Сorrosion protection of metals: prospects of production and application of uralkyd materials (review)

    Get PDF
Uralkyd oligomers are considered to be promising film-forming. They are widely used in the production of high-quality paints and varnishes for vari ous purposes (primeres, paints, priming-paints). The success of these materials is due to the high properties of coatings formed. These coatings have high adhesion, strength properties and corrosion resistance. The advanages of these materials is feed-stock availability, low cost compared to other polyurethanes, their usability. Uralkyd materials is one-component and low-toxicity system. So they are promising in the protection of various metal from corrosion. Uralkyd oligomers sufficiently versatile in use. They can be applied a lot of methods and combined with many types of paints (nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber and oily alkyd oligomers). They can be used at the factory painting and refit painting of metal products

The processing of aluminum alloys (silumins) by ligatures containing various carbon modiŸcations (in the form of microcrystalline graphite, nanocarbon additives in the form of fullerenes, fullerene soot, fullerene niello) based on casting-deformation technology of the manufacturing of products was studied. The elemental and phase composition, structural state and mechanical and tribological properties of the initial components of the charge in the Al-C and Al-Si-C alloys after mechanical activation by severe plastic deformation (extrusion) of the charge and cast aluminum workpieces were studied. The processes of structure formation of the alloys in the system Al-C and Al-Si-C when they are received and thermomechanically loaded are gradually studied. The formation of superhard carbon phases in ligatures, where instead of microcrystalline graphite was used nanocarbon additives is of particular interest. Using spectroscopy of combined light scattering amorphous phase, similar to glassy carbon, was revealed. In the ligatures were identiŸed also carbides of aluminum Al4C3 and/or silicon SiC during annealing (800єC, 30 minutes). The structural state of the alloys obtained after activation of the charge (mechanical activation in dispersive devices and intensive plastic deformation) determines the prospects of their use in the composites characterized by high anti-friction, plastic and strength properties

    Swaddling: A Systematic Review

Swaddling was an almost universal child-care practice before the 18th century. It is still tradition in certain parts of the Middle East and is gaining popularity in the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands to curb excessive crying. We have systematically reviewed all articles on swaddling to evaluate its possible benefits and disadvantages. In general, swaddled infants arouse less and sleep longer. Preterm infants have shown improved neuromuscular development, less physiologic distress, better motor organization, and more self-regulatory ability when they are swaddled. When compared with massage, excessively crying infants cried less when swaddled, and swaddling can soothe pain in infants. It is supportive in cases of neonatal abstinence syndrome and infants with neonatal cerebral lesions. It can be helpful in regulating temperature but can also cause hyperthermia when misapplied. Another possible adverse effect is an increased risk of the development of hip dysplasia, which is related to swaddling with the legs in extension and adduction. Although swaddling promotes the favorable supine position, the combination of swaddling with prone position increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, which makes it necessary to warn parents to stop swaddling if infants attempt to turn. There is some evidence that there is a higher risk of respiratory infections related to the tightness of swaddling. Furthermore, swaddling does not influence rickets onset or bone properties. Swaddling immediately after birth can cause delayed postnatal weight gain under certain conditions, but does not seem to influence breastfeeding parameter

Influence of additives – oil tar modifiers on the oxidized bitumen adhesion to mineral materials

    Get PDF
Petroleum tar was exposed to microwave irradiation or added with isopropyl alcohol and then oxidized to paving bitumen. The bitumen adhesion to mineral materials was investigated. Either of the two kinds of treatment enhanced the bitumen adhesion to marble chips and sand. The adhesion to the marble chips ran up to 5 points in contrast to 3 point of the sand adhesion magnitude. Addition of the alcohol to the tar promotes rise in alcohol benzene and benzene resins content in resulting bitumen to the greater exnent then the microwave irradiation which leads to reinforcing its bond with marble chips and sand
