In this paper, we have proposed the concept of weighted generalized residual entropy of order α and type β, and have shown that the proposed measure characterizes the distribution function uniquely

An Integrated Pedal Follower and Torque Based Approach for Electronic Throttle Control in a Motorcycle Engine

Nowadays, electronic throttle control system is widely adapted in the motorcycle for better drivability, fuel economy and reduces the emissions. In such systems, pedal follower or torque based approach are used for calculating the required throttle angle for the given torque demand by driver. This work presents a throttle control system for the precise estimation of throttle angle based on the integrated pedal follower and torque based approach for the given accelerator position and torque demand by the driver. A mathematical model for an electronic throttle body is developed to understand the effects of nonlinearities due to friction and limp home dual springs. A PID controller with compensators are developed to handle the nonlinearities due to the friction and limp home dual springs in the proposed electronic throttle control system. A simulation study has been carried out using software in loop and hardware in loop simulation approaches for step, sinusoidal, and ramp input signals. The responses of electronic throttle body for opening the throttle angle and error are analyzed for the given input signals. The simulation result shows that the proposed compensators has significant advantage in reducing the throttle angle error and gives the desired output

Profit Analysis of a Warm Standby Non-Identical Units System with Single Server Subject to Priority

The present paper deals with the profit analysis of a warm standby non-identical (one is main unit another is duplicate unit) units system with single server. The model consists of two non-identical units –one is operative and the other kept as warm standby and one unit is sufficient to make the system in operative mode. The main unit may fail directly from normal mode and the warm standby unit can fail owing to remain unused for a longer period of time. There is a single server, who gives priority to repair of the main unit over the repair of the duplicate unit. The time is taken to repair activity by the server follows negative exponential distribution whereas the distributions of unit are taken as arbitrary with different probability density functions. The expressions of various efficiency measures are analyzed in steady state using semi-Markov process and regenerative point technique. Also, taking the arbitrary values for the parameters (i.e. ?, µ, ? and ?) to delineate the behavior of some important performance measures to check the efficacy of the system model under such situations shown in the graphs

The conventional method of classifying CMS lines on fertility restoration atterns is cumbersome and time consuming. Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFL P ) of mitochondria1 (mt) DNA provides a rapid and effective method to assess heterogeneity among male-sterile cytoplasms. With this objective, six isonuclear A-lines (81A, with Tift 23A, cytoplasm, ICMA 88001 (= 81 A,) with violaceum cytoplasm, 81 A (= 81 A ) with monodii = violaceum cytoplasm, Pb 310A, and Pb 31 1A, with A, cytoplasm, a n $ ~ b4 06a with A cytoplasm), nine male-sterile lines from Large-seeded Genepool ( LSGP 6, LSGP 14, ~ G17P, LS GP 22, LSGP 28, LSGP 36, LSGP 43, LSGP 55 and LSGP 66) and two CMS lines each from Early Genepool (EGP 1 and EGP 2) and Population Varieties (PV 1 and PV 2) were characterized for variation in their mitochondrial genomes following Southern blot hybridizations using homologous (pearl millet 13.6 kb, 10.9 kb, 9.7 kb and 4.7 kb clones) and heterologous (maize atp6 and cox1 clones) mtDNA probes. Based on RFLP banding pattern we identified seven cytoplasmic groups from the LSGP. Of the LSGP cytoplasms, LSGP 43, LSGP 55 and LSGP 66 were most diverse.....
