field strength nG (95 % c.l.) for , respectively. These represent the strongest magnetic field constraints
among those available from other cosmological observables.Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS; 9 pages, 6 figure
Silicon dendritic web material
The development of a low cost and reliable contact system for solar cells and the fabrication of several solar cell modules using ultrasonic bonding for the interconnection of cells and ethylene vinyl acetate as the potting material for module encapsulation are examined. The cells in the modules were made from dendritic web silicon. To reduce cost, the electroplated layer of silver was replaced with an electroplated layer of copper. The modules that were fabricated used the evaporated Ti, Pd, Ag and electroplated Cu (TiPdAg/Cu) system. Adherence of Ni to Si is improved if a nickel silicide can be formed by heat treatment. The effectiveness of Ni as a diffusion barrier to Cu and the ease with which nickel silicide is formed is discussed. The fabrication of three modules using dendritic web silicon and employing ultrasonic bonding for interconnecting calls and ethylene vinyl acetate as the potting material is examined
Predictions for Polarized-Beam/Vector-Polarized-Target Observables in Elastic Compton Scattering on the Deuteron
Motivated by developments at HIGS at TUNL that include increased photon flux
and the ability to circularly polarize photons, we calculate several
beam-polarization/target-spin dependent observables for elastic Compton
scattering on the deuteron. This is done at energies of the order of the pion
mass within the framework of Heavy Baryon Chiral Perturbation Theory. Our
calculation is complete to O(Q^3) and at this order there are no free
parameters. Consequently, the results reported here are predictions of the
theory. We discuss paths that may lead to the extraction of neutron
polarizabilities. We find that the photon/beam polarization asymmetry is not a
good observable for the purpose of extracting \alpha_n and \beta_n. However,
one of the double polarization asymmetries, \Sigma_x, shows appreciable
sensitivity to \gamma_{1n} and could be instrumental in pinning down the
neutron spin polarizabilities.Comment: 26 pages, 13 figures, revised version to be published in PR
