Gluon GPDs and Exclusive Photoproduction of a Quarkonium in Forward Region
Forward photoproduction of can be used to extract Generalized Parton
Distributions(GPD's) of gluons. We analyze the process at twist-3 level and
study relevant classifications of twist-3 gluon GPD's. At leading power or
twist-2 level the produced is transversely polarized. We find that at
twist-3 the produced is longitudinally polarized. Our study shows that
in high energy limit the twist-3 amplitude is only suppressed by the inverse
power of the heavy quark mass relatively to the twist-2 amplitude. This
indicates that the power correction to the cross-section of unpolarized
can have a sizeable effect. We have also derived the amplitude of the
production of at twist-3, but the result contains end-point
singularities. The production of other quarkonia has been briefly discussed.Comment: Discussions of results are adde
Topology of Entanglement in Multipartite States with Translational Invariance
The topology of entanglement in multipartite states with translational
invariance is discussed in this article. Two global features are foundby which
one can distinguish distinct states. These are the cyclic unit and the
quantised geometric phase. Furthermore the topology is indicated by the
fractional spin. Finally a scheme is presented for preparation of these types
of states in spin chain systems, in which the degeneracy of the energy levels
characterises the robustness of the states with translational invariance.Comment: major revision. accepted by EPJ
Determination of the Sign of g factors for Conduction Electrons Using Time-resolved Kerr Rotation
The knowledge of electron g factor is essential for spin manipulation in the
field of spintronics and quantum computing. While there exist technical
difficulties in determining the sign of g factor in semiconductors by the
established magneto-optical spectroscopic methods. We develop a time resolved
Kerr rotation technique to precisely measure the sign and the amplitude of
electron g factor in semiconductors
Opaque Service Virtualisation: A Practical Tool for Emulating Endpoint Systems
Large enterprise software systems make many complex interactions with other
services in their environment. Developing and testing for production-like
conditions is therefore a very challenging task. Current approaches include
emulation of dependent services using either explicit modelling or
record-and-replay approaches. Models require deep knowledge of the target
services while record-and-replay is limited in accuracy. Both face
developmental and scaling issues. We present a new technique that improves the
accuracy of record-and-replay approaches, without requiring prior knowledge of
the service protocols. The approach uses Multiple Sequence Alignment to derive
message prototypes from recorded system interactions and a scheme to match
incoming request messages against prototypes to generate response messages. We
use a modified Needleman-Wunsch algorithm for distance calculation during
message matching. Our approach has shown greater than 99% accuracy for four
evaluated enterprise system messaging protocols. The approach has been
successfully integrated into the CA Service Virtualization commercial product
to complement its existing techniques.Comment: In Proceedings of the 38th International Conference on Software

Vector magnetic field sensing by single nitrogen vacancy center in diamond
In this Letter, we proposed and experimentally demonstrated a method to
detect vector magnetic field with a single nitrogen vacancy (NV) center in
diamond. The magnetic field in parallel with the axis of the NV center can be
obtained by detecting the electron Zeeman shift, while the Larmor precession of
an ancillary nuclear spin close to the NV center can be used to measure the
field perpendicular to the axis. Experimentally, both the Zeeman shift and
Larmor precession can be measured through the fluorescence from the NV center.
By applying additional calibrated magnetic fields, complete information of the
vector magnetic field can be achieved with such a method. This vector magnetic
field detection method is insensitive to temperature fluctuation and it can be
applied to nanoscale magnetic measurement.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure
Berry's phase with quantized field driving: effects of inter-subsystem coupling
The effect of inter-subsystem couplings on the Berry phase of a composite
system as well as that of its subsystem is investigated in this paper. We
analyze two coupled spin- particles with one driven by a quantized
field as an example, the pure state geometric phase of the composite system as
well as the mixed state geometric phase for the subsystem is calculated and
discussed.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur
Using schema transformation pathways for data lineage tracing
With the increasing amount and diversity of information available on the Internet, there has been a huge growth in information systems that need to integrate data from distributed, heterogeneous data sources. Tracing the lineage of the integrated data is one of the problems being addressed in data warehousing research. This paper presents a data lineage tracing approach based on schema transformation pathways. Our approach is not limited to one specific data model or query language, and would be useful in any data transformation/integration framework based on sequences of primitive schema transformations

Structural and electronic properties of SrZrO3 and Sr(Ti,Zr) O3 alloys
Using hybrid density functional calculations, we study the electronic and structural properties of SrZrO3 and ordered Sr(Ti,Zr)O3 alloys. Calculations were performed for the ground-state orthorhombic (Pnma) and high-temperature cubic (Pm3m) phases of SrZrO3. The variation of the lattice parameters and band gaps with Ti addition was studied using ordered SrTixZr1-xO3 structures with x=0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1. As Ti is added to SrZrO3, the lattice parameter is reduced and closely follows Vegard's law. On the other hand, the band gap shows a large bowing and is highly sensitive to the Ti distribution. For x=0.5, we find that arranging the Ti and Zr atoms into a 1Ă1SrZrO3/SrTiO3 superlattice along the [001] direction leads to interesting properties, including a highly dispersive single band at the conduction-band minimum (CBM), which is absent in both parent compounds, and a band gap close to that of pure SrTiO3. These features are explained by the splitting of the lowest three conduction-band states due to the reduced symmetry of the superlattice, lowering the band originating from the in-plane Ti 3dxy orbitals. The lifting of the t2g orbital degeneracy around the CBM suppresses scattering due to electron-phonon interactions. Our results demonstrate how short-period SrZrO3/SrTiO3 superlattices could be exploited to engineer the band structure and improve carrier mobility compared to bulk SrTiO3
Atom-molecule conversion with particle losses
Based on the mean-field approximation and the phase space analysis, we study
the dynamics of an atom-molecule conversion system subject to particle loss.
Starting from the many-body dynamics described by a master equation, an
effective nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation is introduced. The classical phase
space is then specified and classified by fixed points. The boundary, which
separate different dynamical regimes have been calculated and discussed. The
effect of particle loss on the conversion efficiency and the self-trapping is
explored.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
