Perspectives on Thematic Concerns in Girish Karnad’s Yayati
Girish Raghunath Karnad is the most influential playwright of present times, who deals history and folktales in his plays to express the Indian tradition for the themes and techniques. Karnad has been awarded with the Padma Bhushan and was honored the prestigious Jnapith Award. His plays were originally written in Kannada and later on were translated into several other languages. Yayati, which was first written in Kannada in 1961, it was also the first dramatic work by Karnad and later was translated the dramatist himself into English. Karnad has extracted history and traditional elements from the Mahabharata to reveal the inanity of human life with all its essential attachment and to highlight contemporary social issues in the Post-Independence literature. The research paper contains view on thematic concerns in Girish Karnad’s Yayati. While doing so, my attempt would also be focused on contemporary social issues in the post-colonial scenario of the Indian society in the modern context
Improved Bounds for Radio k
A number of graph coloring problems have their roots in a communication problem known as the channel assignment problem. The channel assignment problem is the problem of assigning channels (nonnegative integers) to the stations in an optimal way such that interference is avoided as reported by Hale (2005). Radio k-coloring of a graph is a special type of channel assignment problem. Kchikech et al. (2005) have given a lower and an upper bound for radio k-chromatic number of hypercube Qn, and an improvement of their lower bound was obtained by Kola and Panigrahi (2010). In this paper, we further improve Kola et al.'s lower bound as well as Kchikeck et al.'s upper bound. Also, our bounds agree for nearly antipodal number of Qn when n≡2 (mod 4)
FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF FAST DISSOLVING TABLETS OF RANITIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE BY HOLE TECHNOLOGY
Attempts were made to prepare ranitidine fast dissolving tablets by Novel Hole technology. When these fast dissolving tablets contact with gastro intestinal fluids, the fluid will enters the hole present in the tablet and immediate breaking of the tablet is going to takes place. This fast disintegration of tablets is also influenced by the formation of new absolute area. The prepared FDTs were subjected to various pre and post formulation studies. Its disintegration and dissolution rates were compared with the control formulation (without hole).In-vitro drug release of FDTs (DH6) showed almost 100.92percent of the drug was released at 6th minute, whereas the control formulation D12, shows the 99percent drug release at 20th minute. Overall, this technique is novel and most useful for formulation into fast dissolving tablets.Key words: Novel Fast Dissolving Tablets, Ranitidine, Hole technolog
Stand-Alone Wind Power Generation using Adaline Based Integrated Electronic Load Controller
Wind power is clean, economical and environmentally friendly. It is promising alternative electric power generation source at the time of unavailability of fossil fuel and reduces concern over the harmful effects of climate change due to excessive pollution caused by use of fossil fuels. This paper proposes the adaptive linear element (adaline) algorithm based integrated electronic load controller for an isolated windturbine-driven power generation. The adaline extracts the fundamental component of load current to control the voltage and frequency of generator with balancing loads in an integrated manner. The IELC is realized using zigzag/three single-phase transformers and a six-leg insulated-gate bipolar-transistor-based current controlled voltage-source converter, a chopper switch, and an auxiliary load on its dc bus. The generating system is modeled and simulated in MATLAB environment using Simulink and Simpower System toolboxes. Hierarchical Deep Learning Architecture For 10K Objects Classification
Evolution of visual object recognition architectures based on Convolutional
Neural Networks & Convolutional Deep Belief Networks paradigms has
revolutionized artificial Vision Science. These architectures extract & learn
the real world hierarchical visual features utilizing supervised & unsupervised
learning approaches respectively. Both the approaches yet cannot scale up
realistically to provide recognition for a very large number of objects as high
as 10K. We propose a two level hierarchical deep learning architecture inspired
by divide & conquer principle that decomposes the large scale recognition
architecture into root & leaf level model architectures. Each of the root &
leaf level models is trained exclusively to provide superior results than
possible by any 1-level deep learning architecture prevalent today. The
proposed architecture classifies objects in two steps. In the first step the
root level model classifies the object in a high level category. In the second
step, the leaf level recognition model for the recognized high level category
is selected among all the leaf models. This leaf level model is presented with
the same input object image which classifies it in a specific category. Also we
propose a blend of leaf level models trained with either supervised or
