Diagnostic for Dilaton Dark Energy
diagnostic can differentiate between different models of dark energy
without the accurate current value of matter density. We apply this geometric
diagnostic to dilaton dark energy(DDE) model and differentiate DDE model from
LCDM. We also investigate the influence of coupled parameter on the
evolutive behavior of with respect to redshift . According to the
numerical result of , we get the current value of equation of state
=-0.952 which fits the WMAP5+BAO+SN very well.Comment: 6 pages and 6 figures
Franck-Condon Effect in Central Spin System
We study the quantum transitions of a central spin surrounded by a
collective-spin environment. It is found that the influence of the
environmental spins on the absorption spectrum of the central spin can be
explained with the analog of the Franck-Condon (FC) effect in conventional
electron-phonon interaction system. Here, the collective spins of the
environment behave as the vibrational mode, which makes the electron to be
transitioned mainly with the so-called "vertical transitions" in the
conventional FC effect. The "vertical transition" for the central spin in the
spin environment manifests as, the certain collective spin states of the
environment is favored, which corresponds to the minimal change in the average
of the total spin angular momentum.Comment: 8 pages, 8 figure
Dilaton Dark Energy Model in f(R), f(T) and Horava-Lifshitz Gravities
In this work, we have considered dilaton dark energy model in Weyl-scaled
induced gravitational theory in presence of barotropic fluid. It is to be noted
that the dilaton field behaves as a quintessence. Here we have discussed the
role of dilaton dark energy in modified gravity theories namely, f(R); f(T) and
Horava-Lifshitz gravities and analyzed the behaviour of the dilaton field and
the corresponding potential in respect to these modified gravity theories
instead of Einstein's gravity. In f(R) and f(T) gravities, we have considered
some particular forms of f(R) and f(T) and we have shown that the potentials
always increase with the dilaton fields. But in Horava-Lifshitz gravity, it has
been seen that the potential always decreases as dilation field increases
Thermoelectric effects in superconducting proximity structures
Attaching a superconductor in good contact with a normal metal makes rise to
a proximity effect where the superconducting correlations leak into the normal
metal. An additional contact close to the first one makes it possible to carry
a supercurrent through the metal. Forcing this supercurrent flow along with an
additional quasiparticle current from one or many normal-metal reservoirs makes
rise to many interesting effects. The supercurrent can be used to tune the
local energy distribution function of the electrons. This mechanism also leads
to finite thermoelectric effects even in the presence of electron-hole
symmetry. Here we review these effects and discuss to which extent the existing
observations of thermoelectric effects in metallic samples can be explained
through the use of the dirty-limit quasiclassical theory.Comment: 14 pages, 10 figures. 374th WE-Heraus seminar: Spin physics of

Gibbs' Paradox according to Gibbs and slightly beyond
The so-called Gibbs paradox is a paradigmatic narrative illustrating the necessity to account for
the N! ways of permuting N identical particles when summing over microstates. Yet, there exist
some mixing scenarios for which the expected thermodynamic outcome depends on the viewpoint
one chooses to justify this combinatorial term. After a brief summary on Gibbs' paradox and what is
the standard rationale used to justify its resolution, we will allow ourself to question from a historical
standpoint whether the Gibbs paradox has actually anything to do with Gibbs' work. In so doing,
we also aim at shedding a new light with regards to some of the theoretical claims surrounding its
resolution. We will then turn to the statistical thermodynamics of discrete and continuous mixtures
and introduce the notion of composition entropy to characterise these systems. This will enable us to
address, in a certain sense, a "curiosity" pointed out by Gibbs in a paper published in 1876. Finally,
we will nish by proposing a connexion between the results we propose and a recent extension of
the Landauer bound regarding the minimum amount of heat to be dissipated to reset one bit of
memory
Statefinder Diagnostic for Dilaton Dark Energy
Statefinder diagnostic is a useful method which can differ one dark energy
model from the others. The Statefinder pair is algebraically related
to the equation of state of dark energy and its first time derivative. We apply
in this paper this method to the dilaton dark energy model based on Weyl-Scaled
induced gravitational theory. We investigate the effect of the coupling between
matter and dilaton when the potential of dilaton field is taken as the Mexican
hat form. We find that the evolving trajectory of our model in the
diagram is quite different from those of other dark energy models.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, type errors corrected, reference no. changed,

Revisiting Zitterbewegung
The Dirac wave equation for the electron soon lead to the recognition of the
Zitterbewegung. This was studied both by Schrodinger and Dirac. Later there
were further elegant and sometimes dissenting insights, from different authors.
We briefly review some of these developments. However in more recent times with
dark energy and noncommutative spacetime coming to centre stage, the earlier
studies of Zitterbewegung become questionable.Comment: 14 pages; late
The pole in
Using a sample of 58 million events recorded in the BESII detector,
the decay is studied. There are conspicuous
and signals. At low mass, a large
broad peak due to the is observed, and its pole position is determined
to be - MeV from the mean of six analyses.
The errors are dominated by the systematic errors.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figures, submitted to PL
Search for the Lepton Flavor Violation Processes and
The lepton flavor violation processes and are
searched for using a sample of 5.8 events collected with
the BESII detector. Zero and one candidate events, consistent with the
estimated background, are observed in and
decays, respectively. Upper limits on the branching ratios are determined to be
and at the 90% confidence level (C.L.).Comment: 9 pages, 2 figure
