Innovative cyclical development of the Russian pipeline system.

    Get PDF
This paper examines the identification of patterns of innovative development in the Russian pipeline system. An evaluation system based on the theory of technological innovation cycles is proposed. The innovation cycles identification scheme, in terms of innovation objects, is designed; the innovation dynamics are analyzed on the basis of chronological maps and a comparative evaluation of the waves of innovations in oil transportation is conducted. The influence of industrial specificity of groups of elements on the rate of innovative change is revealed. A forecast of pipeline system elements' innovative renewal is produced using Foresight assessments of priority technologies 2030

Effect of gap and diameter ratio on vortex-induced forces for cylinders in tandem at Re=100.

The article investigates fluctuations of the vortex-induced loads related to the effects of gap and diameter ratio on the mean drag and lift coefficients of the downstream cylinder, when two circular stationary cylinders of different diameters are arranged in a tandem configuration. The study is performed with the method of computational fluid dynamics for the low Reynolds number of 100. The benchmarking of the numerical model is followed by the parametric investigation with the variation of: a) the ratio of diameters of the upstream to downstream cylinder (d/D), in order to observe the effects associated with relative sizes of structures; b) the gap-to-diameter ratio (G/D), in order to observe the combined effects of varying these geometrical quantities. The results demonstrate a rapid change in the mean drag and lift coefficient values at the gap-to-diameter ratio between 2.0 and 3.0 at the diameter ratios of 0.7 and 1.0

Spatial Pattern Formation in External Noise: Theory and Simulation

Spatial pattern formation in excitable fluctuating media was researched analytically from the point of view of the order parameters concept. The reaction-diffusion system in external noise is considered as a model of such medium. Stochastic equations for the unstable mode amplitudes (order parameters), dispersion equations for the unstable mode averaged amplitudes, and the Fokker-Planck equation for the order parameters have been obtained. The developed theory makes it possible to analyze different noise-induced effects, including the variation of boundaries of ordering and disordering phase transitions depending on the parameters of external noiseComment: 22 pages, 10 figure

Pain syndromes are very common and therapeutically resistant, and it is necessary to offer new approaches with complex examination of the pain. The paper presents data about influence of pain beliefs on results of treatment of algetic syndromes

Attractiveness of the Russian regional space as a living environment: Aspect of the migrants' behavioural rationality

This study focuses on the rationality of the migrants' behaviour. We hypothesise that the migration growth rate depends on the territory attractiveness for living. The rational behaviour is defined as the direct dependence of the migrations on the characteristics of the territory attractiveness. The irrational behaviour means that the reverse dependence is present. The direct dependence is recognised if the level of the migrants' positive reactions to the factors of the territory attractiveness is no less than 30 % from the maximum. 83 subjects of the Russian Federation were clustered based on 12 objective characteristics of the life's quality. We distinguished the largest Middle Cluster, which includes 56 regions. Further we transformed the panel data for the period from 2005 to 2015 into the array of the coefficients of correlations between the characteristics of the territory attractiveness and the migration growth rates in the regions. Using these characteristics, the regions were clustered again. The regional types of the Middle cluster with the rational and irrational behaviours include 22 regions each. The level of the migrants' positive reactions to the factors of the territory attractiveness is 44.1 % for the first (rational) regional type and 42.5 % for the second (irrational) type. The regional type with the indifferent behaviour includes 12 regions. The level of the migrants' reactions to the characteristics of these territory attractiveness is just 5.8 %. Based on the regression models of the migration coefficient for each cluster type, we have provided recommendations for managing the migration flows using the differential approach. © 2019 Petrov M.
