A Simplified Determination of Microquantity of Carbon in Iron, Steel and Ferro-Alloy

    Get PDF
In order to determine rapidly and accurately microquantity (below 0.1 per cent) of carbon in iron, steel and ferro-alloys, 0.5~1g of the sample was taken, carbon dioxide gas generated by its combustion was solidified by passing through a trap chilled in liquid air, and the solid carbon dioxide was vaporized and allowed to permeate a definite vacuum, the volume being read on the manometer. The analytical results by this method agreed well with those by gravimetric method within a mean standard deviation of 0.0005 per cent in low-carbon steel, and well agreeing results were also obtained with chromium metal and manganese metal. The time required for the analysis by this method was 24~26 minutes

SCP: Spherical-Coordinate-based Learned Point Cloud Compression

In recent years, the task of learned point cloud compression has gained prominence. An important type of point cloud, the spinning LiDAR point cloud, is generated by spinning LiDAR on vehicles. This process results in numerous circular shapes and azimuthal angle invariance features within the point clouds. However, these two features have been largely overlooked by previous methodologies. In this paper, we introduce a model-agnostic method called Spherical-Coordinate-based learned Point cloud compression (SCP), designed to leverage the aforementioned features fully. Additionally, we propose a multi-level Octree for SCP to mitigate the reconstruction error for distant areas within the Spherical-coordinate-based Octree. SCP exhibits excellent universality, making it applicable to various learned point cloud compression techniques. Experimental results demonstrate that SCP surpasses previous state-of-the-art methods by up to 29.14% in point-to-point PSNR BD-Rate

    大学生のゲーム障害予防のためのデジタルデトックスの有効性に関する文献検討

    Get PDF

方法:医中誌、Pubmed、CINAHLを用い、キーワードを国内文献は「当事者」「看護」「教育」「学生」、海外文献は「lived experience OR experts by experience OR service user OR consumer」And「education」And「mental* OR psychiat*」And「nurs*」And「student」とし検索し、研究目的に合致した国内文献13件、海外文献22件を研究対象とした。

Two-level priority scheduling framework in a max-plus linear representation

    No full text
A common type of scheduling policy includes first-in-first-out (FIFO) and earliest-outset bases. Among many approaches to this, max-plus linear representation is beneficial for event-driven discrete event systems (DESs). The earliest event occurrence times can be represented by linear relations in max-plus algebra, the resultant of which is analogous with the state equation in modern control theory. Methodologies in control theory such as evolution prediction and just-in-time scheduling can thus be utilized. Although useful, the description capability remains confined to FIFO contexts, for which the method would not be capable of producing an efficient solution for systems with two-level priorities. An entity, e.g. a task or token in scheduling contexts, with higher qualification would be prioritized over one with a lower qualification. A framework for overtaking tasks is necessary for this. Motivated by this need, this article is concerned with constructing a two-level priority scheduling methodology in a max-plus linear context. A numerical experiment applied to a simple manufacturing system highlights the significance of the constructed method

Effect of loading type on fatigue property of specimens treated by cutting and rubbing process

    No full text
Aiming for a result to improve fatigue strength, “cutting and rubbing process” which is a kind of surface treatment was used for forming a round-bar smooth-specimen, showing drastically enhanced rotating-bending fatigue strength. On the other hand, actual machine components and structures invariably contain geometrical irregularities, such as fillets, keyways, screw threads, and holes. Fatigue cracks initiated from such stress raisers, indicating that the validity of the cutting and rubbing process on fatigue strength of specimen with a stress raiser should be examined. In this study, fatigue tests of smooth and notched specimens finished by the cutting and rubbing process were conducted under some loading types including rotating-bending, tension-compression and torsion loading. Results showed that fatigue strength of notched specimens was significantly enhanced compared to that of smooth specimens under rotating-bending and tension-compression loads. In other words, the cutting and rubbing processing was more effective in stress raisers than the smooth surface. The physical background on the effect of loading type on the fatigue strength of the cutting and rubbing processed specimen was discussed based on the fracture origin, microstructure in the surface layer, stress gradient caused by both loading type and notch