unsupervised learning approaches. Unsupervised learning is suitable whenever
labelled data is scarce for the specific leaf level models. Currently the
training of leaf level models is in progress; where we have trained 25 out of
the total 47 leaf level models as of now. We have trained the leaf models with
the best case top-5 error rate of 3.2% on the validation data set for the
particular leaf models. Also we demonstrate that the validation error of the
leaf level models saturates towards the above mentioned accuracy as the number
of epochs are increased to more than sixty.Comment: As appeared in proceedings for CS & IT 2015 - Second International

A comparative study of tapentadol versus tramadol in the treatment of low back pain
Background: Nontraumatic musculoskeletal disorders are the main reason for presentation to the emergency department with Rachialgia being the most common reason to request medical assessment among them. Methods: This was a prospective, randomized, parallel group open labelled study conducted in a district level tertiary care hospital attached to a medical teaching institute. Patients were randomized into two groups. Group I (63 patients) received tablet tramadol 50 mg twice daily orally and group II (63 patients) received tablet tapentadol 50 mg twice daily orally. Results: The mean age of the patients of group I was 40.6±9.6 years and in the group II was 42.7±10.6 years. A total of 61 males participated in the study of which 31 males were enrolled in group I and 30 in group II while 65 females participated in the study of which 32 females were enrolled in group I and 33 in group II. The mean reduction of pain intensity VAS score at the end of 4 weeks from baseline in group I and group II were 34.57 and 37.55 respectively. The difference in the mean reduction of pain intensity VAS between the two groups was not statistically significant. Conclusions: We conclude that both the drugs show significant reduction in the pain intensity in moderate to severe CLBP patients. Tapentadol is as efficacious as tramadol in moderate to severe CLBP. However, tapentadol is better tolerated than tramadol
NOVEL APPROACHES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ORAL CONTROLLED RELEASE COMPOSITIONS OF GALANTAMINE HYDROBROMIDE AND PAROXETINE HYDROCHLORIDE HEMIHYDRATE: A REVIEW
The objective of this review is to study different novel approaches for achieving controlled release for oral administration. There is need of developing cost-effective generic products which will be comparable to the established innovator products with respect to in vivo performance. The innovator products being developed based on exhaustive research are developed utilizing novel platform technologies, have been protected with patents. These platform technologies require specialized manufacturing equipment's and that additionally imparts overall cost to the drug product. This review also contains review on existing technologies utilized for controlling the drug release of actives and also focuses on authors work on the development of cost-effective novel approaches for developing controlled release of some selected central nervous system acting drugs viz galantamine hydrobromide (GAH) and paroxetine hydrochloride hemihydrate (PHH). The existing approved reference products of selected molecules are available based on extended release multi-particulate delivery system and Geomatrix based platform technology for GAH and PHH respectively. This review also explains authors work in developing different controlled release approaches for achieving similar in vivo performance comparable to the reference product. The use of high viscosity grade of hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) as a release controlling matrix former in order to control the release of GAH by direct compression into mini tablets offers a feasible dosage form which further can be filled into capsules. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) based matrix tablets which were further coated using methacrylic acid copolymer were found to be a suitable method to formulate single layer controlled release PHH.

Standardisation of soil volume wetting for drip irrigation in mango (Mangifera indica L.,)
Field experiments were conducted in mango for four years during 2017-2020 at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research to standardise optimum soil volume wetting for drip irrigation. Wetting soil volume upto 70% recorded higher mean fruit yield of 34.8 kg/plant (9.68 t/ha)and with further increase in the level of soil volume wetting irrigation (upto 80%), there was a decline in the mango yield (7.40 t/ha). Similarly, significantly increased response was observed in fruit weight upto 70% soil volume irrigation (226 g) although there were no significant differences in the TSS of the fruit. Significantly higher water use efficiency was observed for 30% soil volume wetting irrigation (274.1 kg/m3) and further no significant differences were observed in water use efficiency between 50% and 70% soil volume wetting irrigations indicating that in areas of water scarcity, it is enough to scheduling the irrigation only upto 50% soil volume wetting in mango for economising the water (232.1 kg/m3)
